Hi, i got some dust inside a xperia play that is almost invisible and a white speck that is very visible inside a new xperia play, i also got another play that has some minor dust inside the screen that can only be seen by using a bright flashlight.
So my questions are:
1)Is this normal?
2)Did this dust came from the factory?
3)Will i continue to get more dust?
Thanks
1) I have some dust. But if you still can view the screen when using, it is okay. If you want, send to centre and ask them to clean it.
2) Possible.
3) There won't be more dust.

that is not normal , i think your phone is second hand , there is no way for dust to come inside ( from factory )
i personally have some dust between touch digitizer and LCD, cauce i've changed my broken touch-digitizer. so i think that is not normal and please talk to sony support guys

The iPhone 4 and beyond never had that problem. The digitizer and LCD are fused together.

Look online, there is tons of topics of people reporting the iphone 4 problems of dust, and some from the iphone 4s.
there is some reporting the play but i want to know if pople here got it too, look your play under a flashlight while off to see if you got dust that can't be cleaned.
Anyone?

ok, so i bought a new screen protector, and when i applied it, there's no bubbles at all but... it's reflecting kind of a rainbow holographic look which is EXTREMELY annoying... best way to describe it is static/snow or w/e u wanna call it that u'd see on a tv that has no cable, but it's not black and white, it's rainbow colored and the dots are way smaller then on a tv of course... it's really annoying and i'm just wondering is it because i used soapy water to apply the sp? it said in the instructions to use soapy water . . . (it was just a small drop of soap in a whole glass of water, very minimal, almost no bubbles at all were in the water)

If you read around that is typical of some of the SP's some people report the rainbow going away on different brands of SP after a week or two . Some report it never going away, so what SP did you buy?
Also its not because you used water to apply it.

Ya, i contacted the seller and he told me that it was probably because the soapy water did not settle correctly to the adhesive side of the SP, so he sent out another one... hopefully i don't get the same problem with the 2nd one...
here's the product/seller if anyone is interested, i can't say if the product is bad or not, i might of just got a defective one or something, i'll let you know after i install the new one once i get it, the seller has great customer service imo so i really do hope things work out

other then the problem with the rainbow effect i gotta say i got it on very easily without a single bubble, the feel is great, there's no fingerprints on it, and when the screen is off (and the rainbow effect isn't there) it seems to be almost as transparent as the glass itself, i can barely tell it has a SP, just another reason i hope that the problem is resolved with the second SP

Hi!
I'm an owner of the HTC One X and I'm also a clean freak!
I noticed that the back marks really easily and the only way of cleaning it I have found so far is to use window cleaner, but I'm worried it will damage the material. Does anybody have any ideas?
Also, dust and dirt get into the gaps between the screen and the bezel, as well as inside the front facing camera. Once again, any ideas?
I'd be happy to hear any suggestions or any other troubles people have had cleaning it.
Thank you!

I used some post-it notes and carefully cleaned out the dust. If anything gets stick in the speaker holes then you can use the sticky part of a post-it to remove it.
Don't go nuts though and really jam in the paper as you might get it stuck then tear it or you may push dust further into the phone.
There is a paper tape. It is very good suction dust >>> People still use it to suck the dust particles remaining on the screen before applying the protective sheet.
I think the measures are very good so you can remove dust in crevices on your device.
Thanks, it works!
The problem is I used a pin before and I think I've pushed a lot in too far.
I guess I messed up.

I have been using "Pledge clean and dust multi-surface Original" for a couple of years to clean my notebook including the screen and and other electronics including my mobile phones it works great, also it cheap to buy, just make sure you spay a small amount onto a cloth and not on the item to be cleaned.
It says it for metal, electronic, glass and wood on the can.

You could test it by spraying some on an old junk CD/DVD that you don't want. The One X case is polycarbonate and so are CDs/DVDs. The exact recipe of polycarbonate isn't going to be the same but if the cleaner damages the CD/DVD then it isn't going to be a good idea to try it on the One X.
for daily cleaning the DHD official case with microfiber internals is doing wonders
sadly a little bit of the phone remains out of it like 5-10%
I got the white one x and typically use just water and microfiber cloth. If water doesn't do the trick I use eye glass solution. Seems to work fine.

I have the white HTC One X, and I work building and fitting sheds and gates ( so a lot of dirt ). I picked up my phone after a days work and the back just got covered in dirt finger prints/smudges, and i know this sounds ridiculous, but the next day they were all gone and the phone was as clean as new... Thanks HTC for the self cleaning phone

The only time I have noticed it got dirty was the first time taking it into work, once it 'self cleaned' it has never had dirt smudges on it since ( not from memory anyway), strange I know, I'm not mad...
OP, Google a product called Cyber Clean. It's similar to silly puddy. You smear it on your phone. Once you remove the goo, it picks up most of the hard to reach dust particles. You can get it at most computer stores.

I was using some liquid eyeglass cleaner on my screen and some must have leaked in to the display. A dark grey blob started from the left of the display and gradually began moving toward the center, shrinking as it made its way across the screen. It ended up disappearing overnight and there's no sign that it was ever there. Moral of the story? 1) Be careful with liquid cleaners and 2) the display's not entirely or well sealed.
Hey guys, just noticed today that the left side of the screen is raised above the Bezel am I the only one with. Might send it off for repair because the screen is more prone to cracking if raised as the glass can move around

I am having touch issue here with Xperia XA1. I bought two phones for me and my gf. Touch on the edges of the phone are not working properly on both phones. Keyboard keys like P and L are unresponsive.
I have seen other people complaining on Sony Forum.
Is anyone here having the same issue?
Thanks.

