[Q] Wildfire S s-off

does anyone know if someone is working to unlock the wildfire S s-on with software??

Stop asking! No you cant S-OFF WFS with software.

i didnt ask about how to s-off the wfs i only ask if someone is making some progress

else, wait for htc allow unlocking of the bootloader
hopefully it will be available asap from their dev site

If wildfire s is getting any more updates then there's a good chance the ability to s-off will be included (following the process on htcdev). There is a good chance our poor little wfs's won't see any more updates though

One last question......why is so hard to s off this device from others?

Cause it's hboot is limited to MAX, fastboot mode lacks functions that are in desire, sensation, or any other device.
So you can't use htc method, same for the revolutionary method.
You want to software hack? Develop own hboot, otherwise spent 20 bucks for xtc clip.
I've bought one on UK ebay, used it once and sell to another person

I just want to give Eoghan Cunningham a.k.a eoghan2t7 a incredible thanks for his contribution to the HTC Wildfire S section of XDA-Developers. He is a role model. He shows that you can still take interest in a device even if you don't have the device. I wish that he taught me all he knows about Android so I can stop being such a idiot newbie and an annoying spammer & troll!!!
We wouldn't be as close as we are to getting S-OFF if it wasn't for him!

Yes thanks to him and many other people that have tried to unlock this phone. Unfortunately I won't be here when it does get cracked due to my new phone which will arrive in the coming days.

Lol just noticed this thread thanks for the nice comments I will be continuing in my goal for free s-off for this phone in anyway I can think of trying I'm going to re-install my Ubuntu distro to see I that can get me any more information from the stock hboot

although there have been [unsuccessful] attempts at a soft[ware]-unlock, the only known way(s) to unlock or s-off [gsm] one v is through a hardware solution. lg(e) tool or riff box both offer methods.

HTC won't give us S-OFF ever so forget about it. They won't even change CID if you pay em, this been asked already why not search before posting?

SuperCID and S-off can be obtained through various jtag methods: known lg(e) tool, riff box & medusa for gsm variant.

since i couldn't find anyone related to prev post,
now i feel like it deserves to own an xtc clip and to s-off it.
now that i have changed my mind to buy it or get it done from somebody near-by
if u guys know any one who deals with it please let me know.

No not without costs. There are certain shops in the UK, China and Russia that can do it for you......at home is a no go !

No idea, and to be honest i don't care at all, after more than 18 months no true s-off for the masses......i rather use my time useful instead of worrying about s-off.

Why would you hate it, s-off brings the most benefit for kernel (boot.img) you won't need to flash it manualy, and flashing boot.img manualy is 1 minute of job, so...

And to get s-off at home you need a thing called xtc clip...you can buy it for 50$ or so...don't know...not that expensive but also not cheap...
