tangle free headset for note - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

Does any know of good tangle free headsets where the controls work for the Note ( w/ or w/o additional software to remap the controls). I have realized, detangling a cord while driving is more dangerous than anything. Yes, bt wireless is another way to go, but I still like the always working solution of a tangle free wired cord in my pocket. Sony makes a great tangle free but it does not work for the Note.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Pull over to untangle it or do anything else like that.
Or better still, untangle it before you set off.

A jays one plus.. Tangle free.. Great quality . The single Button works for everything if u install their app.

to update my own post. I bought two since they were cheap.
As was just mentioned the
JAYS a-JAYS One+
is tangle free and has a special Android app to set the one button controller to anything. Strong reviews. $32 at amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006FTEDFI/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
I also bought
PureGear 36322PURE Pure Beats
also tangle free and on sale at amazon for $15 -has some good reviews, not sure I get all the note controls
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004X2623U/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00s
I will report back on both.
I also looked at:
the highly rated klipsch s4a made for android and higly reated , I pulled away from since most feel that is has a very tanglely sticky cord, nor good I guarantee
the controls fully work with the note ( I want skip track for sure) - there are more at $65-80
Many thought the tangle free and cheap NoiseHush NX80 were great for teh money $17 at amazon, but more ipod oriented - reports say even the apps do not allow good control remapping. They look cheap than the two I bought.
http://www.amazon.com/NoiseHush-NX80-11904-Handsfree-Stereo-Headset/dp/B007P238P0/ref=pd_sim_e_3
sony has these frankly stunning tangle free headsets sony livesound hifi - but from what I can tell they only work ( the controls that is) for the sony line of phones. If anyone gets them working with the Note let me know - they are look amazing.
http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/st...10151&productId=8198552921666417248&langId=-1
There are bluetooth tangle free headsets - but did not look at them.
Feel free to add other tangle frees to this list to make it a useful thread int he future.

+1 for the JAYS a-JAYS One+
Sony LiveSound™ Hi-Fi Headset don't work in my N7000. The common and mic are swapped electrically so the mic wont work and audio output is muffled. Plus huge remote right against your cheek is annoying... see developer.sonymobile dot com/wp/2011/10/31/emulator-now-included-in-the-livekey-sdk/magnus_helgstrand2/

I use a-jays four, better sound than the one + and with the Jays app everything is controllable.

Vibrant headphones

Does any one have vibrant headphones for sale?
Sent from my HTC Desire
I might. Just got the Vibrant and have a set of headphones I like so never even taken them out of the box. Send me a PM and we can talk. No idea on price so make an offer.
I have a never used pair from mine too.
Also have a pair that I haven't used.
I suppose you got them now...Testing them against the ones that come from hd2..hd2 has more bass and the vibrant ones are louder...I only posted this cause I recently tested them lol

There are a few OEM ones for sale on eBay too if you do a search for Samsung i9000 headphones.
Just go into a T-mobile store and see if they have any extra ones. IMO the IEMs that come with the phone are average at best. I would invest in a nice pair, I picked up a pair of Thinksound Rains for super cheap on Amazon and they are sound awesome. They are suppose to be releasing a pair with a mic on it shortly.
Im still looking im willing to pay like $15 for the headphones,i really want them

I just tried using my old iPhone headset with the Vibrant. It works just fine. I can even start and pause the music player from the mic button.
Thought I would mention this since it may be that any iPhone compatible headset will also work with the Vibrant. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks.
damnn... i never paid attention to how good the stock headphone sounds... i was ready to sell this... i must say these are some quality headphones...

These are just headphones, no mic on it. It is the same style as the ones provided and I even think you can use the same interchangeable plugs that came with the phone. I bought some and they were great.
Does anyone know where I can purchase headphones that have the interchangeable earbud sizers but also have a mic and full music control with the skip buttons (like the HD2 headphones)?
I love these:

really? these sound better than any pre-packaged headphones i have ever used.
I find that the stock headphones are far superior to most others on the Vibrant. I have a pair of very expensive sound canceling Sony ear-buds that sound like trash on my Vibrant but are great an all my other devices. If you look at the stock headphones the connector has a third band. Supposedly it emulates 5.1 surround sound. I listen to allot of music with layered tracks (Tool, MarsVolta, SOAF...) and with the stock headphones I've been hearing stuff I've never heard before. One thing I found strange with the stock headphones is that at first I had to apply a good amount of pressure on them to get them connected properly.
UPDATE
I was just thinking that other band is probably for the mute control. Either way, of the several other headphones I tried the stock sounded the best to me.
UPDATE 2
LOL, just tried my old school KOSS and they sound every bit as good as the stock. To bad they're huge!!!
I got a pair of klipsch S2m and they are great buds. $25 on amazon vs the msrp of $60.

