There seem to be new icons for posts and I was wondering where they were from and when they were added. I only just noticed them!
This isn't really a question just more of a discussion sort of topic.
New Icons
We added them just for fun--many of them seemed more practical than what was there before. Also, we're preparing for the new theme coming soon.

Haha just seen the new theme However it looks kind of retarded where on my 1366x768 (or whatever) display it has a horizontal scroll wheel.

Lol, I tried the 2013 beta as well and it didn't work particularly well, although I did like the colour scheme and the general UI of it.
Also, I can't tell whether the icon I'm using for the title of this post is supposed to be a generic smartphone, or is based on the iPhone
I dunno, the buttons at the top do look really too big and it reminds me of your average forum tbh
but hw did u all get to use tht theme?.....i see theres no option in mine

I would like this photo edited, that I have attached. Id like the subject to be more in the center, say on the main home screen...as it stands now, a lot of the subject is hidden by the sense launcher and I would need my main screen to be the far left screen to enjoy this wallpaper.
If anyone is able to work some artistic magic to reveal more of the subject on the main(center) home screen and able to reveal more of the art that is hidden under the sense launcher and hidden off of the left side of the screen...it would be greatly appreciated. my experience w/photoshop is limited to image size changes which doesnt really help my cause.

When looking at the lock screen my phone doesn't display the date. Its cut off. All I see is Mon. May and the very top of the actual date. Anyone else have this problem? Wasn't like this any other time.
Edit.. didn't see any other posts when I started to post this earlier and didn't finish. Now that I did I see others. Mods, feel free to delete.

it does sort the apps menu... hit menu, edit , sort , save... and the lockscreen thing is easily fixed by swapping fonts

well yes they are... lock screens can make or break a phone. even windows 8 will have a customizable lock screen. Widget locker comes the closet to the best but samesung is awsome lock but needs widgets....

Voted. Hopefully Google does have this fixed in the next incremental update. It does feel like it takes a bit too long for the screen to rotate. I understand that they didn't want to have the screen rotating inadvertently, but I think they went just a little too far. It isn't awful but it could definitely use improvement.
It doesn't need fixing as it was deliberately set that way by Google - it's not a bug!
I like the delay as otherwise the phone would be changing orientation all the time as I move!!!

They should let users decide if they want a delay.
I like how people argue about how Android is so awesome cause of it's customization and it's open etc and then when there is a design decision made that people hate, others have to defend Google by saying how good the decision is and nothing needs to be fixed etc... If it's so great and open and customizable then Google should let the user decide if they want a delay or not.

There is no issue if you watch YouTube reviews it has been said that this is clearly a transition effect. Every person that has showed the screen rotation has the same effect and supposed "delay"
I think some of you are comparing it to the iPhone transition when rotating. AOKP has a speed up option I lowered mine and its fine.

Wouldn't that be the same as having the user decide to root their phone to make it faster? This topic is pointless, if your really that nit picky about an issue and want more to customize, then flash a rom. Cry me a river, build me a bridge and get over it.

Do people realize that this is not a bug? Before 2.1, android had instant rotation but around Froyo, they added 200ms delay to prevent accidental rotation because it happens quite often and it's annoying. You could just look at the source for a moment and realize this. If you want to change this value, just change it back to 0ms or 50ms.
The delayed rotation isn't an issue, but it's pretty buggy and doesn't register often, like the sensor falls asleep and u gotta shake it to wake it back up - then it works fine again (with the proper delay).
I always chuckle when my wife shakes her phone, thinking it will wake up or rotate due to shaking
It's like my Dad when he used to move the Nintendo controller when Mario jumped - couldn't stop laughing!

If you feel like opening up some apk's and finding the asset you can always do that. Could be in framework-res, contacts or any number of default apps though

The photo is in the framework-res apk ? How did you open the apk ?
Apk's are just zip files. So winrar

Just made the switch from iOS (iPhone 11) to a S20 Ultra, I hate battery percentages. I have removed it from the notification bar but when I swipe down to see my notifications it appears again.
Any way to remove this without rooting?

It's a bug on Android 10 and will be fixed hopefully on 11... We can't even hide it with root or _hex and so on. Really annoying.

I can remove the percentage just in settings. I am after removing the icon and just keeping the percentage though if anyone knows of away go achieve that?
S20 Ultra if it makes a different in the model.

Get a grip
You can also remove the battery icon/percent with synergy and substratum lite using complete one ui theme.

There is NO Battery icon Or Percentage Icon on the drop down notification only in the statusbar.
And its removable.

Unreal how some of you folks get heated so quickly and can't seem to behave. Let's be clear on one thing, name calling and or personal attacks have no place here.
