TSM-LockscreenParts Port 3 Lockscreens for the Nexus S
Original thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030028
Please take a second to visit and thank teamsbrissen for their hard work on creating this app plus supporting me and maddoggin during the port. Thanks to maddoggin for getting me started and sharing the epic source. Thanks to dagr8 in irc for answering questions.
This is my progress so far porting the lockscreen parts mod to the Nexus S. Once you install this mod, you settings.apk will be modded as well. When you hit the soft menu, and choose settings, below the about phone option will now be a choice called Locksreen Parts. Then choose Lockscreen Settings. First thing first, there is a choice at the bottom called Custom App. This is very important. Choose an app for that before you do anything else. What this assigns is an app to open when you use the 4tab lockscreen the top tab on the right is labeled TSM. When you slide that tab if you do not have an app selected, you'll reboot. Once you set that then open the app and choose between the first 3 choices, AOSP, 4Tab, and Rotary. All three lockscreens have the music controls on them. They work with the native Google music app I'm not sure about many aftermarket ones because I don't use them.
If you choose a lockscreen that isn't available nothing bad will happen, it will simply revert to AOSP. I'm calling this an alpha because it's unpolished, and it's merely a stopping point on me getting more to work. I would post the source but I can't see hosting it. The source is smali and it's available by going to google, finding smali and baksmali, once you download both those jar files, place them in a folder. Place my android.policy.jar into that same folder. Now with java installed on your machine (win/linux) run the following command to decompile the file:
java -Xmx512m -jar baksmali.jar classes.dex -o classout/
to Recompile the classes.dex if you were to make an edit run this
java -Xmx512m -jar smali.jar classout/ -o classes.dex
Then you will be able to see all the files that I have edited. Eventually I'll get around to posting the output from a diff compare to make it easier on anyone wanting to get into this.

alls you have to do is take your roms android.policy.jar, framework.jar, and framework-res.apk and place all 3 in a copy of this update zip. If something goes a wrong, flash your stock files right over them to get back what you had. I'm not sure on this one if it will even boot but if you make a copy of the update zip and put it on your sd with the stock files, you (SHOULD) be safe!

No Ive used xda since jan 2010 but have been a member for only 4 months lol = p
Here you can use this. It will flash anything you put in the /system or /data folder. just replace the placeholder files with yours and flash.
The updater script on this has no text so it will just say updating and done. I use this for testing everything.
You can rename the zip to anything you want. If you look up updater-scripts you can also set it to say things while flashing.
It is easy just need to add in a line that says
ui_print(" ");
and put what you want it to say in between the quotes
Hope this help. Always glad to see more people theming and learning.

All flashing things does is copies files into the proper folders and sets there permissions.

If you have SDK installed, you can pull the twframework-res.apk, framework-res.apk, and systemUI.apk from the device. This is where you can place them in the /app and /framework folders of the flashable zip.

Do you have the links you used to learn how to do this? Even though I'm not artistic, I wouldn't mind giving it a read and giving it a shot.
Gamermod 2
This ROM contains things that ARE NOT for the faint of heart. If you see something you are not comfortable with, DO NOT screw with it until you read and re-read and re-re-read everything about it. Standard disclaimer: if you manage to brick, blow up, vaporize, eliminate, choke on, insert into a strange place or otherwise screw up your device: It is your fault and your fault alone. NOBODY, INCLUDING MYSELF, is responsible for anything you mess up.
Inroducing: GamerMod 2
Screenshots in second post.
What GamerMod includes:
FI27 Base
Deodexed
Agat's 0.6.7 Kernel and Recovery
Adfree Android
Chainfire 3d free
ExTweaks
Rom Toolbox LITE
Google Now
PhAkEer's Placebo Hexen (check out PhAkEer's OP for more info / questions. Battery life seems to rock because of this.)
PewPew (best game on the market)
Custom Ringers
Heavily De-Bloated
Several Emulators (note, this ROM DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY GAME ROMS. You must obtain those legally, on your own. No, I will not tell you where to get them. No, I will not add any game ROMS. No, I will not include any BIOS's any emulator needs. DO NOT ASK or I will report you to a forum moderator.)
What GamerMod DOES NOT include:
A whole bunch of bloatware
Any Gapp besides the Play Store
Swype (if you want it back, you can get it back)
Launcher2 (saves battery)
Paid for apps/games (if you want the paid for version, then pay for it)
Lets Talk /PRELOAD:
/Preload. Most of you probably aren't familiar with this. Its a partition on our phone, set at blk0p12. That is how I install apps to data. Its a "cheat code" if you will. They gave us PreloadInstaller.apk... I just learned how to use it. And am learning how to mod it...
Here's the deal. This ROM kinda sorta permanently rewrites this partition. The only way to undo the changes i have made are to:
A) Odin a full friggen restore to the phone
or
B)Flash this nifty little Preload Restore package I made for you IMMEDIATELY BEFORE YOU FLASH A NEW ROM.
Let me repeat that. When you download a ROM to install, and leave GamerMod (you traitor), if you want to restore the previous /preload setup (and not have all my emulators, rom toolbox, adfree, and whathaveyou) install on your new rom, then you need to flash this BEFORE you flash the new ROM.
https://hotfile.com/dl/170944949/7f76198/Preload_Restore.zip.html

