Anyone heard of this case? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Just found this case, looks like a morhie case.. Thoughts on it?

Hyperion makes batteries, I have never had good luck with them though. This is an interesting case though, sort of like the iPhone ones. Might be worth a shot. If anyone buys/has this please let me know how it works.

Unless you need it in a hurry buy one of the cheap ones off eBay.

There is a review for it on YouTube. And saw it on here a while back too. Kinda sucks.

I've heard good things about Hyperion batteries, but the build quality of their battery doors usually suck. I wouldn't spend money on this. For the price of that battery case, you can get an external portable 6000 mAH charger to charge your Nexus on the go.

Run away.
These external battery cases charge the battery with a battery and they don't even boost battery life by 40%, much less 100% like they claim.

Don't expect it to do any wonder. Jused a Mugen battery on my N97 back in the days and it had the same battery life as the standard Nokia battery.
/CK
99!!! Too expansive.
Here's 3500mAh with normal price.
Mugen with overprice battery.
I used one of these "extended batteries" for my previous phone.. Didn't work very well.. Maybe this one is better
I lol @ anyone who thinks that a 8$ extended battery is actually any better than the stock one Possibly even worse.

On my previous phone 6$ battery with 3500mAh worked much longer than stock battery.
I might get this battery. I am getting a decent amount of battery life now. I want to see how fat the mofo will be first!
I've used a 3200mAh from Mugen for my Desire and it worked fine. Will try this one, should give you round about one business week.
I keep you in touch when I got it.
Had an excellent experience with the same battery for SGS and definitely going to buy this one for my SGS II!!!
Mugen batteries are quality batteries.
If a 1650mAh samsung battery costs about 50$, then 99$ for double the power is a logical price.
mugen makes great batteries. bought one for my nexus one and it works great. you take risk buying those el cheapos on ebay. not all are bad, but by the time you finish buying one that is rated at face value you might end up spending $99. haha.
And your beautiful slim-lined phone is gone...
No thanx!
who needs slim? some people like meat on their phones. and for them to keep going and going all night long.
I just pulled the trigger! Got it directly from mugen which ships on the 15th:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...ung-galaxy-s-ii-si9100-with-battery-door.html
I've used their extended batteries for the nexus one, the G2x and the Atrix and all of them have been awesome. I'm not really bothered by the thickness or weight of the phone as some do. I prefer the extended battery life. Didn't think twice about this one.

Yeah it will. Mugen makes very good batteries.
The only issue now is to see how many MM they've added onto it! It looks pretty ugly right off the top. But that's OK I guess.
I get 1 full day of usage off of the stock battery. So the extended will give me 2 days as it's just under 2x the power.
15.5 mm with the mugen accessories. so almost double thickness.
srsly?
Nearly 100 quid to make your phone look ugly as hell?
I easily get 2 days out of my battery, no need to dismember it like that.

And do you actually USE your phone? Yesterday mine was on standby for about 24 hours with 1 hour of screen usage in the 24 hours. This morning I woke up, I had 65% left. Which is fine! Perfect. But with me actually using my phone all day? I'll get 18 hours. Now! Imagine playing games and streaming content all day with that huge battery hehe.
I like the battery, I won't like the design of the phone much afterwards. I'll wait for someone to get it and take lots of pictures and even a video review. I'm not dying right now for battery life Not to mention, an OEM battery is about 24 euros. So I could get essentially 3 OEM batteries for less than the price of the Mugen!
Interested.....
Waiting for opinion on the batery
Cheers

well, i posted in another thread but basically i have the seidio 1600mah battery and there's practically no difference in that compared to the stock 1500 battery. that being the case, i highly doubt the 1750 is going to be much of a difference either.
then again, i am a heavy user and can kill my seidio 1600 in just over 2 hours of solid activity.
I post the same question in another forum but I guess nobody haven't try it yet....
I was wondering about this one, or the mytouch 1650. Can people please enlighten us?
From the research I did before buying the VZW extended battery the actual life of the Seidio batteries appears to be less than the stock battery, regardless of the claims.
That being said I do own a Seidio battery but have not noticed an increase in battery life.
My roomate just got this battery so I can ask her if she is noticing a difference. I personally just bought another stock battery and swap out when they die. I can usually go through the whole day if I switch 4g off when I am not using it.
I did however, buy the Seidio battery charger which works great with the stock batteries.

