OEM Samsung (micro sd) 32GB Class 10 - Galaxy S II Accessories

Hi, just wanna share a genuine product, after using it a month and tested it with H2testw.
I'v used a test of 20GB write and read (6gb i'v used before the test and the total capacity use is 30GB)
The Results
Write Speed: 10.6MB/s
Read Speed: 18.1MB/s
Also checked it before with the app SD TOOLS few times got almost the same results:
W: 10.0
R: 18.4
Seems like an original one...
Heres the link for this micro sd card (I'v bought it because the good price): 34.20$

I too have bought a Sandisk MicroSD SDHC 8GB card which finally arrived from eBay seller nextdaymemory today. I installed the SDHC patch recommended by StefChri in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1720617#post1720617
Works perfectly!
Where did you get it?
Hi Snake28,
where did you get the card?
Valen
Works with Artemis Touch 3.01, 5.2.1921 SDHC
It works with the mentioned rom. Although I had some problems with recognizing in the beginning, I flashed the rom again and I worked immediately.
Brought it from memoryshop.nl (Dutch)
http://www.memoryshop.nl/geheugen/425/microsd-(secure-digital).html (Now, the card is temporarily out-of-stock)
My costs were: €86,00 all-incl. (send within the Netherlands)
Brought it the 6th of [email protected], got it the next [email protected]

I also bought 8GB SDCH for my artemis running wwe 3.1 including bepes sdhc hack. anyhow its quite slow, sdtools showed me like 300 kb writing and 700 kb reading spead. Sandisk tells class 4 cards run about 4-5 mb read/write.
Anyone any idea, what could be my problem? I wondered wheather the card is fat 32 formatted, how do I find out?
I have the same problem. Writing to the MicroSD via the O2 XDA Orbit (Artemis) is very slow. I have tried putting the card in the small Sandisk adapter which the card came with and it is also slow. BUT when I use a different MicroSD card reader/writer (USB2.0) it works much faster (140 MB file writes and reads in 10-12 seconds). The reader is one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRANSFLASH-MI...ryZ51082QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
So it seems to be a hardware problem.
4GB kinsgton work flawlessly also.
One other thought ... have you got the "encryption" enabled for data transferred to storage cards? I think this slows the data transfer even more through the Artemis. It is still slow though, as the data connection between my Artemis and my computer is still only a maximum of 10 Mbit/s (i.e. c. 1.25 Mbyte/sec max).
In my post at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350383
you`ll find a Benchmark I did with an "old" 2GB MicroSD and an 8GB Micro SDHC Card.
Surprisingly the Performance of the 8GB Card was much better then I expected with the SDHC-Drivers provided by this Community.
When I reformated the 2GB Card to FAT32 to work with the new SDHC Drivers Speed went down significantly. But the provided .pdf File shows all this Data quite well....

lol i'm going to buy one to but they aren't in stock have to wait
Can anyone explain the different classes of card available (class, class6). Is there a particular one needed for the orbit/artemis.
Also - I note that you can get 16gb cards. Anyone tried one yet??
My Orbit worked first time with an 8GB Scandisk bought via EBay.
Down loaded and ran this .cab file as suggested earlier:
http://members.cable24.at/immogroup/...HC-Artemis.cab
Running WM6. No need to re-format.
The complete link is:

12 GB will be available in February and 16 GB in June or July. The class indicates the minimum writing speed, so with class 2 you will be able to write data to your card with at least 2 MB/sec. I don't think your pda will be able to write more than 2 MB/sec. but you can try it out.

I think so. Afterall with the new ex2 fix no need for a class6. If I had the cash would go with the 32gb.

