I had surgery on my left wrist and right hand earlier this morning due to a motorcycle accident :-\ I know that this has been discussed before but I was wondering if someone could either tell me or try to get Google voice typing working on a cm9 rom (I know somewhat that its the mic input doesn't work while audio output is running). It literally took me 55 min to type this much and I'm using my toe lol if anyone could help I would really appreciate it I'm gonna be casted on both arms for 3 months and typing is impossible to do with my fingers stitched up from ripping open from top to bottom and my broken hand and wrist casted all the way to my elbows. Thanks in advance
you could tape a stylus to your cast and no Im not making fun of you. I did hear awhile back of someone getting voice control working but I cant locate the thread I think I tried it and I couldnt get it to work but I will keep looking good luck
I found it hope it helps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543798

trackball on my Orbit seems to not work well anymore.
It lost "right" direction, only up/down/left work.
When I move it with my finger towards right, I feel ball not rotating and, in mouse mode, does not move to right.
Could it be only a problem about filth, or that part is really defective?
Is there a way to clean ?
trackball / rollerball failling
I have th same problem since a few days ago, doesn't work when you roll up, rest sides work ok. plzzzzz helpppp!!! I pretty sure is a hardware problem since I have updated the rom twice y still remaining the problem.
and another thing
anyone got a scroll wheel full of fluff that stops it working yet.....still....not a great loss - can't say I really ise the track wheel or the ball!!!!
Is the rollr "stiff" when rolled? Something similar happened to me with my BB Curve. I put a slighty about of water on my thumb and rolled the ball like normal. After a few times of doing this, all the crud was removed and it worked normally.
*note* this "fix" is probably not the best way as water + electronics = paperweight. but my Curve was under warranty and i used a very small amount of water
i've not had a problem with this (surprisingly, i've had my phone for a year and it lives in my pocket)
I would suggest using some solvent and spraying that around the ball and then rolling it for a bit. Contact Cleaner would also work
In my case it was only a problem with filth.
I solved it without disassembling, just pushing the ball with a finger towards not working edge and with the other finger tryng to roll in the opposite direction.
Now it seems to work quite well, even if I still can't undestand why in htc did not think to an easy system for cleaning.
Hey guys I've just resolved the exact problem on my Artemis, thank you for the idea, it was only dirty and I've spray it with little screen cleaning liquid ( it doesn't contain alcohol) and after 2-3 rols the left side is working again
Hey guys,
Yesterday my friend let his beer fall right on my leg, causing some damage to my HTC buttons and especially the wheel. After drying the device the noise of the buttons is like pushing a button on a very old calculator , soft cracking sound.
But that's not the biggest problem, the wheel is not reacting smooth, I need to apply quite some pressure with my thumb to get it moving. I don't exactly know what the problem is, maybe some dried up sticky beer hehe.
The problem is gone if I put my lips on the wheel and blow air in the device ( mouth - to - mouth procedure ) suddenly the wheel is smooth again, but after putting it in my pocket, same problem...
Maybe if I put the device in a steamy bathroom, the problem will vanish, I don't know. Does somebody has any idea's on how to fix?
his insurance should just pay for the repair
sounds like some rests of the beer still are dried so some of the parts.
did you already try to disassemble it and clean all the parts properly?
On the one hand side this probably ends the warranty for it, but then I'd say an Artemis drenched in beer probably wouldn't be accepted as a Warranty Case, anyway.
Cheers,
Markus.
Dip it in curry, great with beer!

use some Ethernol or 98% alcohol ( isopropol) on a ear bud and run that over the ball, it will help, also search on google, ive seen this complaint many many times, and kick your mate in his nuts.
I have similar problem!
my trackwheel suddenly started to ignore my commands, so I put a little alchocl to clean a dust from it(?!)
and now it s working great but press function in trackball is out of order
What a prick I am?!
Same with me, the press function of the ball is suddenly not working, also used some alcohol. Were you able to fix it?

unfortunately ,I still do not have a solution for our problem.
If someone find out how to solve this situation-please share with us
greetings
Damn, this is getting annoying, the mouse click is an essential function of the phone. Taking the phone a part won't have any effect, I believe, because the mouseball unit is solidly connected to the motherboard.

You have right,I have opened my device, but trackball is very firmly fixed for MB, and protected with some little cube case, which is impossible to open without breaking it.
very hard and hairy situation
hi ya guys,
i was wondering how do i fix my touch that doesn't seem to working.
Story on how it happened:
i was at Vicroads in melbourne waiting for my friend to have his turn at the counter for his business. I was visiting engadget.com on opera it was all working find i even showed me friend on an article and touch worked fine. After i find it running a bit slow i did a reset(by using the stylist to press the rest button on it.) After that restart the touch screen stop working.
Any suggestion on how to fix it?
Thanks,
Quan
do you have a hard case around the phone? I've read before that sometimes the hard case around it will put pressure on the screen thus already registering a "touch" on the device... thus meaning no other touch will register since its not a multi touch device. Although if you pressed your stylus into the reset button odds are if you had a hard case on there you would have had to take it off and it wouldn't have made sense for you to put it back on before you saw it was working again SOOOoooooo I'll guess that isn't an issue.
ALSO I read somewhere in here, not too long ago... 2 weeks maybe.... that some people had gunk (for lack of a better word) built up around the edge of the screen. With the gunk, dirt whatever built up around the edge it was doing the same thing as the cases where it was causing the screen to already register a screen.
I believe they used their finger nail to run it along the edge and get the stuff out... one person used some sort of knife (I shutter at the idea of taking a knife anywhere near my screen haha) and cleaned it out
'
Just a thought... if that isn't the issue then I'm sure someone else will chime in soon.
Could very well just be a hardware glitch, all be it a very random one
Okay, my Play digitizer screen became shattered due to a little accident last week.
I bought a replacement online and put it back together again with the aid of a video I found on here.
Everything seems fine apart from one thing, every now and then the screen moves by itself and has a mind of its own as if it's being touched, sliding through screens and selecting items etc.
Anyone else had this happen after replacing parts?
I know it's a long shot, but I plan to open it again to try and fix it, but to be honest I have no idea what to look for and any hints would help
if it works and going on the fritz by itself it means you didnt attach the cable right same thing happen to me on a few phones make sure u shove it all the way in lol
I really need to figure out how to stop dust getting behind the screen while changing it, every time I clean it there seems to be more

at any auto or paint store they sell prep or tack rags there a bit pricey bout 5 us $ but there worth it what i always use for situations like that
So after I read this: http://www.samsungupdate.com/androi...ost-common-galaxy-note-2-issue-with-the-s-pen
I decided to test it out, and sure enough the top left and bottom right the pen input veers away from the corners. However, if you just fill in the first two boxes to make them green you'll get some serious creepy sounds that the only way I figured out how to make it stop was rebooting the phone.
Edit: of course trying to replicate it now, it doesn't do it. Maybe I am hallucinating. Sounded like some kind of haunting/wind noises with water droplets in the background.
...No Wacom issues this way........

lol paranoid much?
Not really paranoid since the test pattern of the test doesn't even go up into those blocks, and normal wacom tablets have a bit of leeway space on the sides of it. It was just really creepy sounding, and I was able to do it twice before posting. But now when I actually try to do it, I can't replicate it at all, which sucks. Oh well.
it makes the weird sound so when you send your phone in for warranty work they can have their machine test the phone and listen for a pass/fail sound.
Pen issue
I am having the same issue with the pen too.
