When I slide up my keyboard it gets stuck I was wondering if there is a way to lubricate it so it slides normally again

Tear it down and remove the sand.
I'd recommend while you have it apart that the sliding mechanism get blown out with canned air, wiped clean with an alcohol wipe, dried completely, lubed up with spray silicone lubricant on a Q-Tip, and any/all excess silicone wiped with a dry Q-Tip.
Can't find a teardown video, but if you've taken apart one cell phone, you can apply the same principles to pretty much any other. Get some safety pry's, a really small Torx driver, eyeglass repair kit for the philips screws, and rubber-tipped tweezers for any ribbon-locks. Just take it slow and diagram out the entire process on a couple sheets of paper, noting step-by-step.
L4T

Know what I did? Just hold it firmly, and slide it up and down untill it feels normal again... blow on it a lot too.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I927 using XDA

I took compressed air and blew it out and now its normal

good to hear. i once (more than once...) dropped my droid 1 in a puddle and it ended up with silt or some very fine **** in the slider. it would slide ok but just the feel of it, i knew there was junk in there. i put alcohol on the sliders and opened/closed it a few times, applying the alcohol like once a day for about a week then cleaned it out with compressed air. worked great. also worked well when whiskey ended up in there!

Actually, I figured out that the sand was coming from my pockets. Lol. I knew I was more responsible with my devices than that

[Q] Best way to clean the screen?

Hey guys, was looking for effective methods that specific XPlay owners use to clean their screen. Thanks for the info!
I've just got a specsavers glasses cloth, which works fine.
I usually use a silk piece of matter and a low-concentrated soap water. I used it for years previously on PCs and laptops now on phones...never had an issue.
I always only use microfiber cloths with good results when doing a full clean. Otherwise I usually just use the shirt I have on at the moment.
I use the micro fibre cloth or whatever from my iPhone 4, its the same as the specsaver glasses fibre cloth.
Spit and your shirt to wipe it

It can be dropped from 2ft to a carpet floor and get a crack. I've dropped it on tile from about 3 ft and nothing happened. Two stories is outrageous though haha, any case or anything on it?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
dude go buy a scratcher pronto! before your luck balances out! ask a girl to show her titties! do everything! lol
I would not want to drop my phone from 4ft let alone a second floor drop..

So apparently the glass on these shatter easy. I keep a commuter series otter box on mine 24/7. Would it help prevent the screen cracking? Maybe cushion it. Or do I need to invent a see thru metal screen protector?

Keeping it clean

I'm sure that others out there have had this same problem. You love your S4 flip cover but hate how dirty it gets inside. Well I just found the solution. Rubbing alcohol! I know it sounds weird but I just tried it and it worked great. I can't take credit, I wish I could. I found an article on Life Hacker about cleaning microfiber couches with it and thought I'd give it a try. Mine was filthy and now looks way better. Any cleaning (even just water) seams to diminish the color a little, but its much better then dirty. I personally had quit using mine but now its happily back on my phone. Hope this helps someone else.

Just for those wondering, the smell goes away completely after it dries.

I use alcohol swabs to clean my phone all the time good stuff most definitely gets grease and crap off the screen too and dries extremely fast. Good call man

Tragic Accident! My fiance dropped her HTC One

Ok so me and my fiance went on a road trip to visit my family for New Years. She accidentally dropped it when getting out if the car. It hit on the bottom right corner and dented it forcing the bottom plate up. I was gonna try to fix it DIY style like I fix everything but I want a few second opinions... I was gonna use a press or something to press it back down. Lol any other ideas?

Well...personally I would heat that one up and remove it to be replaced by a new grill. Google the part and also check out a couple teardowns. You might be able to reshape that white plastic once the grill is off too. Good thing she didn't get the glass !
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
I would take a look at a teardown guide. See if you can get a busted htc one on ebay to replace the back part or just try and bend the section that is bent.
There are some tear down guides on iFixit and also on youtube. Would post links but I don't think that is allowed.
the same exact thing happened to me. Dropped the phone, dented the upper right hand corner. What i did was buy one of those invisible body shield cases and put it on.
I've taken apart a fair number of phones, etc, but after seeing how almost impossible this thing looks to dismantle? Nope. I'll just pay the deductible.

Yeah it looks like a mess. I even watched a video and I would never even attempt to do that, way too scary.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
I'm pretty sure you can't take a one apart without causing damage to the metal. It requires a special tool that only HTC has as far as I know.
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk
The one got a 1 out of 10 for fixability on some blog Lol I know not to take it apart since it's mostly glued together.
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It's not glued. Just press fit. It has a series of tension clips on the inside and separating them is near impossible without causing damage.

Actually I think it's both. Every teardown guide I've seen mentions having to heat up the phone to soften the adhesive. Here is someone on XDA that braved a teardown before sending the phone back for replacement anyway:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2353895

I saw one where the dude pulled it apart without heat, and showed there was no adhesive at all. Someone said something in the comments about how it'd be easier to use heat, and apparently this guy had done it both ways and the only difference is that using heat makes it hot as balls and hard to handle.
