i have one question.
i will root my phone so i can calibrate accelerometer on xperia arc s. but i'm not 100% sure if i can calibrate accelerometer on rootet xeria phone.
pls help me.
i get my phone from Service and they not fix my accelerometer.
Why do you need root to calibrate your accelerometer?
Just enter the Service menu and you should be able to do it.
On your phone, dial *#*#7378423#*#* to enter the menu.

i can't calibrate accelerometer not even here *#*#7378423#*#*.
this option its not avaible so what can i do??
Go to the Service menu, select Service tests and choose compass. They ask you to roll your hands in a figure-eight motion.
See if this solves your problem.

I know this has already been discussed but I used to have, and Im not going to lie or exaggerate but around 20 Camera Applications, then this problem occurred so I got rid of around 75% of them, and I still have the problem and finally I now only have the Stock Application and the Modified one where you can use the Trigger Buttons.
The problem is that my camera is fully functional, it works in the Service Menu but only if I run Fast Reboot first while i'm actually in the Camera Menu.
Is my phone dodgy or is this my phone giving me a warning sign to Ditch it for the iPhone? ;p
try .ftf'ing back to stock and see if that helps if not then its probably a hardware issue
But I had this problem before as well which is why I flashed again.
Well restored my phone..
Sounds like its a hardware problem now bro

But It Works In The Service Menu >__<
Hmmm I remember reading something about rewriting the hardware keys or something like that I think allejandrissimo can do it

Found a solution ;p
Go into service menu and start camera, which wont work so use fast reboot and then it should work. Then enter the camera app and then it should work.
If only I knew that when I saw a NSX and a Green Lancia Delta Integrale Evo II the other day..
Hey guys; I wanna tell you an unbelievable problem! My Xperia SL phone overheats when I surf the net, etc. and then my SIM card becomes unusable! And I have to Restart the phone for the SIM to becomes available! The SIM area overheats too much and then... . Is it only me? Or it is a global problem?
I'll be thankful if you answer me, this problem is annoying me!

Thanks for answering; but I can't avoid using 3G network, that's one of the most important things I do with my phone.
Please help me if anyone knows the solution.
It's a very big problem.

This.
And to op: what's your phone's temperature anyway? Mine can go to 66 degrees Celcius and doesn't have problem with 3G and/or simcard.

The temperature which SIM will be unusable is exactly 40! I check the temperature with GO PowerMaster app, is it okay?
And I use Chrome so much, I guess chrome increases temperature significantly! Just wanted you to know.
Thank you for your help boys

Try updating your firmware or reinstalling it via PC Companion. If the issue still persists go to service centre and try reinstalling the firmware again.
I had similar problem on my Xperia Ion LT28h. I reinstalled the software through service centre and it helped. the temperature still goes high around 45 when I browsed internet or watched videos on youtube via 3G, but its better then before.
Also if the temperature goes till 45 degrees then its normal for a sony phone. Guys at sony claim it can go as high as 60.
Restarts
I dont know but i have somewhat similar problem. Actually my xperia SL gets restarted after frequent intervals even when it is idle or anything. Any one knows about it or having the same issue???

You flash another rom, a better one if possible.

And you, when your phone is overheating, open the battery consumption report and check who's the damn app with the anormal consumption (usually on top of the list), i had a similar problem (couldnt keep the phone in my pocket when overheated!! ) and turned out the message app LINE had consumed 77% of the battery so far, even more than screen, and i didnt even used LINE so often, so i uninstalled it and voilá, problem solved.
So check the battery consumption list and take the culprit down.
My XS also heats up when surfing with 3g, Wifi is okay, but 3g make my SIM burn!
Already restored using SUS and with XZXperience 2 too.

Probably a hardware issue if you didn't mess with your software.

I have had several issues with my z1 compact and the Roxfit case as listed in my thread to the point where I no longer use the case. However what I have noticed now is that when the phone is in my pocket and someone calls that it seems to answer itself before I've taken the phone out.
Anyone else had any of these issues?

check if u install sth about auto answer! (cause thr s some such apps in play.store)
if u wanna test if ur sensors work or not best way is to use this code; *#*#7378423#*#*
and if u find thr s not app for auto-answer it might be software bug. and it s usual.
just back up ur data and repair ur phone by PCC.

Hi guys,
I've have similar problem as OP as when I answer the phone the screen does indeed go off but when I move phone away from my ear the screen sometimes does not come back on until I use the power button.
Doesn't happen all the time though...
A little annoying as I don't know if they have gone off or not.
