Replace the water drop 'doink' sound with a click - Galaxy S III Themes and Apps

Anyone else find the standard water drop noise really annoying? I certainly do.
To change the sounds you need to replace the files TW_Touch.ogg and S_HW_Touch.ogg with something more to your taste.
Here are modified files that replace the 'doink' with simple click, as it was with the S2.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qzsiry4eo02fq3d/TW_Touch.ogg
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hxi8hgxv6w3ms6l/S_HW_Touch.ogg
Put them in system/media/audio/ui you need root and a root browser.

Thank you, that sound was so annoying.
I dont suppose you know where the sound for the dialler keypad is?That is still the annoying water drop.

Ill have a look!

Thanks. I hated the dripping sound.

Hi there, Did you ever find a solution to this?
Can anyone else help in replacing the water drop sounds on the dialer - I know it can be turned off but would rather have a simple click/beep instead. I have seen some custom Roms have the sounds changed so it must be doable (I have the Stock Samsung Rom, rooted.)?
Thanks,
Olywa

I think i will replace it in a few Day's.
At the moment i am not able to do this.

I kinda like the the water drop thingy.
However, it's always nice to know how to mod these things, so a thanks from me too

op awesomeness
When I looked at s3 in store it was a major turnoff. Made mistake of asking Sprint employee how to.
Nonetheless this solves that annoying sounds. you rock. voted this as newsworthy.

I replaced these files as instructed but I'm still getting the doink sound.

I believe I replaced them correctly because I can manually play the click sound if I select these files in that directory.

I also replaced the Two files properly via Root Explorer... but the darn Doink sound won't go away...it's really damn irritating...
Even after rebooting my device it didn't change....

Did you change the instructions? Or did someone delete a response with instructions. Im doing this again but I swore there was more to it.
Delete the old ones and paste the new.
Make sure you follow the path. The first time one option seemed similar.
I just pasted these in the right folder after deleting the old ones first. Worked fine. Clicking away to my ears delight. Thanks again.

I just used these commands through ADB, it will also backup the current sound files to external SD Card:
Code:
su
cd /system/media/audio/ui/
mv Lock.ogg /storage/extSdCard/UISoundBackup/
mv S_HW_Touch.ogg /storage/extSdCard/UISoundBackup/
mv TW_Touch.ogg /storage/extSdCard/UISoundBackup/
mv Unlock.ogg /storage/extSdCard/UISoundBackup/
cp KeypressStandard.ogg TW_Touch.ogg
cp KeyPressStandard.ogg S_HW_Touch.ogg
cp Cam_Stop.ogg Lock.ogg
cp Cam_Stop.ogg Unlock.ogg
cp KeypressStandard.ogg /storage/extSdCard/UISoundNew/TW_Touch.ogg
cp KeyPressStandard.ogg /storage/extSdCard/UISoundNew/S_HW_Touch.ogg
cp Cam_Stop.ogg /storage/extSdCard/UISoundNew/Lock.ogg
cp Cam_Stop.ogg /storage/extSdCard/UISoundNew/Unlock.ogg
reboot
You might have to run mkdir /storage/extSdCard/UISoundBackup/ and mkdir /storage/extSdCard/UISoundNew/ first, I dunno.

did anyone find a solution for the dialer sound???
i did exactly as said and still having the annoying water sound!!!

Japanese arc camera sound

Now that we've got root, is there any way to get rid of the loud, godawful camera noise? It seems to be part of the stock ui since selecting silent in vignette doesn't work, etc.
Sent from my SO-01C using XDA App
slide out the left menu in stock camera app.. option in there to change shutter sound.. 3 sound options and off..
Nope, there's no off option in the stock app, and silent options in apps like vignette don't work for Japanese market phones. It seems to be forced at the rom level. Anyone rooted on a Japanese arc that can relay whether custom roms get rid of the shutter sound?

exactly it's forbidden to take pictures without a sound.
try this:
Go to "/system/media/audio/ui" there are folders like sound1, sound2 and sound3. go in the folders and remove the "camera_click.ogg"
of that didn't work go to "/system/media/audio/camera/sound*/ and remove "shutter.ogg"
Hope this works, good luck

