I am looking to get some good replacements for the ones that came with the S2. The best quality I can get for ~£30 which have a mic and working music controls on.
Which ones should I be looking at?
Cheers
I'm using MEElectronics M6-BK right now and it's a great value-buy.
Using them on my Nexus One. Good performance all around for just $22.
Just search for them on Amazon.

There was a topic for the S4i for SGSII, I believed it worked. Try searching if I don't get back soon enough. Lost mine, that's why.

If you can live with a one button control do, i.e. press once for play/pause, twice for next track and three for prev track then try the Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi. These pop up now and then on HUKD for just over £20. I use these with Comply foam tips and using these with Poweramp and the EQ tweaks, from the thread in general disc forum, I doubt you'll find anything better for the price.
Just checked on the UE website and the also now have earphones with vol and track buttons. I might buy a pair to try as I keep my phone under the pillow when in bed and sometimes it get's lost under there when I need to adjust the vol

Beats by Dre work with Samsung with limited functionality. I tried the stock music app, DoubleTwist, and another music app. Only the play/pause button works consistently, although I can't resume music by pressing the button sometimes... And the double press to skip works but is very inconsistent. triple press to go back does not.
But as somebody mentioned, Beats by Dre only deliver good (not great) bass and that's about it. There are cheaper earbuds that will deliver more balanced sound signatures. Klipsch S4i, Shure SE215, Audeo Perfect Fit, etc...
I have the Shure 215 as well. Those have clearer bass than Beats while not muffling highs and mids as much as the Beats..
i just buy a griffin adapter that has a very sensitive mic and controls on it then i use my own decent earbuds iam currently using Sony X-Bass MDR XB20 EX and they are great , well built , tough , good sounding headphones
the griffin i clip can be had for approx £7-£12 and then you can use any headphones instead of being limited by which ones have buttons and mic etc
Only music app which works with triple press (skip back) is Poweramp. The default and all other's I've tried only work respond to single and double press.
In Poweramp you can enable a 'beep' for every press so you know if you are pressing too quick to slow. You can also run it as a service so it resumes at button press everytime and even set options to resume at headphone and BT connect.
The BT connect is cool for when getting in to a car, no need to remove phone from pocket or bag, as soon as the stereo connects music resumes from where you paused last time.
I just grabbed a pair of Eytmotic HF2's and the single click control works for pause, jump forward and back on my 32SGS2. Find the reviews on for them Headfi. I was lucky to get them for only 100$ during a July promotion. With the money I saved (60$) I can justify paying for custom tips for super isolation and comfort. The stock Ety triple flange tips do a fine job. I also bought some Comply's and Shure olive tips, but they don't give a perfect seal.
I know we're all shooting way over your budget, but if you like the Samsung buds (which are awful) if you do get into the 100US$ range you will be absolutely blown away. Think of the extra $ as forgoing 12 Starbucks runs or one semi good restaurant outing for several years of audio bliss.

Does any one have vibrant headphones for sale?

I might. Just got the Vibrant and have a set of headphones I like so never even taken them out of the box. Send me a PM and we can talk. No idea on price so make an offer.
I have a never used pair from mine too.
Also have a pair that I haven't used.
I suppose you got them now...Testing them against the ones that come from hd2..hd2 has more bass and the vibrant ones are louder...I only posted this cause I recently tested them lol

There are a few OEM ones for sale on eBay too if you do a search for Samsung i9000 headphones.
Just go into a T-mobile store and see if they have any extra ones. IMO the IEMs that come with the phone are average at best. I would invest in a nice pair, I picked up a pair of Thinksound Rains for super cheap on Amazon and they are sound awesome. They are suppose to be releasing a pair with a mic on it shortly.
Im still looking im willing to pay like $15 for the headphones,i really want them

I just tried using my old iPhone headset with the Vibrant. It works just fine. I can even start and pause the music player from the mic button.
Thought I would mention this since it may be that any iPhone compatible headset will also work with the Vibrant. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks.
damnn... i never paid attention to how good the stock headphone sounds... i was ready to sell this... i must say these are some quality headphones...