Galaxy Nexus After Market / Third Party Batteries with NFC

Has anyone found any on Ebay or else where that have maintained true NFC functionality?
I've seen a few on Ebay but the labeling is so "China town," I don't know if I trust them.
(no offense to any Chinese )
Did you try Amazon? I think Seidio makes some.

If you want extended look for Hyperion brand. Got it on eBay for $20 and the nfc works great. Battery life more than doubled too. Well worth it.

The most reliable battery makers are
Seidio
Mugen
Both have 3800 - 4000mAH batteries available with NFC support. Will cost ~$90 though.
Do NOT get the cheap-o batteries selling on ebay.

Those battery are also made in China. You just pay more for their brand.
And those two brand don't even have their own factory.

Hyperion review
Just got this that arrived yesterday morning:
http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Exte...APABILITIES/dp/B007C8XRJY/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_t_1
I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, after reading reviews, because the cover that came with my snapped right on, with no problem whatsoever. I started fitting it at the bottom and worked my way around snapping the clips in and wala - perfect fit.
I also bought this cover:
http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Exte...ompatible/dp/B0083HHU5A/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_img_2
It's black/honeycombed and fits perfectly over the new back, giving the whole phone a factory made look. The only "negative" to it, is the volume buttons and the on/off buttons are now alot more sensitive - the cover goes over them and it doesn't take much now to depress one of the buttons - I'm actually liking it more, as I get used to it, but I imagine you could carve the rubber off at the buttons with a knife if it bothered anyone.
Anyway, after reading the little card that comes with it and the "charge it for 12 hours, kill it 4 or 5 times cycling" - I plugged it in and after about 2 hrs, it was saying fully charged. I needed to use my phone, so I turned it on - made a couple phone calls with it and decided just to use it. I read cycling doesn't matter with a Li battery anyway, and I was just excited to see if this thing was for real.
It's 10:43 the next morning - my battery has 19% left on it and it has been on the battery for 18hrs, 8mins when I unplugged it yesterday!!! I am a heavy user too - all throughout yesterday, played a few games, many visits to facebook, web surfing texting, 10 or so short phone calls - then again this morning, surfing the web for a good 1.5-2hrs gathering news.
All I can say, is this is unheard of - I've NEVER been able to do this on the stock battery. I'm going to run this all the way down today, so I'll post back when it actually shuts down, but it's for real folks - order it! I'm thinking about ordering another one for backup - I'll only have to charge once a week!

In this case, quality matters. I've already researched the differences. You won't be getting as good battery life as the one's from Seidio or Mugen. Please do the research before saying such things, as you're misleading others.
It's already been confirmed that the cheap Ebay batteries are of low quality.
Just because it's Made in China, doesn't reflect the quality of the build. Seriously? Everything is made in China...
Look through the posts on this forum about the ebay batteries. Almost everyone says they found barely a difference with extended battery.

Your statement doesn't stand. You're insinuating that the cheap-o Ebay batteries are just as good as the Branded Seidio / Mugen batteries, when that is clearly not the case.
Shifting the goal posts aren't ya. Seriously, stop spreading misinformation. I gave you at least 3 sources from various forum members that concurred the battery life discrepancy is vastly different between the generic and branded ones. (Mugen/Seidio)
Did you provide a source showing that the generic ones off of eBay have as good or better quality than the branded ones? Looks like no.
I have sources to back my claim up, you have, well, none.
example of a bad battery (trexcell)
http://www.amazon.com/Trexcell-Samsung-Compliant-Extended-Compatible/dp/B007EZ2PU2
and FYI, Seidio uses battery cells made from Japan.
I have both the seidio and the hyperion NFC batteries and they both work well for me. Can't complain about either of them. 5 hours plus screen on time usually. Yeah yeah, mod this kernel and underclock/volt that kernal and "I can get that on stock"...well I can't. I like the bigger battery as well.

So, is there any NFC-battery somewhere around 2-3k mAh? I'd love to get some more hours in between every recharge (i can barely get home from work before the phone wants to die), but the ~3,8k batteries just makes the phone too bulky for my taste..

[Q] Mugen Power 4600mAh battery for S3? Review?