If anyone has a Fry's near them, the Kingston Class 4 16GB MicroSDHC is on sale this weekend for $33. I am going to pick one up myself at lunch.
@pinoymutt I never heard of fry's so I probobly don't have on near me, too bad.
but this is going to be a great upgrade for me, since I've been using a class 2 8gig card anyway
You can buy it from their site too. http://www.frys.com/product/6340051?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Sorry I didn't mention that -- same price in store or online this weekend (Frys.com used to be Outpost.com if you are familiar with them, Frys bought them). You can also order online for local pickup if you live near one (newer feature for those that didn't know). But I digress...
If anyone is interested, I ran a few speed tests using Crystal DiskMark against some other cards I had laying around, and the specs aren't too bad!
1. NEW 16GB Kingston (Class 4) - 13.13 MB/sec READ & 9.056 MB/sec WRITE
2. 8GB Patriot (Class 4) - 13.41 MB/sec READ & 9.672 MB/sec WRITE (this is card I had before in my phone)
3. 2GB Kingston (Unmarked Class) - 13.40 MB/sec READ & 4.805 WRITE
and for giggles I threw in a regular 16GB Class 10 A-DATA SDHC card that I have in my digital camera and came up with - 13.39 MB/sec READ & 11.44 MB/sec WRITE!
So based on these specs, since Class speed ratings are measured on write speeds, the Kingston performs at a Class 9 (if it existed), which isn't too shabby for the price. Sure, it may not perform at this efficiency all the time, but is certainly acceptable if you will be using it for media storage like me!

[Q] 16GB class 2 vs. 32 GB class 4

I currently have 16 GB class 2, and i am about to but 32GB class 4.
what is the diffrences beetween them ?
The games will work smother with class 4?
I have a 32 GB class 10 micro sd card, bit I didn't really notice any difference in speed compared to the 8 GB class 2 micro sd that came with the phone...
Sent from my R800i using XDA
The class rating of an Sd card is based of off its Write speed. So a 16gb class 2 would write at 2mb per second, the 32 gb class 4 will be able to write at 4mb per second, There is a slight "catch" however when using larger storage Sd cards, its been explained to me in the past that when you go up in storage it takes the device (phone, pc, camera ect.) longer periods of time to initially read the card itself because its now reading through more storage space then before (even if that space is empty in places).
With that in mind, the 32gb class 4 will Write files to it self at a faster speed then the 16gb class 2, but it will take your phone longer periods of time to access the information on the larger Gb card, so will games play smoother off your Sd card, technically no, they wont. But what you will achieve are faster data transfer rates when moving files to and from.
Also take into account that the class rating system isnt exactly perfect. For instance my 32gb class 4 is rated to write at 4mb per second, but its achieved 6mb per second depending on the files, and Im currently using a 32gb class 10 which most of the time writes data at 12mb per second.
I hope this helps
I think the best would be those samsung or sandisk ultra class6 cards.

There was some other thread around where people found that class10 cards had higher latency and slower access times than the class4 ones. So they're not really suited for mobile phones where quick data access is more important than high transfer rates.

I still believe storage size has a greater effect on access time then the class rating, classes are read/write speeds but more space takes longer time to read. The class itself being suitable, depends more upon the manufacturer of the sd card, and the manufacturer of the device and the device its being used in. A 4gb class10 is going to give you great performance in your device where as a 32gb class10 will indeed function a little slower but depends if you need all that space or not. I'm no expert but that has been my experience.

It will decrease its "lifespan" but probably won't kill it, I think the apps2sd script bumps things up drastically and I didn't have any troubles for the while I was using it, but the SD card manufacturer and its class might have some effects on the bumped up lifespan .. probably good to at least make sure you have a spare!

I indeed have a spare one that I am using in my OG droid. Lol. I use that phone as an ipod touch like device. Too bad I don't have a sim card because I'm on cdma. If I were, then I could use my OG droid when I want to use a slimmer phone that has a physical keyboard. However, SwiftKey has me not missing my physical keyboard.

your screenshot is showing your internal memory test. If you want to test external memory then you have to pick /sdcard/external_sd instead.
To respond to OP: I got mine from Amazon, cost me 54 EUR for SanDisk UHS class1, class 10, XC I 64gb. 32gb Sammy MicroSD HC class 10 is performing a bit better for me (just a slight bit) but lacks the space, and SanDisk one is performing as a beauty here.
ps: if in need of my screens for test on Sandisk, let me know.
Is it worth getting a 64gb card for sg2?
I ask as I've seen many reviews tgat say data can be wiped as it's not suitable.
I'm in the market for a card though can't decide if 64gb would be overkill, but at same time would negate deleting old files vids etc I may need later...
Sandisk seems the way to go, any thoughts?