Hiya, back with an update, just rooted and tried this with an on-phone explorer, and it says it doesn't have privileges to modify the sound file. Do I need a better file explorer or try this from the ox when I get home?

so did you delete the sound file or replace it with a silent one? Also what program did you use to delete or replace the file?
Don't you guys worry about probably breaking the laws of your country?
I've done it. First, I rooted the S0-01C, then got all the ADB drivers and such working on my PC. Remounted the /system in rewriteable mode using this guide here, http://karuppuswamy.com/wordpress/2...stem-partition-in-read-write-mode-in-android/
then went to the /system/media/audio/ui directory, and replaced camera_click.ogg with an empty ogg (opened notepad, saved as camera_click.ogg) using root explorer. Vignette is now completely silent.
Thanks for all the help!
Use Root Explorer
Rename /system/media/audio/camera/sound3 to /system/media/audio/camera/soundx (or anything you like)
Rename /system/media/audio/camera/sound0 to /system/media/audio/camera/sound3
Then select sound3 as the shutter sound in camera.
This is for HK rooted model LT15i 3.0.A.2.181
proliant's method is work on my Arc
thx
and for unrooted sony phone?
You have to live with the sound then unless you can turn it off in the camera menu.

[MOD] Gingerbread Horizontal Battery with 1% increment KE7

I've always used this mod in SGS1. I like it better than the vertical one because the numbers are better spread out and not so squishy.
Anyway here's my mod of Rawat's battery mod. The gfx were from old sgs1 framework and I really forgot where I got it from. Thanks to whoever who did the gfx. Thanks also to Rawat for the initial framework-res.apk.
I really only did the cut&paste and some testing, so I take no credit for this.
Hope someone finds it useful
Sorry I've been up too long doing this mod, it's time to zzz, so I can't write a detail installation instructions. But Chalid has made another similar mod (vertical battery) and has kindly put up some very detailed instructions there. Thanks! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1091177
Note: This is for KE7 firmware only, not tested with other versions.
edit: ok, seems fixed, so i've added back the attachment. refer post 5.
Installed on KE7..... However:
As expected it wipes all accounts on the phone (such as google/facebook etc.), but everytime I go into settings, accounts and sync to re-add them the whole phone freezes. As in as soon as I hit "accounts and sync" everything crashes, then goes black with only the the top of the display (I forget what you call it, with the phone signal, battery indicator etx. visable.
Then it comes back to life, but I have to restart luncher pro. Have to switch off wireless, and back on again otherwise it doesn't work either.
Also happens if I try and add any new account via contacts, or gmail.
Reverting back to original framework-res.apk cures the crashing problem. But then it's back to stock battery indicator =(
you are right. i didn't notice this coz when i replaced mine, it didn't wipe out any account, no i didn't go into settings.
ok, removed attachment for now and see if i can redo it. sorry for any inconveniences.
Shame. I liked it better than the vertical one.
Would deffo have used it. I'll keep an eye out to see if you repost it, and try again.

well ok, but i am not well versed in android hacking, so it's kind of a learning process for me too
i've re-done the framework-res, tested it for a day and seems to be fine now. here it is if you want to try it again.
The Account wiping can happen if you don't set the permissions right. Copy the framework-res.apk to /system first, change permissions to rw-r-r (644) and then move the file to /system/framework
Is it working? This looks sweet

I finally got it to compile, apparently it was because I was using and older apktool thingy.
But as for the little button, I was wrong on the assumption of changing that value since changing it did nothing to move ic_in_call_touch_handle_normal, so it's something else...

OK, I bit the bullet and rooted. I tried several versions of the APK file, but none of them run. The 1.1.24 version will start, but crashes immediately.
After a bit more investigation, I see that the /lib files that are in the flashable zip are already in the /system/lib folder on my phone (same filenames, anyway). I'm thinking that SNotes uses the MyScript libraries as part of its own HWR (even heard rumors that SNotes was created by Visual Objects). I'm fairly certain that messing with those files would wreck SNotes, so I'm kinda stuck.

S Note was created by the MyScript people. Well, not really created, but Samsung does use their HWR technology to decipher the notes in the stock keyboard. S Note is loosely based on MyScript. This is why the libs are already in the /system folder.