I found this thread where G1_enthusiast reviewed Anker and Seidio batteries for S3, but I also found the 4600mAh battery from Mugen Power earlier than these, and ordered it.
All I head is that cheap batteries are made out of almost expired materials and work for like 200 charge cycles, which explains their price. The expensive ones like Mugen or Seidio work for 400-500 charges, which is better, but would be awesome if some one could review the 4600mAh one. I will post my results later when I receive it, but I don't have experience in doing such tests.

reason why they are not popular is the price tag, i used to think their company is out of japan but in fact they are base out of hong kong (people tend to think china stufff are ****ty). so what make their battery better than anker or hyperion? having say that, i have own their battery before (G2 and SGS2) and they do make battery longer than stock. however i was not into crazy testing at the time. i will not pay 100 bucks for battery again, as long as anker is in bussiness.

Well, as I head many times and experienced myself on older phones (I have a 3900mAh from Mugen for Nexus S that works for 1.5 years already) - industry standards cannot produce a good quality battery and sell it for 10$. Those batteries are usually made out of expired materials. The issue here is not just the capacity but the battery life cycle. Cheap batteries have confirmed to last for 100-200 charges, however batteries from Seidio or Mugen last for 400-600 charges, not to say about warranty and safety + NFC support.
Also, for me personally customer support and brand presence is more important than being cheap. If I can afford a phone that costs 800$, I surely can get a good quality battery for a 100$. I will get the battery soon, btw, and will let you know.
I also posted this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30770441&postcount=85
I wonder if the Mugen battery will work with the extended cases that are being offered. I got one from Hyperion that I like. Judging by pictures it looks like the Mugen extended door may be a little bigger or designed different.
If the Mugen would fit with the other extended doors and TPU cases I would buy it. I've had great luck with them,

If a cheap extended battery lasts for 200 charges and I charge it every 2 days, it's still going to last over a year. I expect to have a new phone by this time next year if not sooner. So what's the big deal?

That is why you go for tested name brand but not super expensive. a mugen costs more than 5 times what a hyperion, qcell, etc. costs. but it is very unlikely they will last 5 times as many charges. there is nothing like a fresh battery!
Well, they're always out of stock...I guess they never back back-logs. Anyways, I've received my S3 battery and now I need to calibrate the phone according to their instruction. They say that it's necessary to charge 4-5 times for 8-12 hours before the phone recognizes the new capacity. Does anyone know why?

How about you start by telling us where you go these batteries? As for NFC, it stands for Near Field Communications. It can be used in a way to pay for items, or bumping phones together to share information, such as pictures, contacts, etc. I am not a fan of it, I always have it turned off in my phone settings.

yeah i wish to know as well, seen these tonight on ebay and i will buy them but just wanted to see if anyone else has first. was gonna get the £6.99 single one first as a test. It does say on the sticker under the battery 2100mah so just wondering if running a 3200mah would be detrimental? or is it one of those things manufacturers do and have very large tolerances just to be on the safe side so as not have flaming s3 videos on youtube.
don't these cheap batteries pose a risk of leaking in the phone or something? Like what if the damage the phone!?

What, where did you hear that? The only thing I have seen people have to worry about with cheap batteries is how much of a charge they hold and how well they actually work. I have seen batteries malfunction due to ****ty car chargers before though but never just a battery fail while in a phone minus ghost stories from trolls on the internet.

mAh has nothing to do with the amount of current or voltage so I don't know what you mean by manufacturers having large tolerances?? And it wouldn't be detrimental, it would add to your battery life. (as long as the mAh claims are accurate)
Bought this.

these are surely too good to be true? 3200mah in a standard size?
yeah no need for a new back cover
Can anybody say something about how long does the phone works with this battery?
definitely need to get me one of these.
too good to be true
hey i just made some fast research on the seller of the item
i cant link the url apparently because i jus made the account but go ahead and check the ebay sellers' (utigertech) feedback. They are not good.
in short, this battery is fake and some user feedback states that it does not last even longer than the stock 2100mah samsung oem battery
so dont be fooled. If its too good to be true then its probably too good to be true
cheers boys
Testing of MPJ 3200mah Battery for S3
I have purchased one of the MPJ 3200 mah batteries for the Galaxy S3. I have bench tested the battery over 7 days with multiple charges and discharges.
The results are that the battery is approximately 2000 mah it does not even come close to 3200 mah. The sellor is being misleading on the mah and you are better off buying a standard battery as it has 2100 mah and NFC.
I will try and test a few more batteries in the next couple of weeks..

Thanks for running the tests. Aftermarket battery sellers are notorious for jacking up the mAh rating.

Superfake, unless they've developed some new kind of technology. Don't think so though lol

I'm amazed that so many people get sucked in by these fake batteries. There is no battery technology out there that lets you increase the capacity without increasing the size.