I've found the 5.1 button to be more of a 'make what ever your listening to sound like doo-doo' button.

On an unrelated note, has anyone tried using iphone earbuds with built in audio controls on the vibrant? It just occurred to me those might work since the iphone has a similar headphone jack setup.

[Q] Looking for a good pair of wired headsets

I know there's a lot of wired headsets out there, but they all seem to be for the iphone. Especially the ones with mic and music controls. Looking to replace the crapy headset that came with the phone.
Found the Plantronics Backbeat 216. They say these are for the iphone and other smartphones with a 3.5mm jack. Wondering since the MT4Gs OEM headset has a mic and music controls, would this work? If not, can anyone recommend?
How much are you looking to spend? I'd suggest the Metrofi series by Ultimate ears. It's a top notch brand and they have a good amount with mics.
HEADSET
I've tried out a few wired headsets (5+) all in the 70 and up range and am currently using the Bose in ear set which i think are the best sound if you aren't looking for complete noise cancellation, if you are check out the Klipsch Image S4i Premium Noise-Isolating Headset with 3-Button Control
Dude .. go with skullcandys there cheap and awesome alternative to the stock ...i purchased mine from tmobile for 20 (to anxious to wait for an online order) ...good sound quality and mic works fine with my mt4g
Get thinksounds, they are the best out there. IMO skullcandies are meh.

I've used the Altec Lansing BackBeat plus Mobile that I picked up from my local Apple Store.
Tried most of them in the store but these sound the best for the price ($49.95). They are small earbuds and fit nicely in your ears. I like the cloth cords, they seem very durable and don't stick to my clothes (or each other) when I have them in.
There are bad comments in on the Apple Store for the product reviews, but those are mainly from people who complain about the sound the cloth cables make when they rub together, or from the fact they are not noise canceling like others.
Here's the link if your interested:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/TV702LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0Ng&mco=MTA4NTczMjM&s=topSellers
I'm sure you can probably pick them up for cheaper from newegg or amazon, but I didn't want to wait for them to be shipped.
Good luck with your search.
I'm currently using the Sennheiser MM 50 iP's and they work wonderfully for the under $40 price tag.
I got a new Sennheiser MM60. The sound and microphone are exceptionally good.
A side note: the button cannot end calls, but you can advance to next track with rapid double press.

[Q] Recommend good quality in ear heaphones with mic & controls

I am looking to get some good replacements for the ones that came with the S2. The best quality I can get for ~£30 which have a mic and working music controls on.
Which ones should I be looking at?
Cheers

If you can live with a one button control do, i.e. press once for play/pause, twice for next track and three for prev track then try the Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi. These pop up now and then on HUKD for just over £20. I use these with Comply foam tips and using these with Poweramp and the EQ tweaks, from the thread in general disc forum, I doubt you'll find anything better for the price.
Just checked on the UE website and the also now have earphones with vol and track buttons. I might buy a pair to try as I keep my phone under the pillow when in bed and sometimes it get's lost under there when I need to adjust the vol

Beats by Dre work with Samsung with limited functionality. I tried the stock music app, DoubleTwist, and another music app. Only the play/pause button works consistently, although I can't resume music by pressing the button sometimes... And the double press to skip works but is very inconsistent. triple press to go back does not.
But as somebody mentioned, Beats by Dre only deliver good (not great) bass and that's about it. There are cheaper earbuds that will deliver more balanced sound signatures. Klipsch S4i, Shure SE215, Audeo Perfect Fit, etc...
I have the Shure 215 as well. Those have clearer bass than Beats while not muffling highs and mids as much as the Beats..
i just buy a griffin adapter that has a very sensitive mic and controls on it then i use my own decent earbuds iam currently using Sony X-Bass MDR XB20 EX and they are great , well built , tough , good sounding headphones
the griffin i clip can be had for approx £7-£12 and then you can use any headphones instead of being limited by which ones have buttons and mic etc
Only music app which works with triple press (skip back) is Poweramp. The default and all other's I've tried only work respond to single and double press.
In Poweramp you can enable a 'beep' for every press so you know if you are pressing too quick to slow. You can also run it as a service so it resumes at button press everytime and even set options to resume at headphone and BT connect.
The BT connect is cool for when getting in to a car, no need to remove phone from pocket or bag, as soon as the stereo connects music resumes from where you paused last time.
I just grabbed a pair of Eytmotic HF2's and the single click control works for pause, jump forward and back on my 32SGS2. Find the reviews on for them Headfi. I was lucky to get them for only 100$ during a July promotion. With the money I saved (60$) I can justify paying for custom tips for super isolation and comfort. The stock Ety triple flange tips do a fine job. I also bought some Comply's and Shure olive tips, but they don't give a perfect seal.
I know we're all shooting way over your budget, but if you like the Samsung buds (which are awful) if you do get into the 100US$ range you will be absolutely blown away. Think of the extra $ as forgoing 12 Starbucks runs or one semi good restaurant outing for several years of audio bliss.