Is there a way to change a custom rom or make a theme where the general color is changed to say red purple or green like the theme jelly bomb. Is there a way to do it easy like change one file in the rom or do u have to go and change every image in the rom to that certain color?
I want to get into themeing or developing so I'm just trying to get a general idea of how stuff works. So I came up with this question knowing one of you expert themers or developers can help on my question and hopefully help me get on the right path for deving and themeing.

You'll need to change hundreds if not thousands of image colors along with xml edits to change the color of the default theme. It's quite time consuming. Most of the UI can be edited in the framework-res and SystemUI apk's.

Start with this post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886656 . Look at the guts of these files... That is a good start to see where things are... Also, take a look at JoshBeach and his mods (in his rom thread) ... And look at my battery mods... All a good start.

Start with this post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886656 . Look at the guts of these files... That is a good start to see where things are... Also, take a look at JoshBeach and his mods (in his rom thread) ... And look at my battery mods... All a good start.

Lets not forget the Smali..
Some VERY important things lie within the smali code.
For example..
My BLUtiful battery graph required SEVERAL edits to the smali code

You guys have the right people giving you advice Naddict is the man with themes. Strong Steve is great too. You could always save time, use their themes and donate to show your appreciation. Except for the notification bar, I have always themed my home screen myself. Use Apex launcher and there are tons of themes. I'm not big time Gator fan.. I download a high quality Gator image, make it my wallpaper, and choose a theme with an icon pack that most closely matches the colors I need. Gosms is highly customizable as well.

Dev School & PuB
Hello to all. Timmetal6669 here from Team Rejectz. Some of you may Remember me as that one Helpful Dev from the E4GT Forum and my work and contributions over there. I helped Lorjay589 Found Team Rejectz along with helped a number of xda users become the recognized contributors and themers they are today. Ive written several MOD tutorials, helped with ROM projects as well as released my own ROMS. (Which I'm working on a new port for the s3 now) For those of you who don't know my work let me proudly introduce myself and my Team. The following xda members; Lorjay589, Manufan, ShadowGod, Extreme Sense and Twisted Dan ARE Team Rejectz!!! We are also closely affilliated with Team Nocturnal and Team Venum. I would like to give a shout out to Mijjah74, Big Toys Rock, Rwilco (love u bro), Dazed and Confused, Venum and many many others but the list would be too long.
The purpose of this thread is to offer up and coming Devs and Themers as well as all xda members a chance to bring something to the table here at xda. So if you...
+always wanted to learn how to theme, or develop Custom Roms or Mods..
+ dont have a clue how to develop for android but have a general understanding of computers
+ are artistic and are willing to learn
+ have always wanted to be a recognized developer but no one took any time with you...
Then this the place! Noob friendly, just need to have the time and willingness to learn. You might even become a member of the Team! This is not gonna be several written tutorials by me (Although all devs are welcome to throw in thier knowledge and how to's ) Any one who has worked with me knows that I'm a personable guy and love to help. So im offering myself as a friend and teacher. Add me on gtalk if you are serious about learning. [email protected] . All devs, Themers, contributors are all welcome here as well to drop your mods, tutorials, tips, tricks, and images or help anyone noob or newbie to Android or the S3. I will update the OP with helpful tools, links, and apps occasionally. Pm me if you think you have something to update in the OP.
No question is a dumb question here. We all are at different levels of expertise here on xda and the point is to learn so there will be no flaming here. Period. Jokes and horsing around is encouraged tho just keep it clean and above the belt
The other purpose of this thread is to have a place for discussion and fun for all Team Rejectz fans and supporters alike. Welcome to the Official Team Rejectz Dev School & PuB!!!!
TOOLS & LINKS FOR DEVELOPING°°°Although I can't post it here, I highly suggest obtaining a copy of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe CS6 Fireworks for theming purposes °°°+Team RejectZ Quick Fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1913264

Code:
cd ~/Downloads
chmod a+r ./51-android.rules
sudo mv ./51-android.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules
service udev restart
If the last line gives an error, try this:
Code:
sudo /etc/init.d/udev restart
