Does the sd card work in a computer via sd card reader? If not then your sd card probably got corrupted. Happened to me went out and bought a brand new one problem solved. But I lost everything on it.
Lesson learned: back up sd card on pc once a week at the end of the week.

So I've decided to buy a 16gB or a 32gB card depending on the price - compatibility/performance ratio.

You should read the thread then.... the title is about a fail, but not the rest.
Wouldn't you want to learn more about what fails? I guess not.
look for a card with a good class rating of 6 or 10 and comes with a good warranty 5+ years.
16gb seem to have a lower failure rate
i have this one, works fine

I dropped a class 4 16gb into mine, I just couldn't resist a $14 dollar sd card
where did you get that deal?
Bout 2 weeks ago I went into one of the local phone stores, they had an open box memory card with a $14 dollar price tag on it that said it was 4gb memory card. I didn't argue the price, cuz the card clearly said 16gb
So I inserted my 32GB class10 Patriot into my phone. It detected the card for 5secs, and then said card removed. I tried moving the card around, but nothing. Also tried rebooting the phone.
T_T
EDIT: Kept sliding it around and my phone detects it now, although the format option is greyed out.
EDIT2: no go. After putting the cover back on, it says card removed.

From my understanding the inc2 and majority of today's "smartphones" can only access up to 32gb of external memory. I have yet to see a 64gb card installed in any phone.
I could be absolutely wrong in my assumption.

Did a quick research and found out that anything above 32gb would be classified as a SDXC card which would not be read by current smartphones.

plenty of music (32gb alone), movies, videos etc.... I have Google Music, but I would also like the option of not having to stream online to listen to my music.
Just installed the 64GB microSDXC card from SanDisk and it works just fine. Formatted the card in the phone and copied all my stuff (music, pictures, etc.) over. Only problem I've run into was Astro FC, but a quick reinstall fixed that. Sure is nice to have a room for more ROM backups now.

why wouldn't you want 128GB. if you're like me then you would want your phone to do whatever it is you need it for - whether it be watching movies, recording video, or playing games. Just as an example: if you enjoy playing "old school" games like NES or SNES games, then each SNES game alone is approximately the size of a standard mp3 and with hundreds of games - you could easily fill up a few gigs of space.
Music alone will be a storage hog and even movies. The average divx or .avi is about 700mb.
I can't believe some peoples mindset...
I mean sure if its not what you need look elsewhere but more storage space is never a bad thing, especially for the users that use their phone for more then just texting, calling, browsing youtube etc. This is a smartphone people and storage just like battery life can always be improved upon.

When you try to flash something from twrp it should show the external card as an option to choose where to download from. If it doesnt show it won't work with twrp. There is an app I use to convert to the correct format. If interested shoot me a pm to get the info. Hope this helps.

the 12GB that you're seeing is referring to the internal storage space on the phone (out of the 16GB). Your 32GB card is the Ext. SD. If that is showing 32GB then you're good and nothing is wrong.
Format of the card on the computer into fat32. The results we're pretty good on 1 part but pretty bad on another. I assume it could be a combination of the way it was formatted and the phone's hardware that is the

Sd card speeds are averages they will never be consistent, especially when testing in your phone as background apps could be using it while the test is running. To get the most accurate results its best to test them in a pc

Typically you see the big spikes while benching on the phone cuz something in the background starts reading or writing from the sd and takes priority over the benchmark app. If you test it in a pc it would be more consistent but still varying a bit. Theres just no real way to stop the phone from using the card to get an accurate test. Best way would be to do it on a cleanly installed rom with no 3rd party apps installed. It's just the way android works unfortunately if something needs to use the sd card it will automagically take priority over the benchmark and they will then be sharing the max r/w speeds. Say your max is 10mb/s and 2 apps are reading/writing those apps now each have a max of ~5mb/s, 3 apps running ~3mb/s and so on.
I like to break stuff!
How much are those 64GB anyways
besides that, I heard they have alot of problems with slow loading of the disk after boot or so? or just not loading at all
Thats just my say because i see alot of threads of that....
I want one because I have alot of music....
As long as you preformat it in fat32 before you put it in the phone, you should be okay. Haven't had any problems yet. Card scan at boot is faster than the previous card with the same data on it. I think I paid under 60 usd on amazon for it.
I got lucky and got my Ultra 64gb for like 35 from Bestbuy but they are normally pricey. I have never gotten the advertised 30mb read and write but it is way faster than a typical class 10