Not here. The full keyboard works without any trouble. If you enable "show taps" in developer options, you can see if your phone is actually detecting your touch.
It could be a faulty digitizer. Happens with even the best flag ships so it's not impossible.

Hi there. I see that you are using an XA1, can I ask you something? Would you be so kind to share its stock wallpapers from its system files please? I know this is not related to your topic but I'm just so desperate to have them...:crying:
I have no Issues with my touch screen. Although when I bought a new cheap screen protector off ebay I am finding sometimes it becomes "unresponsive" (in the corners the screen protector "lifts up" due to the curved glass of the phone and starts collects dust/grime).
Removing the screen protector fixes the issue. Do you have a screen protector?
Another option would be to go into: Settings - About phone - Diagnostics to test the screen. you can tap/ swipe anywhere on the screen and it will give you feedback on if it registered the tap or not. Lets us know!
I also experienced this issue but after switching from Swiftkey keyboard to G-Board and it seems that the issue went away so I doubt it is a hardware issue.
I'm just going to provide an update and say that now even without the screen protector, this phone doesn't really register my touches at the bottom right hand side of the screen. Especially the letter "p", "l", and the backspace key.
Changing keyboards doesn't seem to fix anything. Not sure if I should request for a new phone, or if it could be software related.
EDIT: It seems to have gotten progressively worse. Now its almost impossible to press the "p", "L" and backspace keys and the touch registers maybe 20% of the time. I'm going to ask for a refund, or a replacement.

That's got to be hardware. I reckon your digitizer is faulty. You should be able to return it to the retailer for a replacement. Or get Sony to do it for free.

I have same problem and go to sony care 3 days. Everything work perfectly
I want to give a summary of my story here.
I bought two xperia xa1 about a month ago. Both phones are having touchscreen issue within a week (edges of the screen are not sensitive). I sent to local service center in Singapore.
Now I have got my phones back. They replaced the screen for both phones and they are working fine so far.
Thanks to Sony, my new phones become refurbished phones just after being bought.
I feel like I bought refurbished phones with premium price.
It appears , there are certain batch of devices which have digitizers issues along edges ....
There are similar complaints on amazon regarding the same.

I thought so. Reading through forums on Sony and other websites and you see quite a few people who have this issue.
I got mine replaced on the spot at the store I bought my phone from. So far no issues. But I keep my fingers crossed.
Sony should address this issue. It might be a cheap phone, but still it's their responsibility and should issue a recall, or a replacement for all phones that have this issue.

This is not the first time ,when a batch of devices faced an issue .AFAIK, Xperia Z has a lot with yellow tint. Also one another phone with really fragile speaker.
This might be issue with one particular batch , which might have escaped while testing.
Or issue with display vendor.
Otherwise a solid device.
You don't have to stick with the keyboard the phone came with also why not use the speech to text function and just talk
Yes. I too had the same issue. Did a screen and touch replacement under warranty. Working well

What screen protector are you guys using ?
There are some reports about screen protectors interfering with touch.
I am not using any screen protection , just a generic rubber case for impact protection.

You can resize the keyboard to "deal" with the issue. But keep in mind that this touch screen issue affect all other apps too. Games and stuff. I personally don't think it is possible to use a phone with a defecting touch screen for long.

I am currently using the Zuslab 3D curved tempered glass screen protector I bought off ebay.
Its good, it does cover the whole screen, including the curved edges of the phone, however, it only has adhesive around the edges of the screen protector, not in the middle. So the middle of the screen does feel a little "hollow" as it an air bubble and not adhesive.

I'm just using a thin plastic one I bought from Amazon for a couple of bucks. It's really just to provide a bit of scratch protection. I'm using a proper case to protect the actual phone.

Maybe the touch issue is a software problem. A few hours ago someone on gsmarena said the problem was resolved with latest software update! (in the XA1 discussion).
Hi
New to this site but read an article you guys wrote on the new Z2 having issues with the front screen scratching easily. I purchased the phone 2 weeks ago and am enjoying it. But have noticed several scratches on the front screen. I am bit anal when it comes to protecting my screens on all my phones so this issue has me worried. All have done was put the phone in and of my pocket and there is definitely seems to be a problem.
I called Motorola and they agreed there was a problem with the screens and sent me a link for replacement. When I clicked on the link they wanted $29.99 to replace. The phone is only 2 weeks old and so far everything is great about it, I even purchased a few mods. But what good is a phone with amazing graphics when your screen is covered in scratches.
Any one having same issues ? Any advice on how to remove the scratches so I can put a stronger screen protctor ?
Thanks

What is the link for the screen? I too have little fine scratches on my screen of my Moto Z2 Force of course due to the type of material it is made of. I just want to replace it and put a screen protector on and should be good to go. Scratches are the only complaint I have about my Z2 Force to look on the positive side. I am more than happy with it and I had no idea when I bought it that they would have mods for this phone ! So what a fantastic surprise..
Scratches here are not a problem. Here all ok with the screen, just crackle by pushing the screen and battery just 2677mAh after few months. The battery is dead before anything going wrong with the screen, right? But great device. No screen protector needed here, no scratches.