Does anyone know where I can purchase headphones that have the interchangeable earbud sizers but also have a mic and full music control with the skip buttons (like the HD2 headphones)?

really? these sound better than any pre-packaged headphones i have ever used.
I find that the stock headphones are far superior to most others on the Vibrant. I have a pair of very expensive sound canceling Sony ear-buds that sound like trash on my Vibrant but are great an all my other devices. If you look at the stock headphones the connector has a third band. Supposedly it emulates 5.1 surround sound. I listen to allot of music with layered tracks (Tool, MarsVolta, SOAF...) and with the stock headphones I've been hearing stuff I've never heard before. One thing I found strange with the stock headphones is that at first I had to apply a good amount of pressure on them to get them connected properly.
UPDATE
I was just thinking that other band is probably for the mute control. Either way, of the several other headphones I tried the stock sounded the best to me.
UPDATE 2
LOL, just tried my old school KOSS and they sound every bit as good as the stock. To bad they're huge!!!
I got a pair of klipsch S2m and they are great buds. $25 on amazon vs the msrp of $60.

problem solved. gonna use the ones that came with our phones. bass is solid, and so far they are pretty good at blocking noise.
if i find the mic/vol controls to not be worth it, i'll just buy a pair of half decent earbuds without mic control. if the OEM samsung earbuds dont provide me with mic control that I like, I doubt any expensive off market buds will do me justice.

If you want BOSE, they make a mobile headset that has mic and volume controls. It's called the MIE2i. Also, Beats make a pair called the iBeats. They are an in ear headset with GREAT sound. I own both and use them interchangeably. I will say though I give the MIE2i's a slight edge because the eargels are the most comfortable I've ever worn.
BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment
Klipsch S4A, made for android. S4i sounds good, when mine need replacing, I'll buy S4A's.

As far as in-ears under $100 are concerned (which Im assuming your asking for) I like the NuForce NE-700M over the Klipch s4a. Ive had them both and i feel like the highs are more crisp and it has a bit more low frequency extension.
Also if you care about bass more than clarity the AIAIAI Swirl have plenty of bump and an excellent asthetic.

Do either of those work with Android as well as S4A? To me, that's a big selling point. My S4i's are perfectly suitable sound-wise, but the lack of control sucks.

The NuForce has one button/mic combo. One press pauses/plays, two presses skips the track. The button is honestly a little flimsy though so if button is your number one concern
As for the AIAIAI it looks like the new one has 3 buttons but i cant attest to how well it works as i had an old version of the swirl with only one. I can say that AIAIAI's whole deal is that they are really well designed as far as the tangible parts so i would assume that they took a lot of care in designing the buttons.
what earphones set for Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-t989 has best microphone ?
hi,
I've already lost the earphones that came with my new samsung galaxy s 2 SGH-t989. 1 of the reasons I got this phone was for the vlingo voice-operability that makes it good for use while driving. Does anyone know what the best ( or at least a good) earphone set is for this phone, especially with respect to the microphone quality?

I thought one of the hardships of switching from my iphone to the note 2 would be the incompatibility of the headphones I bought that have a built in mic and controls.
I read that the klipsch S4i headphones weren't compatible with the GS3, so I figured it would be the same with the note2.
NOPE! The center button on the headphones works to pause and play music, and the mic works for making calls, talking to Google Now, and recording voice memos. One glitch though, if I activate Google Now by long pressing the Center button, the headphone mic doesn't work. However if I activate Google Now with the search widget the mic works...
I have a Bowers & Wilkins C5 which was for my iPhone. I was sad that it's not compatible with original Note, but it works with Note 2 as what exactly you said. All controls work including mic but a little glitch with Google Now, which is not a big deal. I'm very happy because I like my C5 sound. Love Note 2!

