hello
i did this guide to my arc s lt18a 2.3.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18805560#post18805560
in the end of the rooting i get the massage that "All Done..press key to continue"
after the phone reboot himself i didnt notice any superuser (like the phone just do a normal reboot)
i installed root checker and the result was "sry this device does not have proper root access"
what to do?
p.s i did a bootloader hack
second question
if i want to installed the "mooded rom" i can do it without a root?
i try to put the rom into the phone but i just see in the computer the external sd card. i dont find the 1gb internal card
thanks guys and sry for my english.
No custom ROMs without root.
Also most of them require unlocked bootloader.
If you want to root your Arc and it is on GB, the best is to use DoomLorD's rooting script.
If you have unlocked bootloader and don't want to do much, get RootXperia.zip from somewhere and flash it through CWM.
thanks for the comment.
my bootloader is already unlocked.
but i don't understand what to do for rooting.
i tried the "DoomLorD's" but nothing happens.
flash it through CWM

what that mean?
do you mean to install it from sd card?
how i can enter to the cwm?
how i can put the file into the internal storage in the phone? i just see the external sd card.
thanks!

If you don't have a custom kernel with CWM, search for a hotbootable Recovery mode. Flash RootXperia.zip once there.
Also there are a lot of Stock and Custom ROMs pre-rooted so you don't have to do anything.
thanks.
Can I install a ROM while it is on external SD card? because my phone doesnt allow me to put any files on the internal memory (actually i can see the internal storage drive in my computer.. just the external sd card).
thanks
Yes, keep the ROM.zip on your SD card. And then flash it using CWM.

You will need to use the sd card method of flashing from bootloader.

How do I do that?
You mean I have to cook a new ROM with zipped NK.nb1 (SD-card flashing) then hard reset and the installation will begin???
hi. yes. you the only one way like others suggested, you need a SD card. cook the rom or go to http://www.yorch.net choose the rom that match your os. Then us XDAtool to install the rom you want to SD card. check posts for how to install rom image to SD Card using XDA tool.

rooting and s-off has nothing to do with any files on your sd card, so this isnt a problem

the sd card isnt mounted until 60 - 90 seconds after device boots, so no important files relating to android are stored on the sd card

Ok, thanks for the info bro..
My Droid Incredible reboots itself and never gets into the home screen. Is there a way to recover files stored on the internal memory so that I can reload the dam thing.
Factory OS, never rooted or flashed.
How you tried removing the battery and powering the phone back up?
Yes, multiple times. It boot loops, you here it says Droid then it reboot itself over and over.
Maybe a bad SD card? You could try replacing it, and make sure it's formatted FAT32. If not that, hardware failure of some type?
Theres no SD card in it. Do you think I can root the phone then install recovery then mount the internal storage to recover the files i need? Will that work without it being reloaded?

No SD card, how come?
You'll need an SD card if you want to root it. Rooting it doesn't format internal storage or the SD card. However, I don't know if you'll be able to root it if it is just rebooting, and not coming to the home screen.
You may be able to download the stock image zip, put it on the SD card, boot into the bootloader to restore the stock image. This would set up the phone as it was out of the box. I am unsure as to what will happen to the things on the internal storage of the phone, or if it'll even let you restore the stock image zip file...?
Hmmm...well I have SD cards. I wonder is there a way to recover the files on the internal storage?
If I had a SD card.
Is it possible to root it, then install recovery. Mount the internal storage for file extraction?

To root, you have to run Unrevoked. You could try that, but I don't know if it'll work since the phone just constantly reboots. When I've run Unrevoked to root, the phone sits @ it's home screen, and Unrevoked does it's thing and reboots the phone as needed. Since yours is rebooting, I don't know if it would take the rooting process.
Thank you.

Do you have USB debugging enabled?
Have you pulled down your notification bar and selected what type of connection you would like?
Can you read it still on the phone when booted up properly? Like in a file explorer

I hv a xperia m (C1904) and hv updated to stock firmware 4.3 (15.4.A.1.9). I hv also rooted it via towelroot and hv used root checker pro to find that "your device has proper root access". Now when i use this method to transfer files to sd card via link2sd by this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142844
it does not work. As sooon i create the mount script (on ext2 partiton) my phone automatically boots and gets stuck on bootloop. When i remove my sd card it boots normal. No clue.
So i tried Foldermount (again bootloop), GL to sd (again bootloop), apps2sd, still no succees..
P.S; i am using SanDisk 16 Gb class 10 mmc.
P.s; if the solution is to flash a custom ftf, then i hv another question, i can't download ftf files, when i click "download anyway" on google drive (any ftf file) the google chrome takes over the download and it always goes above 50% and then fails (sometime at 60% sometime at 50% like this..)
It always fails downloading,,,,,,..
plz help me...
P.s; I hv a locked bootloader..

Hello there. I've addressed this issue on my help thread here . Link2SD doesn't work in your case. There is one other way.

Swap Memory...
Link2SD Problam
App2SD is not supported by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. You can link the app in order to move its files to your SD card.
device sony m dual android 4.3
What can I do?
Thanks
It is because u haven't got the full root. What u have done with towel root is just the half root. Look up for the full rooting method using towel root thread

As mentioned, find a root fix and apply it.
After that, swap your memory. Either by script or init.d.

Reboot Fix is no longer required on 4.3.
At least the stock update fixed my reboot issues.

i completely unroot my phone and then full-rooted it by towel root, busybox and remountreboot fix....ok that's fine...but now i create a partition in my mmc and install link2sd and create mount script...the phone reboots with success...but only linking is possible ...the move 2 sd option is now highlighted but it says "Apps2sd is not supported by ur device..."" fine i'm using gl to sd....now...thanks for the help...
