although there have been [unsuccessful] attempts at a soft[ware]-unlock, the only known way(s) to unlock or s-off [gsm] one v is through a hardware solution. lg(e) tool or riff box both offer methods.
HTC won't give us S-OFF ever so forget about it. They won't even change CID if you pay em, this been asked already why not search before posting?

SuperCID and S-off can be obtained through various jtag methods: known lg(e) tool, riff box & medusa for gsm variant.

I just want to give Eoghan Cunningham a.k.a eoghan2t7 a incredible thanks for his contribution to the HTC Wildfire S section of XDA-Developers. He is a role model. He shows that you can still take interest in a device even if you don't have the device. Hello everyone I just received my device this morning and I'm completey confused as to how to root this device. I read somewhere go to http://htcdev.com/ or go to Modaco to install the recovery etc..Would anyone be so kind to tell me step by step how to root my device? Also on htcdev site, they down have listed the 1X on the drop down list. I appreciate it

No, unfortunately not. Since it has, besides to its special software, additional special hardwarelayers. Have a look on the attachment.

Xmoo said it should work, but after he gave it a try, it didn't. The hd7 unlock cable is basically an external powered USB OTG cable+microsd usb reader+microsd card (goldcard). It's nothing you couldn't build on your own. But It won't work because the HD7 gets S-Off'ed via Goldcard. Goldcards don't work on Tegra3 devices. Sorry guys, the OP has become really massive my fault!
a blank/bought java card wont help im afraid, as far as im aware it needs to be signed with HTCs private key so i wouldnt go buying one just yet

Yes, that's correct. But I ain't gonna buy it. At this early stage, it's all about gathering information. I will try to work step by stept with achieving milestones.

Yeah, I hate my ORANGB10 CID. Anyway, my One X isn't branded like "I can use ORANGE SIM only", no. I am in T-Mobile and just CID is that Orange.

No. I bought my phone new on Allegro, it's polish alternative of Ebay, very popular. The description was saying that the phone is 100% unbranded, so I thought that CID is also "normal". So, I didn't know that I will have that crap CID.

I don't think Windows RT has been ported to any unofficial device yet. I'm not sure if it's possible since the OS itself is closed source., and drivers can only help so much. It would be interesting to see someone try, though.

[OT] Soff services online will normally hard patch the phone using a JTAG or XTC-Clip.

Another thing we should probably consider is: Will our bootloaders allow NT kernels to boot on our device? If so, wouldn't we need s-off anyway?