The issue is the long press is baked to Google Now and there is nothing you can do to change that, at least until it bothers a dev enough to investigate.
There's an app called Headset Button Controller in Google Play which adds ability to quadruple-press the headset button for volume controls. What the command does is changes the volume to a preset amount (e.g. 20%) and progressively ramps up the volume to max (e.g. 100%). You can change the rate the volume increases.

Get the image S4A model instead. Same thing but designed for android. I have a pair of meelectronics M11P+'s on their way which are very highly regarded over at head-fi (as an android headset). Wouldn't call either set "audiophile" quality exactly. But they're both very solid iems if you must have a mic/remote.

U do know there's really no difference in them but the volume controls. The android version have one button. I bought some monster isport, Mic works and they done fall out during workouts like my s4a did, perfect
http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/st...10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666489339
Saw these Sony earbuds (I love my Sony MDR EX38 - it's really made for the iPhone but I bought it for the audio drivers and the built-in mic, pause, play and skip track by double-tapping the middle button -- built-in volume controls don't work on non-iPhone devices). Had it for a couple of years now. The item above looks promising. It says it works with Android products.
Does anyone know if the Bose MIE2i will work with the Note II? They have a center button and two separate volume control buttons.
For anyone who happens upon this thread I hope this post can save you some money and get you a better headset for your hard earned dollars than what the likes of monster/beats/bose/etc. offer. It's not that they're "bad" per se but you're usually paying $100-$500 for headphones that get destroyed by sets that cost $20-$100, all because they have their marketing/branding machines running around the clock convincing everyone they're the best.
Here's a list of headsets with android compatible controls that can be had for $30-$65
Meelectronics M11P+ --- $54.99 MSRP --- $30 - $40 on amazon
These are the ones I just grabbed for myself. Based on everything I've read, these offer the best overall sound quality in this list and they are some the most comfortable IEMS (in ear monitors) you'll ever wear. In the end, comfort was the decideing factor for me because there will be days where I have these in for 10 hours+
Meelectronics SP51P --- $69.99 MSRP --- $40 - $50 on amazon
These came a close second for me and I almost bought them. Overall sound quality is apparently very close to the M11P+ but they offer 3 interchangeable ports you can screw on to the back to change the sound. You get "Natural", "Enhanced Bass", and "Extreme Bass". Reviews are somewhat mixed but most agree that the natural port lives up to it's name and the enhanced bass port should be very pleasing to most people. The extreme bass port, on the other hand is WAYYYY over the top and delivers a sound closer to what you'd get from a pair of beats. Some people would ovbiously love this but it's not my cup of tea because it ruins the mids and highs. Still, you're essentially getting 3 pairs of IEMS for $40-$50.
Klipsch Image S4A --- $99.99 MSRP --- $65 - $80 on amazon
Ok, everyone is aware of these. This was the last set I owned and I was very happy with them. These are also extremely comfortable thanks to Klipsch's patented oval ear tips. They are the most comfortable IEMS I've ever tried and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anybody if they needed a set with some brand appeal. That being said, they are definitely over priced. Better sound can be had for less. However, as this thread demonstrates, there aren't a lot of other options available for android if you just want to walk in to a store and buy a set.
JAYS a-Jays One+ --- $59.99 MSRP --- $30 - $40 on amazon
These are a pair of bass heavy 'phones. They aren't my cup of tea but I include them for all the beats lovers out there. a-Jays > Beats according to TONS of people and they cost $30 a pair. 'Nuff said.
Do Your Research...
There are tons of other options out there. If you give a **** about quality sound and/or your wallet, I strongly encourage to head over to head-fi.org and do some research on any headphones you may be considering before you buy.
Im looking for a good quality earbuds or something similier. I want them to have a mic with volume control. I wouldnt mind having the ability to change also
I use the s4a from Klipsch and they have phenomenal sound. Paid around 70 for them and couldn't be happier. I also own the klipsch mode 40s and those are some quality cans.