Depends on your need for storage space. I had 12Gb of music on 32GB one and photos and vids just zeroed it, let alone apps/games on it. I have no problem with 64GB now. I guess, it's each to his own. And if it is going to be self_wiped, then it will be my loss there, but I don't see any problem at this time, nor my microsd performs bad or has glitches.
Having SanDisk only for a month now, I can say I'm pleased how it's performing in terms of speed and stability. I can't predict what comes next but I never had any microsd breaking on me, or any problems in the past (had from 2 t o64GB microsd from SanDisk, Samsung etc... over 4 years time span).
Hope this helps a bit.

Owner of SGS2 here (visible in my sig.): If you pick /sdcard on SGS2 it's measuring internal storage (16GB one), if you change it to /sdcard/external_sd, then it's testing external microsd card. Dunno what SGS3 does and what not, it's on ICS as a base...

I just bought a sandisk 64gb sdxc. Can't wait for it to be delivered!!! $60 AUD on Shoppingsquare, which i think is good value
And now for my 2cents worth:
Is 64gb an overkill?
Yes, but that's what I said about my 16gb card 2 years ago, and now I have no space.
Besides, i envisage apps, music, videos to get bigger as it gets better in quality.
e.g. with 64gb i can afford to have lossless audio.
Also, I have now in my room, 1gb, 2gb, 4gb, 8gb micro sd card.
I probably would have spent less money if I upgrade to a much higher capacity each time.
not to mention they are now just sitting there being wasted.
Usb adapters, lik SanDisk one, FTW / then you have a "switchable" USB key...
I don't have any wasted microSDs at all, but still has 2 x 4gb, 1 x 8 gb and 1 x 16gb micros's...
Gonna put in an order for one of these. Thanks for advice!
nice!

Hi,
Storage media of any type does not 'self-zero' itself. When it is full it stops you from writing data. Think about it: Would Sandisk still be in business if it did?
A likely reason your Sd card are self-zero'ing is because you bought a counterfeit card from a shop like Amazon or Ebay.
This is very common.
What happens? The fraudster buys cheaper 4 Gb SD Cards. He then modified the SD card firmware so that it reports to the operating system that the card is actually 32Gb. The O/S formats the card (typically a quick format by writing a few blocks at the start of the card) and you start coping the data across. Regretfully when you cross the 4 Gb limit of the card you end up writing no where. Seems that the data is simply zeroed or another error appears.
There are numerous of reports about this on Amazon.
Solution:
Don't buy SD cards from Ebay.
If you buy from Amazon then ensure that you buy from Amazon and not the Amazon MarketPlace.
Finally: If it is too cheap, then there may well be something amiss ;P
Also, I have now in my room, 1gb, 2gb, 4gb, 8gb micro sd card.
I probably would have spent less money if I upgrade to a much higher capacity each time.

Problem
i buy de sandisk 64gb and when i tranfer files from mi pc to the sd card i got slow tranfer speeds (around 5-6 mb/s). The sd is in fat32 that possibily affects the perfomance?, when i do sd speed test from the play store i got 13mb/s write and 30mb/s read.
Also i cant achive mounting correctly on ntfs with the app from the marquet ntfs mounter which is in xda
someone pass something like this?

64Gb SanDisk works fine on mine, though I'm not on Cmiui, I'm on Sensation 4.1 flavor now, it's ICS 4.04 based (was on GB 2.3.6 before), 32GB Samsung one works flawlesly on my kid's SGS2 and any other older microSd we have works. Other then that, all my old microSd's are workign OK with adapters and such
No waste for me
