NOT ROOTED
Ordered international version 4 months ago. Now phone CONSTANTLY disconnects and reconnects from WIFI. I have several phones in my household that hold the wifi strong. TOTAL BATTERY DRAIN and very annoying. Any ideas?
I tried using WIFI Fixer and no luck. Been more annoyed with this phone lately than my old BB Pearl.
Funny thing, the opposite is happening to me. Mine connects to a wifi, stays fine but when I leave my house, the phone shows wifi as "on" even though it is not connected.
And it continue to show it as on (and not connected) until I turn wifi off and on again.

I just got the a100 from best buy with the att elevate, I kept having issues with it like going to sleep, when I go to gtalk its always connection interrupted and the wifi signal in terms action bar would go from Grey to blue.
My wifi sleep policy is never and the time out on the elevate is 60 mins.
I'm unsure if it's the a100 or elevate.

I've had the same problem with mine since purchase, but only on certain wireless routers. At home if it sits on the table for an hour untouched it will still be connected but the bars will turn grey and nothing will connect. I have a Linksys and the tablet is the only device out of 6 with this issue. My buddies Belkin will hold a proper connection with the tablet all day untouched. I have had better luck with setting a static IP address, it doesn't act up near as often anymore.
Best method I've found is to use a widget on the homescreen to turn airplane mode on when not using it, plus it saves battery. It always reconnects perfectly when coming out of airplane mode though.

I am out US on wifi only and there are a few issues i noticed. Im wondering if anyone else has the same problems.
1) If the phone is restarted it shows a full 4 bars when connected to wifi. Once the phone goes to sleep and has been sitting for a while then when I unlock the screen it says I have one bar and it performs that way. Toggling the wifi on and off has no effect the phone must be restarted to get the signal back strong.
2) The wifi reception overall generally seems weaker on my G than on other devices. In certain areas wife's Galaxy SII and my iPad both have signal of 2 bars and the G has nothing plus my G keeps disconecting from the wifi.
3) Power saving mode when the phone is down to the last 30% it turns off the wifi and turns on the LTE. Shouldnt it be the other way around!
Thx,
Mark
I have just got a note 2 LTE from Vodafone and the wifi seems to be constantly connected all the time if i'm in range of a network. I have checked all the standard settings wifi never on with screen off, *#0011# wifi deep sleep on etc and still my battery info was a solid blue line under wifi.
Does anyone else have this problem? or any suggestions?
I am starting to think it's the Vodafone Bloatware thats installed that maybe keeping the wifi one?
You mean to say that the wifi is always on even if you are not in a range of network?
That's normal behaviour.
this is XXXDDDAAA
Hi
This is normal for both wifi and bluetooth if you have them activated. Doesn't suck much battery though as I'm at 1% when in deep sleep with both running.
Send from my GNote 2 what else...
So I've had this problem for awhile now with the wifi disconnecting itself during standby. The other day I decided to start fresh and went did a complete wipe and reflashed CM (10.1 RC).
The problem did not present itself during the 1st or 2nd day, however yesterday I noticed the wifi signal bar went grey for a second and reconnected. So I checked my radio version and noticed it was a few months behind, downloaded the latest and flashed it. Problem didn't show up until the next day where the wifi signal briefly turned grey and reconnected.
Wifi settings are set to always stay on when screen is off and I've tried almost every combo of settings in the wifi menu to stop it. This is fairly annoying since when I have wifi turned on I do not get texts since I use GV. Yes, I can turn off wifi and use my phone's internet, but I have bad signal here and the speeds are extremely slow.
I'm not sure what the problem could be, I always thought it was a bad flash the first time I did it and it was a bug. I thought wiping everything and flashing an RC would fix the problems.
Any thoughts on what could be causing it? I'm on stock CM with no custom kernels.
Usually I can resolve my own issues, but this time I need some help.
My 360 disconnects from my phone often (about 20 times a day). Sometimes it will reconnect immediately, sometimes I have to toggle bluetooth, sometimes I have to reboot both phone and watch.
On one occasion, my phone forgot the watch all by itself, like it wasn't even there. I had to factory reset the watch in order to reconnect.
I've tested thoroughly and can confirm this is only happening while my phone is connected to my home wifi. While on data or other wifi networks (both 2.4 and 5 ghz bands), the issue is non-existent.
My phone (Moto X 2014) is running 5.1 stock and rooted. I greenify Facebook only. I use Tasker but do not have any wifi-specific profiles set.
The watch is running 5.1.1 and I'm using the latest Android Wear. I tried rolling back a few versions but no change.
My router is running the latest firmware (Verizon router provided with Fios), and I've tried broadcasting in different channels.
Kind of at my wits end, here. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
Well, it happened again last night - out of nowhere I received a pairing request from my watch. The phone had just forgotten it, and I wasn't able to re-pair without performing a reset of the watch.
Steps taken since then:
1. Set wifi to channel 1
2. Set wifi to 802.11/n
3. Uninstalled Wear Mini Launcher (provides notification when phone and watch disconnect... I suspect it might be causing issues)
I've been at work and connected to wifi for 2 hours, no problems. At home, I'd have disconnected twice by now.
Argh!
Hi
Did you sort this issue?
I've noticed it on my Moto 360/ Moto X 2014 as well.
When I connect both wifi and bluetooth and then disable Bluetooth my phone complains that Android Wear has disconnected and to tap the alert to reconnect, which I do but I'm not sure if it does anything.
Then I've noticed my watch will drop wifi connection every now and then but after a bit of messing around in the settings I found an option under Wifi settings/ Advanced called Power Save which I've adjusted to the longest time possible (180 minutes), it was previously set to 30 minutes and I'm guessing the watch was disconnecting from my Wifi network when it hit this.
I've only just done this though so I don't know if it'll solve the frequent disconnect issues, however i'll still have to reconnect the Watch after 180 minutes.
