Hi every1
i have desire hd with rom Runny Xtreme Surprise - v3.0.0 || Xtreme Fast || Sense 4 Xtreme Beauty... i had a 8gb sd card, but today i bought a new one with 32GB, so what i have to do to save all my apps and things that i have in my 8gb sdcard? i've read something in forum, but im confused a bit... i think i need to partition my new sd card... but i dont know how to do that...
and yes, i'm really noob on this
thnx
If you've never partitioned the old one, then no need to partition the new one. Copy the files from the 8 gb to the 32 gb and you're done.

no i've never partitioned it by my self, but does this happen when u root or something?
and how can i know if it is partitioned or not?
No. Root does not partition the sd-card.
Don't worry
Hi, mate. Don't worry and just copy the files from 8GB to 32GB.
yes i did that, and everything is working just fine... thank you all

try titanium back up then backup your apps, format and add new partition to new sd
then transfer all data from old card to new card then run titanium restore?
Oh, I did this today without any backup, just put the contents of the 4gb onto a fat32 partition on the new 8gb. Seems to be fine so far.

Do you still have a full 8gb card though or is it reduced to 4gb now?
Thanks

Sorry for asking again, but what about the partition? The sd card has a partition so if I copy my contents over will I still have full use of 8gb (less the 4gb contents) etc.
I wanted to know if anyone has used a 32gb card with ext partition with A2SD+ ROM?
I have a rooted desire with leedroid Rom and I ordered a 32gb Kingston class 4 card .
I want to know if I can use it here or do I need to switch back to non A2SD+ Rom to have working 32gb memory

I have heard people say they do, but do not own one myself. Was there a specific reason why you think it wouldn't work? As far as i know any sdcard can be partitioned.
I have a class 2 Sandisk 32gb card from Vodafone and it works fine. I have a 512mb ext3 partition.

thanks mate thats makes it easier for me
I bought myself a new 8gb MicroSD card to replace the 4gb card I currently have. My rom uses the a2sd ext partition.
Is there anything I need to before I can change cards? I'm guessing i need to partition the new card, do I need to copy the files from the old ext partition to the new one? Or would it just be better to partition and then do a full wipe on my phone?
Cheers

Hey guys,
since i've bought an new micro SD-Card (Transcend) of 16 GB size and put it into the Desire (rooted) it doesn't continue after the HTC boot screen. Thought of a mechanical failure of the card, but bought a second one (SanDisk) and still the same problem. With my 4 GB card there is no problem, but always with the 16 GB cards. Even can't create an ext on the 16 GB cards, if this b.t.w. is necessary. But still clueless because the 4 GB card is working... Any idea?
Greetz,
Gabs
If you've used a custom ROM with A2SD+ or D2Ext, then you need to reflash the ROM, or copy the content of the EXT partition to the new one.
Also use Gparted to create a partiton, that always works.
Thanks man, worked!
He guys , Im an owner of a htc desire , and I was using a 4gb micro sd hc card , which was included in the box
Now ,
Today I bought an 8 gb micro sd because it was on sale.
I copied my files , and put the 8gb sd card in my phone .. but it won't boot ,and I read on the htc site , you can get up to 32 gb , so that's not the problem.
currently running InsertCoin CM7/STOCK v25 btw , maybe that helps
I hope you got the answer for me
thanks in advance!
put other 4gb sd card in then make a nandroid back up then copy the bck up to the new 8gb then erase data and cache then restore using back up
When you install InsertCoin v20, you must have a partition on your sd card, so when put your new sd card make a new partition and reinstall the rom
