Do you have USB debugging enabled?
Have you pulled down your notification bar and selected what type of connection you would like?
Can you read it still on the phone when booted up properly? Like in a file explorer

So periodically my phone loses the ability to access the SD Card.
Can't play media... Ringtone's revert to default... Apps that use it like pandora stop working...
Only way I know to fix it is to reboot. (Or you can plug into a computer if you're near one, mount the SD card and unmount it)
WTF...
I've tried formatting the SD Card. It's the stock card that came with the Epic.
Any ideas?

Mabe the contacts are dirty or dirt got into the phone. Try an air sprayer on the phone and use something slightly abrasive on the sd card contacts.
Indeed, that does sound like bad/loose contacts.
I just got my Epic today and I haven't rooted it yet. I've installed the drivers on my PC and I'm able to browse the root directory, but I don't see a way to get to the SD card. Do I have to root to do this? I don't think I had to on my EVO (but it is rooted). I just want to be able to put ringtones, wallpapers and then some files so that I can root it later.
Any help appreciated.

Ah. Thanks. I figured it out after I typed it.
I used to BONSAI on the WM6.5 Diamond, but never used it on Android. Didn't know it was available.[Looks like you might be talking about a game... I misunderstood. There used to be a total backup app/scripts for WM that would allow you to reset all your apps/data on your phone after a flash and it was called BONSAI.]
Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get my PC to recognize that I'm connected w/USB debugging enabled. I run run.bat and keep getting told that I'm not connected. Silly PC.
I'm almost positive that this question can be answered with common sense...but just in case:
My SD card is running low on memory and I was wondering about whether or not I can delete the ROM .zip folder from my SD card after flashing it. Or does the .zip folder need to be on the card for the ROM to boot up? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!

Yes you can if you have already installed the zip. You can also remove nandroid backups if you have them on your computer. You can push them all back to the phone while connected and in recovery.

Thank you. I don't really mess around with adb just because my computer and my phone do not get along at all. It won't even recognize my SD card when I connect it through the phone. I have to put the card in a special SD card reader.

Actually if you're using Amon Ra recovery (recommended by every dev I've seen), you can access your sd card on your pc using the "USB toggle" menu option. (Saved me once when I accidentally wiped my sd card before flashing a new rom).
Of course if you still can't access the sd using that option, then that's a hardware issue, yes?
I tried to install a new ROM, but forgot to put the .zip file in my SD card. Now i'm stuck at the screen: Free Xperia project, xdadevelopers.. How can I get this away? I put the .zip file in my SD card, but had to power down my phone first, so now its useless..
Please help me

I am facing the similar problem, I am struck in FreeXperia logo on screen. Device seems to recognised.
I am facing similar problem as I have to push .zip to /sdcard/ location. After a long process I was able to see devices when I executed "adb devices". But now I can't push .zip files because of permission problems. I get Permission denied. How to fix it.. ??
Laptop should have SD card slot, insert your micro SD card into laptop SD card slot with the help of SD card adapter then put into SD card then put your micro SD card back to your phone, boot into recovery then install.

If you are using the SD card that came with your phone, you probably need to reformat it properly. See if your computer can read the SD card. If so, copy everything off of it and onto your computer hard drive in a safe place. Then install and run this application: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/ and use it to format the SD card. (Do not use Windows's built-in stuff to format the card, it won't fix it.)
After the format is done, copy everything back to the card, and then back into the phone and try it again.

Well the card has NOTHING on it.... I have no clue and CWM states no files either.
I have this gut feeling I just bricked my phone as even I cannot get it into download mode CMW just keeps coming up nice and BLUE ...
UPDATE : I am able to use CWM it seems I tried adding a ROM to the SD card and reinserting yet Nothing... I have the feeling the system is wiped also... IS there a zip file I can use to restore that anyone knows about... I was searching for the Orginal firmware and can't find anything.
Thanks
Larry
Hi all,
While in recovery mode, I accidentally formatted my SD card. I lost my backup and everything there.
I could not install from zip because there was no file. I tried moving a zip file into the phone, but my PC can not recognize my phone.
Any ideas on how to transfer a rom to the phone?
Any way of recovering data from the SD card?
Thanks for the help!

you need to adb to push the rom to the phone (assuming you have CWM or TWRP) installed. adb push locationofzip.zip /data/media/
you cannot recover your sd card.
Can you please explain the steps for "adb to push the rom to the phone"
I'm using CWM
Found the steps on XDA. Thanks!

Once you booted into recovery mode, were you able to access the Nexus and drag the rom into a folder?
You don't need to. You need copy the rom into the folder of toolkits then flash to the phone.
