I rooted my Nexus and no matter what rom I run (well, from the ones I've flashed) when I open Google wallet, I get a yellow banner at the top of the screen that's says "unsupported device. Learn more" my question is will Google wallet still work or is there a fix?
Sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks in advance

Yes it still works. Its because your rooted it says unsupported device. Some kind of "security" issue...

No problem still have 43$ its because since your rooted Google cant guarantee that your secure element is completely "safe" so they give you late yellow label.

I have a feeling we won't the next update till mid march. I tried the 4.0.4 from on my last nexus that Verizon sent me. i didn't experience any bugs n I feel its ready for prime time. But when it comes to big v, I don't get my hopes up.
Isn't it up to Google and/or Samsung and not Verizon for this particular phone?

Its supposed to be. But lets not forget, our Verizon version came with pre installed bloat. So who knows.

The OTA is possibly pushing for the NS4G.
Chill the f*** out. Just because one phone gets an update doesn't mean others will the same day. Geez.
Really wish people would quit posting "OMG wherez mah updatez?" threads.

No. It's updated by Google but VZW has to approve it first.
OP we already have 4.0.4, why wait for OTA?

At some point Verizon is involved in the LTE version's OTAs. They have to add and test their closed-source CDMA and LTE network interfaces.
I upgraded to the Galaxy Nexus a little while ago and am officially decommissioning my Droid Incredible 2 (but I'll still keep it as a backup just in case). I won't have time to root it until this weekend, but once I do, I look forward to sharing my ROM flashing adventures with you guys. And with the sheer number of ROMs available for this device, it looks like I'll be in flashaholic heaven.

Quick question. I disabled Google books and Google earth, but they keep re-enabling themselves and reappearing in my app drawer. I thought disabling unwanted system apps was supposed to prevent this.

I noticed that when I first got the phone and was running a stock rom. Doesn't seem to be an issue when custom roms.
Also, if you haven't unlocked your bootloader yet, remember to back up the important stuff because it will wipe everything.

Get to rooting that phone, and being a part of the greatest android community!
Hey guys, I was hoping we could start a list of roms that have working Google wallet. So far the only rom I've used that works with Google wallet is the AOKP roms. Chime in with your rom and I'll add to the list.
Also check out Geniusdog254's nfc mods for using nfc with the screen off or from the lock screen.

It loads up on ever rom, but won't actually allow you to complete a transaction on some of them. Unless I'm mistaken and this is a kernel issue..
I'm on Twisted AOSP right now with no luck.

I had that happen once a few months ago. No idea what was the cause or if it would happen again (not a big fast food eater, I think that was actually the last time I've been in a mcdonalds). But it was probably a few versions of Google Wallet ago so I'd at least be optimistic for that reason.
I was able to make a purchase using Liquidsmooth ROM.
Has anyone had any luck with cm9 night lies I'm on the June 1 one. Every time I make a purchase the lights on the pay pass blink and it brings up the transaction on my phone but it says card failed on the cashiers screen any help appreciated!

Same here.
I had my Nexus for about 6 weeks before rooting it and installing CM9. During that time I used Google Wallet almost daily.
Once rooted apprx a week ago, I have not gotten it to work in the very same stores it did work previously.
What happens is when held against the reader, it vibrates and beeps as it should but nothing occurs on the cash register.
It have the "unsupported message" in google wallet.
I have enough funds in my Google Card
I have "NFC" enabled in settings.

Mine just worked at McDonald's using the 6/21 nightly on my Toroplus. I have had it fail many times before so I was pleasantly surprised when it did work. I doubt it's the reason but the only thing I've done differently than before is I have Wallet installed as a system app. I modified the Gapps package so that most of the Google apps are installed as system apps. I don't know if there was a recent update or if it's due to being a system app but Wallet doesn't ask for SU now.
Hello everyone,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Canadian cell phone company I believe) and I am trying to bypass the gesture combination lock. It would be great to do it without resetting the phone to factory settings, but at this point I don't care... whichever way is easier will work.
I've tried:
Installed Android SDK and tried running different commands from the command prompt like "adb reboot bootloader" and "fastbootflash recovery" but the device was not found. I checked my drivers and it seemed to be there. I have the Android folder under App Data>Local and I also have a recovery image in that folder.
Booting from recovery for a facotry reset. Whenever I had the option to boot recovery it would reboot with a logo of an android with a red exclamation triangle.
If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.
There is no good reason for trying to *bypass* gesture lock.

Anywho, there isn't a way to bypass the gesture security feature.

Its easy.
At the bottom there is an "Emergency Call" option. Dial 911 on the dialer that comes up. Tell the person who answers (they are a type of tech support) that you have this phone you cant access because it used to belong to someone else and give them your exact location.
They will promptly show up and assist you with it.

Quick question. My in laws are moving to China. They live in the States but my father in law was wondering if they can unlock the device to use over in China. Someone (I don't remember who) said it can be unlocked and used over there. I said that I don't think it can be and that you need to international version for it to work. Any help would be great. Thanks
