Overclocking - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I just installed Juggernaut and was wondering where I can read up on overclocking the cpu safely and how to undervolt efficiently (If this Kernel supports it ?)
I had problems with cpu master then purchased Set CPU by Huang but the instructions are limited.
Thank you very much.

Wrong section my brother, try Q&A. This is a development only section.

Wrong section. Should go to q & a section but Wikipedia is decent at explaining it. Just Google it.

Look for Gideonx script for oc/uv in the dev section its better than any app IMO!!!
And wrong section bro

Tegrak is better but twilight and genocide both allow custom UV. Also revolted kernel. For genocide only use the version in the op of that thread
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
I agree tegrak is better, however to find the best voltage a frequency runs on you need to buy tegrak pro or VC pro because the lite versions can overclock but not overvolt. Plus tegrak also has internal voltage too.

CPU management?

What app does everyone recommend for the s3, voltage control doesn't seem like it'll work very good but want to know what everyone else is using.

I've heard good things about setcpu but voltage control works really well for me, though i don't really mess with voltage settings. The clock throttling works great.
OK I'm using VC and also have used setcpu but wasn't sure if there was one that's best used with the s3. Thanks for your responses

Cpu Editor found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1798765&highlight=cpu+editor
It's awesome.
I've been having issues that the Max freq goes up to 1.8 if I have set at 1.5 on its own.

The only way to get more steps is to have the defy+ kernel which allows you to have 4, but no way to get more.
Give me the link with this kernel, please.I don't find this.
Sent from my MB525 using xda premium
The benefit is not that good, good governor is the real ****. You can have steps for each mhz like 101, 102, 103 but if the governor scales it too slow...
I don't understand..excuse..

"4" is the most you could get. From Gingerbread kernel roms like MS2Ginger, as well as 2ndboot kernel roms like Quarx's CM10.
What Mavasilisk want to tell you is, 3 or 4 or many cpu steps doesn't metter, it's about choosing good CPU governors to control those steping.

Stable and attainable clock speed for our precious Galaxy W!

Hi guys! Please dont be shy to comment, share and suggest. Hope this thread will help users find that sweet spot for W cpu frequency. Must be stable and can be used daily

Can we play TR2 on ur set up bro? No lags also? What governor and scheduler are you using? Sharing your config would really help users compare.

What happened that it nearly bricked? Its not advisable to OC as we all know. Its not risky but dangerous

Tips on overclocking?

Want to overclock my note 2 to boost performance and speed (especially to lessen the lock screen lag). I am using the omega rom and wanted to know if there are any recommended settings I can use. Thanks!

Have you tried reducing the animation in the developer option? Overclocking is not recommended if you only want to reduce lock screen lag. Try changing the animation to ×0.5 that should help

Well I basically wanted to up the performance of my note and see the results of overclocking it. Thanks for the tip though!

Try cm 10.1 and redpill kernel if u want to test how beast device is with oc my device managed to score +5200 points in 3dmark with 1,8 ghz cpu/800mhz gpu, it just needs huge undervolt to get temperature stay in control.

Best tip?
Don't.
on a quad core @1.6 GHz I suggest to underclock.
Wanted to actually keep the touchwiz based rom (omega) so I can still use the spen features, do you happen to know any other ROMS that are touchwiz based & have settings to overclocking?

Your Best option for over clocking try this kernel
2 GHZ....
http://www.note2forum.com/forum/int...7-thor-thor-kernel-n7100-n7105-shv-e250s.html
But overclocking alone won't get your phone any faster...
try freezing unnecessary apps etc.,
