I do manual wipes. Wipe scripts seem to work from what I've read.
Could it be a setting causing the issue?
I would say download the rom again, full wipe, dont restore apps, and see what happens.

[Q] com.htc.skinpicker stops working unexpectedly

Hi,
I just rooted my HTC Desire HD, and installed a custom ROM (Android Revolution HD 6.3.2). After starting up the phone, I tried to change the skin on the phone (I don't like the original skin) but every time I press the Skin-button (Personalize -> Skin) I get the error message; Sorry! The application Skin Picker (process com.htc.skinpicker) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Any idea of how to fix this?
thank you in advance.
You can try fixing the permissions. If you have 4ext recovery I believe it has an option or you can download rom manager. Either one might fix it.

Thx..

no you shouldn't because sometimes problem happens from restoring files with titanium and also not full wipe when installing the ROM or maybe bad flash...

I don't think I did a full wipe ... that might be it.. I just followed what was said in this tutorial http://www.xda-developers.com/android/how-to-root-the-htc-desire-hd/ and renamed the zip "update.zip" and went into recovery mode -> install update from SDcard -> install update.zip.
... I hope there is another way than wipe it ... don't want to loose all my contacts...

For contact u can sync it to google account and also can export it to sdcard(there is an option in contact app)..so after full wipe u can restore it from sd card..

However, as it does work in gb then it seems you are, but still please state the way you do it and everything else that comes to mind.

Full wipe means formating data, dalvik and cache
You should do it before flashing any rom from recovery >> wipe data & wipe cache and dalvik

Camera, volume buttons & headphone port not working
Dear all,
I am very very new here. I got my mobile rooted from one of my friends and i used to flash different roms from XDA developers. Once i was flashing a new rom from CWM. While flashing in between there came an error that installation aborted or something like that... I got nervous and went to the other rom to flash it. I flashed the other rom and then after that My camera, My volume buttons and my earphones port is not working at all. I tried to restore the backed up roms when everything was working normally. I tried to clear data, cache and all that stuff and tried to flash different roms again. They all flash sucessfully but still camera volume buttons and earphone ports are not working with me.
Volume buttons are not even working in CWM. I was using 4EXT recovery for flashing roms.....
Please help...Please help...i am real trouble...

Installing custom Rom and stucking on white htc screen every time

hi, i have a WFS A510e marvel with S-On, rooted. every time i try to install a custom rom in recovery mode it says that install complete but then stucks on htc white screen and never moves forward. i mailny use to wipe data/reset then wipe cache partition and then wipe dalvik cache and then installing a custom rom.
Any one please guide me on this
Uh, try using superwipe, it may help. If it doesn't then it might be a problem with your rom.
Which rom are you trying to install?
perfectly done?
have you performed all steps properly ??
nandroid backup?
wipe cache
advance wipe dalvik cache !!!!
Try format system partition?
-create correct partitions
-wipe data,cache,dalvik cache twice
-install superwipe
-again,wipe all twice
-install your rom and wait max 10 minutes
If i helped you,click "Thank's" button.have a nice night.

Got similiar problem, only EQDKP roms are working fine, tried cm7.2, 9 and Fresh Ice rom [which i want the most] and always stuck.
After installing the rom make cache wipe and dalvik cache wipe than reboot your phone... and for the first start you might have to wait around 10 to 15 minutes...

[n00b] how to nightly grease my butter?

Hi
My very n00b question is... I'm running codefireX JB rom and I know it gets frequent "nightly"updates.
To install them do I have to always go through the total wipe process and reset my device?
If not... will updating screw up my settings? (like folder position & content on homescreen)
Thanks in advance

Most of the time with nightlys you can just dirty flash. That is to flash without any type of wiping. Remember that this may screw things up so always have a backup and no one will give support if you didn't full wipe! That's said or should be gone to install within wiping.

scaryshark is right, but one thing: unless you back up your home screen, it will reset. Some home screens will allow backups, like Nova and Apex. As far as I know, Trebuchet cannot be backed up.

Hey, why will the home screen reset if it's dirty flashed? The data partition is still intact, so the home screen data for whichever launcher is there too and it shouldn't reset if only the /system partition is flashed right? I always dirty flashed when I was using cfX and never had my home screen reset.

Maybe. If all you're doing is flashing a new nightly, gapps and then wiping cache+dalvik, it shouldn't reset.

It's answered above, but the long and short of it is, dirty flashes are generally okay. You only need to wipe cache and dalvik (and sometimes not even that). That should keep all your settings. However, always do a nandroid backup first, and do not report bugs from dirty flashes. If you find bugs from dirty flashes, do a full wipe and clean flash before reporting any bugs.
