[Q] Baseband question - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello, i just got GNex.
and i was wondering which baseband i have to use to get the full benefit out of it.
i am currently on tmobile, in east coast of US.
I can't decide which would be better for me.
either
UGKL1 or UCLA1
can someone help?

UGCL1 is the newest one for North American use.

Whichever works best. I use a European baseband in Chicago

Bell galaxy nexus vs international version

Other than the Yakju issue, is there any difference between the two? I am interested in knowing the hardware difference like the quality of the SAMOLED screen, radio reception, etc And it is possible to flash the Bell one to Yakju just like the other Nexus, correct?
No difference at all and yes the bell version can be flashed to yakju (i did it)

Thank you! So there are no known problems specifically found in the Bell version? I'm still debating whether I should switch to Bell. Are there any rumors that Rogers and Telus will release a better version in January? 32GB internal storage for example?
hmmm there is a diffrent yakju is google the other ones are samsung

Update: Solved
Thank you, Flashed UGLA4 and am having no issues now. Before I was dropping signal left and right. Was starting to wonder about Samsung products. I prefer HTC but wanted my third Nexus phone..............
So If anyone is having data dropping in and out with T-mobile Flash Base band UGLA4 and all is good.
The baseband that your running isn't the best, have a look here and try the latest release: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405345
Are there newer versions of this base band?

Quick question about using the g nexus for Tmobile and Att

Does this phone run well enough to be a daily driver on tmo with 4g while on the road even more doesit work with Att 4g lte? How do I knitter I'm getting the compatible one for my carrier which is TMobile right now, and roll be Att in the future. Where can I also get the best warranty and overall price with product quality guarantee? Is it necessary to get the western Europe version with yakja and will the be a quality difference in other versions from school the other regions?

I bought my Gnex from Expansys-usaafter reading that it was a pretty reliable place to get the yakju version. I also bought a Square Trade warranty for about $70 that includes accidental damage protection as well, just in case. I've had the phone for a couple of weeks now on T-mobile and it works perfect I travel with it daily and have yet to have a signal issue or anything like that.

The gsm version (aka not he verizon versions) will work as well as any phone. E.g. the bottlekneck will be the network, not the phone.
even more doesit work with Att 4g lte?

The gsm versions will work with both (but not att lte). The CDMA versions will ONLY work with verizon.

Hey I'm sorry, th banks for all the info and concern it is really helpful I appreciate the concern. Anybody know if the g nez is worth buying if it's going for 450 on new egg and Amazon? And will I be feeling different if I get a sakju alternative like from Japan or anything different from other parts of the world in Asia or East Europe which aren't directly supported from Google and end up changing out the radios and the firmware. Will the be a lead to a loss or success?

I think its a damn steal for $450 and I'd jump on it in a second. To me this is the best phone on the market going for such a cheap price.
Are all the gnez the same with hardware specs?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Let's say I get a different variation of sakju I should be able to turn my phone into sakju and get it working with Google like it too right?

So what is the negative difference from the Amazon version and the yakju version, and would it matter if going to root and install custom roms?

From what I understand yakju just means it has yakju radio and firmware for ota updates from Google, what I think is when you buy a gnez that you can mode it into yakju with flashes of radio and firmware. Just a thought.

Best Radio

Can anyone suggest me a good radio for GSM Galaxy Nexus?
I live in Asia and am not sure if I need to use American or European radios. I haven't seen any radios specifically for Asian regions.

Even if so it does not matters, go to radios thread in general section, download them all and flash via fastboot until you find something thats good for you.
Im from south América and north american radios wont work for me, i dont see any south american radio either and even if so, theres many Carriers over here and they are all different, in my case only xxkl1 (european) radio works, rest are either slow or wont get data at all
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Doesn't matter what radio you use. Try the latest radios and find the one that best suites you. Just because irs good for one person doesn't mean that you will get the same Results.

[Q] Signal Goes Off every now and then ?

Just got my GSM Galaxy Nexus. On different ROMS or Kernels, the problem is there. Being at the same place, sometimes my Signal Goes OFF completely, and then it comes back instantly.
Is that Normal? Thanks
What is your baseband? Download Getril from the Market and see if the RIL and baseband match.

While this is true, its always a good place to start if you get signal loss randomly.

You reside in Europe, correct?
I would recommend you flash the newest baseband for European use.
