[Q] Looking for sugesstions =) - HTC Wildfire S

Hello,
I have unlocked my Wildfire S (S-ON) phone with the procedure on htcdev and I have managed to successfully root it. I also installed clockworkmod recovery (the ROM manager app in the android market). I am now thinking of flashing a custom ROM. (Yes, I have made a backup of the stock HTC ROM on my SD card). I would love an ICS ROM, but it looks like they're still pretty buggy. What stable ROMs do you guys suggest? (GingerBread or ICS roms would be cool)
--czardoz

I was recommended HenseMod, very stable, but then agaug Virgin Mobile doesn't have a whole lot of love ;/

Gingerbread roms are more stable than ics roms.
If you want sense rom then i would suggest m1ndh4x8r premium features(stock look) or the Thing rom(themed).
If you don't want sense then use cm7 or senseless by jermzii
There are many roms you can check it out.Find the one that suits your needs

Looking for Stock Rooted ROM

Hi,
I have rooted HTC Desire with latest version LeeDroid on it. I am not satisfied with this version of leedroid. It lags a lot. now i am thinking to try stock rom again. but the problem is if i use it then I wouldn't be able to use any other ROM because it would revoke its "root" status.
could someone suggest me any STOCK ROOT rom?
OR - Some clean rom with Sense ?
Teppic74's rooted stock ROM. Links to all roms here:

[Q] Going back to Sense 3.0 from Cyanogen?

Hey
I used the Ace Hack Kit to root my Desire HD, then out of curiosity installed the CyanogenMod, and I wonder if I can go back to HTC Sense 3.0 now?
If it is possible, will I still have root?
Thanks
Android version
2.3.7
Baseband version
12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M
Kernel version
2.6.35.14-cyanogenmod-g9e5cdf1
[email protected] #1
Mod version
CyanogenMod-7.1.0-DesireHD
Build number
GWK74
I am assuming you have successfully installed CM and therefore have root.
If you have been able to install CM successfully, you can install any other ROM with the same process. There are many ROMS in the development forum.
Pick you fav ROM
Download it
Check the MD5 (an important but not a compulsory check)
Put the file on SD card
Boot into recovery
Choose Install from SD Card
Navigate to the location of ROM
Select to install it
If you want to go back to Sense 3.0, I recommend you try out Android Revolution (ARHD) roms, you can try out Runny based roms if you want Sense 3.5 and if you are ok without video recording and WLAN support, you can even try out LC's ICS rom if you want Andorid 4.
Thanks so much for the reply, I was wondering if I could go back to the stock HTC sense 3.0 rom because that's actually the only I like the most.
Is it possible to have root with a stock rom?
You will find the stock ROM right here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382235
it's already rooted. so u dont need to root your device again
flash it just like u did with CM
Thanks so much for that link!
One last question please, After I flash the stock rom, can I still get software updates from HTC?
No, u won't get any HTC Updates. I don't think this is what you want because u would have to flash a RUU and loose root permissions.

[Q] How to restore stock rom after flash with Vanilla?

Hello,
I know very well on iphone but completely newbie to Android stuffs
I would like to flash a vanilla rom on my HTC X and i also want to ensure I able to flash back my stock rom when I am bore with it.
Would be very much appreciate if anyone able to show some guide.
help
have you unlocked your bootloader and installed recovery?
No, it completely new as just a week old.
Everything still in stock except few apps installed.
You need to go to HTC Dev website and unlock your bootloader first. HTC one x will not be listed, so you will have to use "other supported models" Follow the instructions to unlock your bootloader. Remember, doing this will void your warranty. Once you've unlocked the bootloader, i will guide you installing recovery and help you flashing a ROM.
there are not currently any vanilla (AOSP) roms, except a themed one i believe.
I too am waiting for an AOSP rom (CM9 should be the one) however for sense based roms Android Revolution & Insert Coin One X are both very good roms by some awesome Devs
Hi mgf8384,
Thanks but temporary i will stick with stock.
I have a ROM by Jdroid Its version 2.5.4. Its about as Vanilla as you can get. Its pretty much like stock Ice Cream Sammich thats on the Galaxy Nexus. Much better than Sense. Hopefully this will help.
Cm9 is out for hox and its pretty good its all vanilla no sense at all ) only wifi tethering doesn't work.. do you want me to give you full instructions how to get there from stock and have a back up of stock too ?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium

[Q] info about update..

hey people..
i bought a new desire HD and updated to android 2.3.5..
so at the time rooting it got downgraded to 2.1 ,so is thr any way to upgrade it to 2.3.5 again..witout loosing the root.?
The whole point of rooting is to flash other roms - besides the other things you can do.
You would need to search for one in the dev section, and if you aren't partial to sense roms, you can even get a 2.3.7 Gb rom.
Sent from a dream.
you must flashed other ROM same from XDA Forum dev
u must download custom rom and flash it from recovery, or u can download ROM Manager apk
if you're looking for 2.3 i would recommend Android Revolution(for full sense experience and much speedier over stock) or the BlackIce if you're into minimalistic themes and lots of usefull system/system tools.
You can try this rooted Ruu 3.12.***
you can easly use the custom ROM's or use the RUU ( officiall ROM ).
download any of them and go to recovery then flash the new ROM's.
enjoy it..

Review the topic HTC Desire (Bravo) Index - Everything Desire is here!.
In the second sheets it is something for you.
I am afraid that most ROMs no longer find on the net.
Froyo is prehistory.