yes. i do that all the time as well as use my truck speakers with the tape adapter as my speakerphone.
I use a pair of hd sound buds I got from 5 below for, you guessed it $5. They are the best I have seen. The sound is real good and if they break I just go get another pair. They have a mic for calls too. Everyone I call says I sound real good through this headset. Cant beat $5 for a good set of buds w/ a mic. I have paid a lot more for sets that were not as good. I keep a spare set around b/c I am hard on headsets.
I use audio technica's clip on earphones, really comfortable and portable. The cable is lined with cloth, so it is a lot more sturdy than plastic or rubber, and it is near impossible to get it to tangle up, even after being tossed around in a wadded-up mess for a few days. Best headphones I have ever bought. They are a little on the expensive side, and they don't have a mic, but I listen to a lot of music, and I definitely fee like I got my money out of them.

Might wanna check out Amazon's selection of Sennheiser earbuds right now. I've always trusted in Sennheiser for great quality at a great price.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...nheiser+earbuds&rh=i:aps,k:sennheiser+earbuds
These ones:
http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-MK...YMF4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323525004&sr=8-1
are marked down from 80 to 23! And some of the reviews say 70 was a great price for the quality. The next model up retails for 120 and is on sale for 30.
Or, go to Target and get a pair of Skull Candy ink'd earbuds. They are 17 or so, and sound comparable to much more expensive sets. Was really impressed by them for paying under 20. And the noise cancellation is great, too.
I just bought a pair of sony sweet little buds:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-EX33LP-BLU-Style-Headphones/dp/B001RB24KK
They were 20 or so, and the reviews on Amazon are pretty positive, but I don't think they sound as good as the Skull Candies at all. So they are going back to the store
I find that the urbanears bags works well with a mic for 30, or the klipsch s4a sound pretty amazing for 100. the klipsch app works pretty well for controlling headphones with one button.

Koss Porta Pro's. Sound great, nice sound balance, and pretty darn affordable. They have a lifetime warranty, and I believe I saw a version with a built-in mic.
I find the klipsch s4 to be reasonably balanced, but the bass is better tuned. they are squeezing a lot out of the high end.
I think that was a very complicated way to say "i agree."

What's Bluetooth phone for great quality at a great price...? Incredible 2.
I use the Skullcandy Titan model. For only $40 they're amazing. I see no reason to go above and beyond and pay $99 or $150 for Beats when these are awesome and compare to the same quality output. They're totally worth the 40 bucks.
For daily music enjoyment riding mass transit (buses/subways or trains) - a pair of in-ear, noise-cancelling headphone/mic is what I carry/use (picked up mine from a Brookstone sale 2 years ago, iphone compatible) and it is great.
The key is to install/enable/use DSP Manager on the ROM if not stock - I can fine tune the music/video settings as needed for various boost & equalization.
For the occassional oversea/long distance air travel, I take the full-sized Sony NC headset with the cups - I just don't feel the need to spend hundreds to buy into the Bose brand.
YMMV, of course.
I use the Beats by Dr Dre ear buds. They are around $75, but the difference between these and a $5 pair is I wont have to buy a new pair next week. These baby's last.

I like my cheap headphones. The sound is as good as I need it to be, they have lasted for two years now, and if I do lose them or break them I can replace them without breaking the bank. I use them on my motorcycle, in the sauna, while I work out, work in the yard, etc. I don't know that I would be comfortable abusing an expensive pair like I do these.
For me they are just like sunglasses, the cheaper they are the more I like them and the longer they last and the more expensive ones get lost, stolen, or broken right away. It's like they have an odd niche in the market for being backwards or contrary to what one would think.

I'm looking to get a new set of headphones, wondering what everyone is using.
I'm looking for some that are less than $30-40, not looking for audiophile quality, just good solid headphones.

sorry, I should have specified, I'm looking for ear buds, to be able to put them in my pocket and carry with me. I edited original post.
I would highly suggest the NuForce NE600M ($30). It doesn't have in-line volume controls, but it has the mic and button for pausing/skipping. I don't own this model, but I do own three others from the same company (including the model that this one replaced) and they sound great and the mic is surprisingly decent considering the cost. I can't vouch for how well the self-detangling cord works, since its new to this model, but it does have it.
I can't post links yet, but just search NE600M on amazon, it comes in black, red, and lime. The NE600X ones do not have the mic.
