I have CM7 final installed and titanium backup doesn't work. Every time I try to open it, it FC. This is freaking lame, it didn't use to do this.
How do I fix it? I do NOT want to re-download every single thing I have backed up.
uninstall and then re-install the app?
I have tried the following:
uninstall and reinstall (multiple times)
fresh wipe and install
fresh wipe, reinstalled CM7, and reinstalled
calk's format all (plus dalvik wipe), reinstalled CM7 and reinstalled.
I'm at my wit's end, I have no clue what else to try. It works on my stock nandroid, my mikfroyo 4.61 nandroid and my misfit's gingerbread with sense beta 3 nandroid.
It also wouldn't work on the OMGB rom or destroyer 2 rom. For some reason, stock Android is pissing it off and it's pissing me off.
I get force close "process has failed". I can't even get to the opening screen. It doesn't go any further than after I give it superuser permissions.
Have you tried a permission fix in ROM Manager or recovery?
Looking at the comments on the market, it looks like the new version they released yesterday isn't compatible with 2.3. Hopefully they'll fix it quickly.
Edit: Pulled the prior version from my phone and attached it. Try it out. (This is just the free version of course. If you have the pro key installed, it should recognize it just fine.)
Bkrodgers ,u saved me dude thanks a lot

Lately I've been having a problem with my Evo. After flashing the latest stable roms 6.1 and 6.1.1, I found my phone freezes, force closes, and reboots, then wont get past the white evo screen. Ive wiped everything using amon ra and clockwork but i keep coming back to the same issues. I even try not using Setcpu on a clean install and still have issues. I also noticed that everytime I wipe then flash, the google apps show up after my first boot, even though i never flashed the google zip file. Is my phone wiping correctly? What could be the problem?

If this ONLY happens to you when using cyanogenmod roms, then you are not alone. The exact same issue happens to me also ONLY when using CM 6.1 and CM 6.1.1. I have never had this issue with any other rom, both aosp or sense-based, except with CM 6.x roms.

Yea for some reason these last 2 releases just wont work right on my phone. Which def sucks because I love Cyanogenmod roms. Anyone have any suggestions as to why this might be happening?
Try the following:
Wipe data+cache twice
Flash sense ROM
boot
wipe data+cache twice
verify MD5's
flash CM
flash gapps
U recommend clockwork or ra
What? This title for a thread and no poop jokes? The Internet makes me sad.
Seriously, though...
I'm partial to Clockwork now because I use ROM Manager Pro. AmonRa was the one I always used on my Hero. Both are good. It's yet another "personal preference" thing.
CM6 Issues
I too have had trouble with CM 6.0 and 6.1. I flashed CM6.0 Stable, and could not get apps to install or uninstall after flashing. I tried restoring an earlier Nandroid backup of my previously working HTC Sense ROM, and still could not install/uninstall any apps. I tried clearing Market cache, fixing permissions, wiping cache, Dalvik cache, numerous reboots, and flashing earlier ND backups with no luck. I finally bit the bullet, flashed Stock RUU, and had to reroot to get phone working properly again.
Think I would have learned from above, but being flashaholic that I am, I flashed CM 6.1 when it came out. Exact same probs, and again had to reflash stock RUU and reroot.
No more Cyanogen mod for me. Nothing against CM, and it may work great on some people's EVOs, but its only caused me headaches.
Good news is I'm getting pretty damn proficient rooting phone using old-school manual adb shell/rageagainstthecage/chmod exploit method, having done it three times now (although I hope I don't find myself in this situation again).
YMMV
Me too. Tried with both clockwork and ra...no dice. Problem is, when I went back to warm, it left pieces and now even warm doesn't run correct. I tried wiping twice and clearing the dalvik too. I know it wasn't erasing everything because there would be apps that were already installed. Like it was installing to a partition, though I have never set that up.

Flashed over to OMFGB 1.1.1 tonight, got Gapps installed, but not liking the fact that Better keyboard, Rom Manager, and Titanium backup aren't working. Tried to go back to another rom in recovery but it won't let me do it through recovery or Rom Manager which FC's every time I open it just like Titanium Backup. How can I get rid of this rom and go back to one that works best for me? Please help!!!
I don't use the rom manager, but titanium backup has always worked for me. Have you ever tried reinstalling them from the market?
Also, for on the spot help, drop in on thier irc and they'll be more than willing to help you out on anything else.