I have the Bose MEI2i which have the Forward/Rewind buttons and the answer call button, although these are for my old iPhone, all the buttons work excluding the volume up and down which is the biggest annoyance but I find that these fit perfectly in my ears and do not clog my earholes like the standard and all these Skullcandy and Beats by Dre that I also have and can't stand using, nothing wrong with their sound quality, just they make you feel that you have popped your ears.
On a sidenote, if anybody can tell me if there is an App or anything to enable the Volume Up/Down buttons to work, I would be most grateful.

If you are looking at $100 headphone consider the Klipsch X10s. They originally retailed for $350 and are some of the most comfortable and best sounding in ear headphones on the market. http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Image-X10-Noise-Isolating-Earphone/dp/B000WAHFBK They were doing a sale a while ago for $89.99 but they can still be found on ebay for $100.
If you are not wanting to spend that amount go for the Klipsch Reference S4 not the normal edition make sure it's the reference they are amazing for their cost. http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Reference-S4i-In-Ear-Headphones/dp/B005ZNHK4Q/ref=pd_cp_e_2 still $49.99 they will destroy all in ear headphones under $100.

This is what I'm currently using and was told by several people it would support multiple phones. It does, sometimes...weird I know. The concept behind these I think is good. I personally hate bluetooth and hate earphones. These if they would work perfect the entire time I would love. I think I'm going to be taking them back to the Sprint store this week and looking in to some other options as well.
I have no problem paying the high dollar for them but only if they do everything I want.
Depends but for price the phillips she3580 or similar is a cracking match.
They share different model names but they're the same driver.
Just a tiny little bud.

Yeah got mine the other week, great sound from the headphones, nice design to go with the phone and a compatible remote. What more do you want for 30£? :good:
My headphones are Etymotic ER-4P. (This model has been discontinued, but the ER-4PT is very similar).
My requirements for headphones are somewhat unusual. First, I'm partially deaf, which means I need high-end sound quality. There is obviously a point of diminishing returns - when the distortion/noise introduced by the phone itself is significantly greater than that introduced by the headphones; but anything less than high-end sound means I can't understand dialog in a downloaded movie or TV show. (Also, when I do listen to music, it's classical, and that is much more vulnerable to distortion than modern stuff). Second, I do a lot of listening on trains on the London Underground; shutting out as much background noise as possible is therefore a major priority.
I don't usually move around too much while listening - someone who wants to go the gym or go jogging would want a different model. And the ER-4PT is not a headset - there's no microphone, so you can't make calls with it, and there's no track-switching control. (If that's an issue then the next model down does have a headset equivalent called the HF2).
Etymotic aren't as good value now as they were when I bought mine, but sound quality is very good, and exclusion of external noise is truly superb - officially they reduce it by 35-42dB, depending on frequency. (The level of noise isolation is the same on much cheaper Etymotic models, although obviously the sound quality isn't as good).
I've got Bose AE2i and Mie2s
Works really well imo

what do you think?
I have a pair of the LG Tone Plus and they are awesome! 15 hours of battery life and great sound when playing your favorite jams on your HTC One! Highly recommend if you want the bluetooth kind and ability to connect two phones does work.

You should go check the Headfi forum. I'm a regular poster there. One thing to note about the HTC One is that they have excellent driving capabilities thus making the use of an external amp useless unless you're trying to drive something like K701s.
To put things into perspective, they drive my 600ohm DT880s perfectly with a mild spike in volume at about the <500Hz range.
I personally like to use them with my m100s when I'm out and about.
They should drive IEMs no problem. I would even say that they're overkill for a sensitive earphone like the S4. They sound great with se215s.
Tbh the stock IEMs are suprisingly good. Great bass extension but also a considerable amount of mid-bass hump leading to some sound corrruption in the mids. Highs are lacking but for what they are I definitely would not recommend spending 100$ for IEMs like the S4 for what is in my opinion a very mild upgrade.
Just use the stock phones.
