Im just wondering if any of you guys use heytell and are having any problems on the s3 with it?I am having a problem which i think is releated to the g,3g,e,h and h+ changing? If im in one spot it seem to be o.k. but if im using it in my van as im driving about it keeps getting stuck sending my messages????I used this on my old desire and didnt have this problem so fairly sure its somthing to do with the phone???Any one know of a fix or anything i can try??Ive emailed the dev and they sent this?
Hello!
It may be that the phone was configured by default to block 3G data
connectivity for third-party apps. Go to Menu > System Settings > Data
Usage and update the settings there to ensure that data isn't blocked
for third party apps like HeyTell. Also, if you're using any "battery
saver" or "network saver" apps, be sure to do the same within their
settings.
Thanks for contacting us and for using HeyTell!

Hi,
I tried looking at the search results but couldn't find anything to help with this.
I recently followed this guide: How I tweak, mod and hack my Defy and went through every step as detailed, no problems.
I've recently noticed that Market doesn't work. When I try and load it up it comes up with the Terms of Use page, but it never loads. The Market app still shows in my applications draw, but when I go to Settings > Applications > Manage. I don't see Market there?
Could someone point me in the right direction.
Thanks
I had the same problem
Im guessing your connected with wifi?
I was stuck with loading screen for terms of usage aswell using wifi
but with 3g connection i got past that loading screen and market began to work,
only had to do it once ...from there on it works with wi-fi
(PS: if from that point on u use factory reset, ull have to do that again)
Same for me. Just use your 3G connection to get started. Should start up market.

Thanks, it seems like a common problem every time I root the phone. I am now using the 3.4.2 ROM and I had the same problem, but for some reason Android Market now works fine after accepting the TOS with 3G. It's kinda weird. meh
Cheers
On data?
I've tried both Avast firewall and Droidwall, checking off different apps each time, but they all ended up connecting to the internet as if they were never blocked.
But when I switched to wifi, the filter/blacklist works again.
Is anyone having similar problems or ICS comes with a secret function of bypassing firewall on data?
I'm running stock ICS 4.02, rooted of course. Thanks
Update: I found out that if I uncheck set mobile data limit under data usage, all my firewall apps work again.
So could anyone confirm/find out if this newly implemented function in ICS kinda interferes with the firewall filters used in most apps now?
Firewall
I haven't used anything else but eNETraffic. Works great if you notice to switch firewall on

Thanks. I will try it when I get home.
Just wondering if anyone had similar problems or knows what's the problem here.
Edit: It's not working too.
OMG this is driving me nuts, together with the 20% battery drain/hour.

I've Galaxy nexus also, and was facing your problem, but thanks to your update below, yes, if you uncheck the data limit box the firewall works fine (I'm using droidwall)
LBE ....
LBE Privacy Guard works with with Data Limit on or off. Not had any problems with it and been running for a couple of weeks now. Always used to use Droidwall before this issues.
Details on the issue with Droidwall and a manual fix here
LBE - here
I am currently roaming in The Netherlands (I am on a T-Mobile UK contract at home), and I have been using WhatsApp messenger to send messages back home when I am on WiFi at the house I am staying at.
With T-Mobile I can buy a 50Mb Roaming Data bundle, which I am considering doing at the moment so I can use WhatsApp when I am out and about, however, I am concerned that other Apps will eat away at the data and it will last no time.
Is there anyway (perhaps by installing a Firewall?) I can set my phone up so only WhatsApp Messenger can access the internet when I am on a Cellular connection and ignore it when on WiFi?
Thanks for any help you can give?

The only solution I can think of is turn off sync and freeze apps that might consume data unknowingly. Maybe somebody has a better solution because I would like to know as well.
butter and jelly please...
i'm not sure of droidwall's capabilities, but i would think you could block everything except 1 app.

Just installed DroidWall actually, seems to do the job! Needs root though!
Thanks

Are u trying to prevent background data??? And only have foreground data???
If you want to prevent apps from using dataconnection in the background you can use stock android tools:
Settings -> Data usage -> klick on a app -> uncheck background data ...
More powerful are root apps like DroidWall or LBE Privacy Guard.
Hello everyone!
I don't know why, but since last week the battery drains faster than it has before. There is no apparent reason for it. There is only one anomaly, one process that seems to use a lot of the cellular network, and that is the WhatsApp...
How can I examine this further on an unrooted phone??
Thx in advanced !
If the cellular network at your place is weak, your phone will use more power energy to maintain network connection. In such case, I think you'd better install the app named Greenify to stop Whatsapp from background running.

That's the thing... It's not weak. It just drains the battery more than it had before for some unknown and not apparent reason at all.
i was having a problem like that, i turned up mobile data and using only whatsapp, with a big battery drain, the solution for me was disable fast telephony from the hidden menu in the telephone and now the problem is gone
I guess "fast telephony" = "fast dormancy", right?

Let us know if it works.
Disabling fast dormancy is ok if your carrier does not implement it otherwise if they do you want it on. Given your problem happened suddenly i doubt that is the reason.
When people have problems with whats app. clear cache or failing that, reinstalling the app has fixed it.

Well, it doesn't seem to have any effect on the usage of mobile data of the WhatsApp app...
Also clearing the cache and uninstalling and reinstalling the app didn't have the desired effect.
Any other solutions?
@spartan do you have any ideas ?
Hey All, long time lurker here, but totally stumped this time.
So I've got my 10 and I love it, but in recent days it has only been syncing Gmail/Inbox when I'm connected to WiFi, but not over mobile data. I show 4-5/5 bars and LTE service, plus I can browse on the internet so I know it's not a mobile service issue.
Is this happening to anyone else? Is this just like a battery saving option? Did I just accidentally change some setting for this? I've checked all the AutoSync and accounts settings, but couldn't find anything...

Has anyone any idea on this? Myself along with two other people I know with HTC 10 US unlocked devices are having the same issue. However even on Wi-Fi the only way we get any gmail is if we go into the app, or turn off the battery saver. Only way to get gmail on data is by opening the app. Also, it's not carrier related, we are on two different carriers
