I flashed doomkernel and my battery life is terfible. Can i just flash back the original kernel without having to reload the rom?
And yes i've used betterbatterystats and it doesnt help. Doomkernel just does something to my phone and causes constant battery loss.

Hi guys,
I have a SE ARC and installed the Doomkernel V15 with fastboot. Now when I boot I have the doomkernel logo and all, I have installed the V15 modules which came for the V15 kernel. However, I went to recovery mode by pressing the volume buttons and there, I installed the zipfile from my SDcard, and the rebooted again but yet no Wifi. It gives me an error, is there something I've missed out?
I have searched all day long since yesterday, I still haven't diagnosed where I went wrong.
All help would be appreciated
Thanks you!
Try to reflash his kernel and Wi-Fi modules.
I did flash his V15 kernel mutiple times, and reinstalled the CWM zipfile more than once.. Still no Wifi though.
Is there a wifi module apart from his V15 modules pack?
As far as I know there isn't a Wi-Fi module apart from his modules pack.
Have you followed the right steps?

I guess I did,
I have downloaded the
[ARC/ARC S] DooMKernel (v15) (FW: 4.0.2.A.0.42) with modCWM-v04 TouchEdition Recovery [ 2.0Ghz version ]
Which works, cause it boots with his logo.
and I have downloaded the
ARC-DooMKernel-v15-modules_CWM.zip
Which are the modules.
After that I went to recovery, from there I have installed the zipfile from my SD card, and yet no wifi.
Try to flash only the modules again.

I did that too, the modules multiple times.. I kinda need it for work and messed it up
Testing before and after installing the ROM with the CWM:
Wipe the following in CWM Recovery:
Factory Reset (Full wipe)
Wipe Cache Partition
Wipe Dalvik Cache
ROM or Kernel?
I have just downloaded the Doomkernel V15 and used fastboot with cmd and flashed boot.img inside. And then put the CWM zipfile into my SD card after that installed with recovery.
I've tried but still no succes, Wiped everything and yet it gives me an error with wifi
The only thing that happens to me is start from 0, first installed stock SE 4.0.2.A.0.42 FW + Root and after continues.
I've installed an clean fw which worked fine but it was 3xxxxxx. I've tried to update it via wifi but sad to see, it turned off while doing it and now it's bricked. I tried reflash the fw but it ain't working. I have this green flickering led when I press the powerbutton. When I connect it via USB it will get to flash mode automaticly, battery pull nothing worked. I can't get into any other modes than the flashmode.
I HAVE SOLVED !!!!! For those who are experiencing this problem.
First, install the software support Sony, which installs the correct driver usb, then run the bootloader relock using the flashtool (ver 0.2.9.1), then run the unlocking bootoader with flashboot, after flashing with the correct firmware using flashtool, then run again with relock flashtool and turn it!!!
thanks to all

As you can see, I've found this on the net. I quite don't understand what he did as his english ain't that good. Do you guys know what he eventually means? "Relock flashtool"?

Haha, thanks a bunch.. Just relocking the bootloader worked fine here.
Now, I just want to update the fw with Sony's original updater inside the android and flash the doomkernel in it. For instance, when I flash the doomkernel in it with the modules, Do I have to boot my phone between flashing kernel and installing the modules?
Sorry for double post, but thanks a bunch guys!
Wifi works with V15 doomkernal now
hi all...

Use the command "fastboot erase boot" before you flash new kernel, this will format boot partition and erase old kernel.

I have tried to install CM9 to my One X, but appearantly something went wrong (after installing it tries to boot, but doesn't pass the nicely done/animated 'loading' screen).
is there a way to acces the SD-card from the bootloader (which still works, unlocked etc). So i can copy over the .zip again incase that was faulty.
Also; when going into recovery from the bootloader it just reboots the phone (go into CM9 again). so that wont work :/
any thoughts?
edit1:
oh yeah:
C:\Users\username\Desktop\HTC\onexroot>fastboot flash recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-endeavoru.img
unknown partition 'recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-endeavoru.img'
error: cannot determine image filename for 'recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-end
eavoru.img'
wut? ^^
try using fastboot erase cache first
might fix everything
this command is wrong
C:\Users\username\Desktop\HTC\onexroot>fastboot flash recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-endeavoru.img
it should be fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-endeavoru.img
and you can use adb push to send files to your phone
Yeah, noticed the command was wrong. Fixed that, got a working recovery now.
However, clearing the cache didn't fix the issue. My 'guess' is that the CM9 .zip is just faulty.
Ill look into that adb push thing now, to find out how to push the img to the phone.
TY so far
might want to check the md5sum of the file you downloaded
it used to give me trouble back then. Some internet issues corrupted the file.
Hmm, btw, did you flash the kernel?
I mean the cm9 specific kernel?
My guess is i did not flash the kernel
im still quite new to all this, have rooted/custom rommed my desire before; but that was all 1 click
How does one update the kernel and what is the main purpose?
U need to extract file "boot.img" from the rom ZIP. put it in your fastboot folder.
Then use fastboot Command:
'fastboot flash boot boot.img'
erase Cache recommended before first boot
Edit: oh yeah ... and the purpose is, that the Rom needs the appropriate kernel to run. Its like the heart of the System.

devs are usually supplying both the rom and the kernel for the hox.
There is an issue that prevents the kernel to be flashed from CWR so you have to flash it yourself.
use flashboot boot kernel name.img on fastboot
kernel is the bridge between hardware and software or something like that

The issue is caused by the device being s-on.
The command is fastboot flash boot boot.IMG after do fastboot erase cache.
But yes the kernel sits between applications and hardware.

Fixed the problem
i DID update the kernel; so that was fine (just didn't know the boot.img was in fact the kernel)
Fixed the recovery after which i could access the SDcard to update the CM9 zip file.
This time it installed fine and despite some known bugs seems to do the trick.
Ty for all your help really needed a push in the right direction ^^

Kernel are inside the zip packages.
If im not mistaken, baseband file are too.
Flash baseband using flashtool.
Just put it inside firmware folder.
Sent from my LT15i using Tapatalk
To flash baseband.
Open flashtool
drag and drop ftf-file onto flashtool window, new window opens up where you select what parts to flash, don't need to change anything, usually.
Follow on screen instructions.

i dont understand, so should i just install the zip through recovery and the kernel will flash with the rom, or i should unpack the zip file, flash the boot.img with fastboot and then flash the rom through recovery?
copy zip-file to sd-card.
Unpack the boot.img file that's in the zip-file to a place on your hdd. run "fastboot boot boot.img" to install cwm kernel.
reboot phone.
go into cwm by pressing volume down a couple of times.
wipe!
install zip.

U will need to flash the vendor ftf. To unlock the partitions. I can't link u to it rite now but a Google search and you will find it on xda.
U are using the wrong kernel also a CM9 kernel will only work on cm9 based ROMs not on GB for that u can use this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849536 . Then wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache then flash the ROM.zip.

No need to root it. U can still flash kernel. Most ROMs are pre rooted such as the one you want to flash (Gin2Jellybean).
Flash .79 firmware. Unplug your phone. Hold search button and connect your phone to PC. Press lighting icon and choose fastboot. Choose "select kernel to flash" and choose your kernel. Wait few second and when flashtool report the flashing is done, unplug your phone from PC. With phone in your hands, press power button. Start pressing volume down button repeatedly untill you enter recovery. Wipe system and data, and install (already rooted) Gin2jellybean rom.