Did you update Clockwork Mod? The new version is causing some issues with recoveries due to a change in update script (So I read). It looks like Nils Business Sense is updated to the new script and you could flash that via recovery to get operating again.

I had the same problem I just downloaded boot tools and fixed the permissions and everything works great! If you download something and it forecloses right away don't delete it fix the permissions first then try again.
Yea you most likely just have to fix permissions.

u have to go to settings/applications/manage applications go to the Market uninstall updates. Then flash the correct GAPPS this worked for me
You could always go into Astro or Titanium or what have you and restore your com.android.vending. I flashed to Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo from Warm Z this afternoon and they had a customized market on there and it just stopped working and so I went to the backup and restored that, overwriting the other market and everything worked again.
Just a suggestion.
hmm well would gapps would i have to install i thought i was downloading the right ones but maybe im not i defin would love cm now since it has wiimax
Check the link in the second post, the universal GApps at the top is what you want. You might have the wrong ones.
blah blah effin blah
1) Wipe everything (Data, cache, system).
2) Flash RC2: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/update-cm-7.0.0-RC2-Supersonic-signed.zip
3) Flash the GApps: http://goo-inside.me/gapps/latest/7/universal/
EVERYTHING. WILL. WORK.

ok i tried flashing cm7 and it says installation aborted
any idea why this is happening .?
also when i went back to myns rom rls5 it keeps restarting on phone calls
I downloaded the Vision ROM and used ROM manager to flash 7.2. For one, it only found 10 of my apps in the market. But when I tried to install Titanium (or any other app), I got an error. I tried rebooting once and then clearing market data, but it was of no use. Any suggestions?
Someone suggested that it is gapps issue and that the previous 613 worked fine. How does gapps work? Are there more features in the later versions of gapps? Should I flash the ROM and gapps back to back in Recovery?

You can try that, if it fails delete the Vending apk from /system/app or overwrite it.

you can try going to the android market website, logging in and try installing the apps remotely. Sometimes if this works after a few hours the install from the phone starts working also.
What ROM were you running before you flashed 7.2 ? Was it an earlier CM or a different ROM ? Because if it was a different ROM you should have wiped before you flashed.

I was on CM7.1 Stable.
I had a weird problem with the market (google play) too where it just force closed each time i opened it. To fix that, i just went to app management in settings and i uninstalled all the updates for the market, i then opened the market, went to the homescreen, waited a few minutes and google play was back. Since doing that, i haven't had any problems.
Maybe doing the same on your phone could fix the issue.
I tried doing this again. This time I went into CWM and did all the cache wipes and did a factory reset. Same error. I even tried to flash gapps 613 version and that also would not let me download apps.
I am trying to understand how the market works. It shows me all my purchased apps on the new ROM. What about my free ones? I know I can get it back from Titanium, but is that the only way?

maybe try fixing permissions (had a guy come to #g2root having some problems with the market, and fixing permissions worked for him)
Ok got it to work! I flashed the ROM, went straight to Manage Applications and deleted App data under market. It works now. I wonder why.

That's pretty much what i did when i had problems with the market and it fixed it for me.
Let me start from the beginning. I had flashed Decks Reloaded .500 RLS. I was adding in all my tweaks; manual build.prop, flashing beats+Xloud, and Bravia Engine. I reboot and make sure everything works after every flash. So, everything works fine, and I decide to flash
a2sd for good measure. Everything is working perfectly at this point. I had downloaded a tweak called MPEngine and decided I wanted to add this as well so I made a Nandroid using Online Nandroid from the market. I flash MPEngine, and it automatically fails. So, I go into my recovery, go to restore. Restore from CWM recovery(which is how Online Nandroid saves), and after I reboot I get a message about low storage. From this point I try everything in the book, wiping caches first, wiping everything and reflashing, wiping everything and flashing another rom, fixing permissions, adding and removing a2sd via terminal emulator, and finally formatting sdcard and wiping and reinstalling another rom. I am currently on Jellybread with the same initial problem. Insufficient Storage Error when I try installing an app from the market. I have flashed DTa2sd beta 4, but for reference I have also used the regular version. Needless to say, I'm going in circles trying to figure out a combination of wiping and flashing and whatever else I can do to get my phone in working order. If any one can help I sure would appreciate it. Bout to loose me brains. :silly:
