Darkside ROM and APPS - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I just flashed the Darkside Rom and rebooted and everything appears to working. However when I D/L and Installed Titanium Backup I could find this program. It said it installed but I can find it anywhere.
Is there something I need to do after I install the ROM.
I would like to restore my apps...
any and all information will be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance.

This seems to be an issue. Try rebooting, and if that doesn't work go back to recovery, flash Darksides cache wipe then reboot and all your apps should be back in place.
If you want, I would recommend 'Apex Launcher', in the market, as that is a good launcher to use and it is jamed with features at no or little cost to your RAM. I suggest that and all your apps will be in the drawer that comes with Apex.

How does this APEX Launcher work???

Download Apex Launcher from the market, and then when it installs, hit your home button It will then ask you what you want to use for home, and if you want to use it as default. Use Apex as default and it is a complete changer for your phone.

can u remove adw launcher from cm6?

d rather use the stock froyo launcher..is that possable?
Install launcher of your choice..Delete ADW from system folder..
Done deal.
Here is how I did it.
There is a launcher2.apk given in another thread on this forum not sure where though but download that and place it on the SDCard.
1. Download launcher pro
2. Use Titanium Backup to uninstall ADW Launcher
3. Use APK of Launcher2 to install stock launcher.
You have to uninstall ADW first otherwise Stock Launcher refuses to install.
Hope that helps.

[Q] Problems on omfgb 1.1.1 want to revert...

Flashed over to OMFGB 1.1.1 tonight, got Gapps installed, but not liking the fact that Better keyboard, Rom Manager, and Titanium backup aren't working. Tried to go back to another rom in recovery but it won't let me do it through recovery or Rom Manager which FC's every time I open it just like Titanium Backup. How can I get rid of this rom and go back to one that works best for me? Please help!!!
I don't use the rom manager, but titanium backup has always worked for me. Have you ever tried reinstalling them from the market?
Also, for on the spot help, drop in on thier irc and they'll be more than willing to help you out on anything else.

Did you update Clockwork Mod? The new version is causing some issues with recoveries due to a change in update script (So I read). It looks like Nils Business Sense is updated to the new script and you could flash that via recovery to get operating again.

I had the same problem I just downloaded boot tools and fixed the permissions and everything works great! If you download something and it forecloses right away don't delete it fix the permissions first then try again.
Yea you most likely just have to fix permissions.

[Q]Why doesn't Titanium Backup work on CM7?

I have CM7 final installed and titanium backup doesn't work. Every time I try to open it, it FC. This is freaking lame, it didn't use to do this.
How do I fix it? I do NOT want to re-download every single thing I have backed up.
uninstall and then re-install the app?
I have tried the following:
uninstall and reinstall (multiple times)
fresh wipe and install
fresh wipe, reinstalled CM7, and reinstalled
calk's format all (plus dalvik wipe), reinstalled CM7 and reinstalled.
I'm at my wit's end, I have no clue what else to try. It works on my stock nandroid, my mikfroyo 4.61 nandroid and my misfit's gingerbread with sense beta 3 nandroid.
It also wouldn't work on the OMGB rom or destroyer 2 rom. For some reason, stock Android is pissing it off and it's pissing me off.
I get force close "process has failed". I can't even get to the opening screen. It doesn't go any further than after I give it superuser permissions.
Have you tried a permission fix in ROM Manager or recovery?
Looking at the comments on the market, it looks like the new version they released yesterday isn't compatible with 2.3. Hopefully they'll fix it quickly.
Edit: Pulled the prior version from my phone and attached it. Try it out. (This is just the free version of course. If you have the pro key installed, it should recognize it just fine.)
Bkrodgers ,u saved me dude thanks a lot

[Q] CM7 -> replace ADW with LauncherPro?

Is there any simple and safe way to delete ADW launcher (which comes with CM7) and install LauncherPro after that?

That's what I'm doing now exactly. Anyhow I wont recommend u to do that. Instead install launcher pro and make it default.
Anyhow I will tell the process . Do it at ur own risk. First u should install launcher pro or any other launcher. Doing this first is a must. Then u can use titanium backup to remove system apps like adw launcher of cm7. But don't mess up with other system apps if u r not aware of what u r doing. Doing anything stupid will make u to loose data and install a new rom.
Edit : Suppose if u format the phone after removing adw launcher, it ends up with no user interface. Only way then is reinstalling the rom again.

Install LP, Make it default, then flash this in recovery (2.x only, May not work in 3.x AFAIK)

@3xeno, you were right, that .zip can't be flashed using cw recovery v3+, thx anyway.
@bharatgaddameedi, i did it using titanium backup. thx
You might want to keep 2.x Recovery handy for many situations such as these, then flashing radio, Sense based ROMs etc. This can be obtained by installing Clockworkmod From within ROM Manager App. Then, Rebooting into Recovery, again from within the ROM Manager app.
This way, you will have both, 2.x and 3.x
If you can't flash the zip file because your recovery is too new, you can always log on to your terminal and do the following:
Just make sure Launcher pro is set as default launcher before doing this:
su
mount -o rw,remount /system
rm -f /system/app/ADWLauncher.apk
pm uninstall com.android.launcher
After doing this the terminal should read Success
Why not just extract the rom, switch the launchers in system/app then repackage and flash?
Speaking of switching apps, once the rom has been extracted and repackaged, does it need to be re-signed etc?

I'm using ADW launcher ex and it's fast, smooth and has got a lot of customize.... The best one seen on cm7.

How do I upgrade rom (to cyanogen 7) after previously rooting with AutoRoot v2.4

Hello,
I think the subject says it all. I currently have android 2.2 (can't even remember what ROM I flashed) after rooting using Autoroot 2.4. Now I'd like to update my ROM to cyanogen 7. How do I go about doing this?
It appears that if I go to power down and choose reset -> recovery that Android System Recovery loads w/ Build "RA-supersonic-v2.3 - HAUS MOD rev.A" -- I presume that this is the key to flashing cyanogen 7?
What I think I do is:
Put cyanogen 7 image (zip file) in root folder of SD card
Boot into recovery mode
Make backup (NANdroid)
Select Wipe, then Wipe data/factory reset
Select Flash zip from sdcard.
Select the CyanogenMod update.zip.
Reboot
and I'm done???
But I would appreciate some more or less brick proof direction.
Thanks!
Personally, I would suggest Deck's or SalvageMod instead of CM7. Both are optimized and fly!
Well you would need whichever CM7 you want to flash (stable, nightly, etc). Also, you will need GAPPS. Probably want a custom kernel too, I suggest Tiamat 4.1.0 SBC.
Download and put on SD card. Boot into recovery.
Wipe cache and dalvik. Then nandroid, select everything you want. I typically keep on backup on my card.
Wipe everything except for SD card twice. Navigate to Flash Zips. Flash the ROM, then GAPPS, then mount data in "Mounts" then flash Tiamat kernel. Reboot. Let it sit, then reboot. Then do the setup

Thanks for the help. I installed cyanogenmod 7 and it seems to be working. I'm now restoring my backups. I don't really like the default skin and much preferred my old rom. I wonder if just changing the theme will help (I think I like the more factory setup... is that called sense?)
What is the advantage of installing tiamat kernel?
Thanks for the help!
The default skin is just a default. Take a look at my setup, picture in my signature). It doesn't look anything like the default setup for Cyanogen.

Tiamat kernel has different governors, has HAVS, and SBC. There is a sticky at the top of Q&A discussing kernels, it is really helpful.
Are you talking about the theme or launcher? You can always install another launcher from the Market. I have grown fond of Launcher 7. Themes, there are many options. Check Evo Themes and Apps section. You can also download themes to use in Theme Manager from the Market too.
OR, have you heard of UOT Kitchen? Google it, watch a tutorial. You can make your own flashable theme!
And yes, HTC's software is Sense. I suggest MikG, it has 4G and everything, much more functionality than stock software. It is Sense to

I'm trying to install the theme "HTC.Elegance-CM7-Theme v4.5.1"
To do so I've gone into the recovery menu
then I wipe cache and dalvik cache
then I load the HTC elegance theme zip file like I did to flash the cm7 mod and
reboot
however, it keeps booting into the default theme. What could I be doing wrong here?
Also, is there a graphical app that will allow quickly changing themes w/o multiple reboots?
Thanks!
CM7 seems quite slow. I may bail on this one and try something else. My last rom was sprintlovers and believe it or not I liked it a lot. Would MikG provide a similar experience or is something else similar recommended?
Thanks!

I guess you'd get a similar experience, its sense based, with all his extras. So if you lik sense, go ahead and try it.
Thanks again for all the tips. I ended up restoring my phone w/ NAND and then installing latest sprintlovers to get me up to 2.3. That's all I really need at this point, hopefully it does everything I need it to do.

Flashing the theme just loads it into your phone. Once you've flashed it you need to go into your app drawer and select the app called "Theme Chooser." When that opens you can scroll through the various themes loaded onto your phone. Select the one you just flash and hit "Apply." Bam! You're all themed up!
