Third party 4000mah batt with white cover(6/15 update real figures) - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I got my GN 4000mah battery few days ago. Which is really thick, about
twice size of the 2000mah one.
And I can choose black or white back cover as I need, which all comes
with Samsung logo sticker(who will use that?)
Here's some rough result I got so far.
7:00am 100%
4:00pm 75%
10:00pm 60%
And I keep using 3G or wifi all day long. And play some games like iGun Zombie,
I think it can last for two days for sure.
The only disadvantage is ugly.....
6/15 update real statistics-----------------------------
All data are recorded by batt pro with real daily use,
1:00am~7:00am are flight mode when I sleep
Other hrs 3G or Wifi is turned on(out door 3G, in door Wifi)
Receive and dial daily phone calls, Line and QQ are used daily
6/14 00:49:12am 98% 4193mV
6/14 05:49:12am 96% 4126mV
6/14 10:48:12am 86% 4031mV
6/14 15:49:12am 79% 3966mV
6/14 20:49:12am 71% 3906mV
6/15 05:49:12am 65% 3900mV
6/15 10:49:12am 64% 3888mV
6/15 15:49:12am 37% 3773mV(Play iGun Zombie for near 2hrs, and several video phone calls)
now 6/15 20:10 -> 29%
Wont be a problem to last until 5:00am

From Taobao. Around 20RMB each.

Hi Ya whats the make and model?

I think what's cool here is the fact that you are able to do this with your phone to begin with. Having the choice is the important part, regardless of how ugly it might look. For some people battery capacity is crucial, and if you happen to use the phone as a part of your work and charging every 8 hours isn't an option, then looks probably does not matter as much.

If it makes you feel better, the only reason the Razr Maxx gets awesome battery life is because it packs a 3300mah battery. The phone is literally 75% battery.
This is the price we pay for awesome performance.

Yet its stupidly thin still... and matches the nexus for specs... lol

And there's gonna be 4000 even 5000mah battery for S III,I guess.
In my personal experience. The 2000mah original battery is quite enough
for my daily use from 7:00am to 11:00pm. But if I watch more movie
,play more games even use my GN as a 3G hotspot. Then I will bring the
4000mah battery with me.

where did u get the 4000 battery??

Drool. Im definitely going to have to grab one when they put one out. a full day of heavy use would be fantastic
I got 12 hours out of mine when I plugged it in yesterday at 25% left...
That's roughly the same as my iPhone was.
Considering it actually multitasks and generally by nature will suck more juice, I don't get all the complaining about it.

[Q]Legit 3500 mAh battery?

I want to extend my battery life. Wondering if anyone's tried anything but the stock 1850 mAh battery? If you have, please provide a place to purchase it. Thanks
JUST GOT ONE IN FROM CHINA...WILL REVIEW IN A COUPLE DAY...IT DOESNT SEEM TO READ THE TEMP RIGHT...trying to kill it now ( i know it doesnt matter but i like to see how quick i can kill it off)
Those batteries are a scam..why bother getting a bigger one anyway, not only do you lose Nfc, the stock battery already lasts a whole day easy
I don't get the problem with the battery, I can watch shows and movies all day at work and still come home with at the worst 40% battery life

Innocell 3800mAh Super Extended Life Battery
I have used Seido Cells with G1's before and they were still running just like new after 18 months of heavy usage, twice the battery life over stock. The case looked better on the G1 as the back was flush. On one of the phones the case did crack and break after a 3 ft fall. It was a cheap and quick replacement from Amazon, under ten bucks if I remember right.
The one offered is a 3800mah at 69.99 and shipping now.

I really want a better battery too, I'm waiting for ANKER to make one for the t989. I have no idea how people manage to squeeze so many hours from there phones on this stock battery, but I usually go 5-7 hours before it dies. I'm not a heavy user but I do have my screen to 100% all the time. I don't mind carrying spare batteries.

Seido 3800 mah Battery

Guys here is my performance with the Seido big battery for the GNex.
Glad I didn't buy the RAZR Maxx. Worth every penny. Rooted stock ROM, average use, on WIFI all day, watched about an hour of YouTube.

People reach more than that I believe with stock/extended battery. I'd look into a custom from/kernel those developers do amazing work with their tweaks
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I'm over seidio batteries. When I had it for my OG incredible they didn't offer any advantage over stock and were 'rated' with higher mAh.
Save your $70 and get the extended battery from VZW when it's on sale.
True it was pricey.. I never use NFC, although, I keep the stock battery and cover in the center console in the car. The extended from Verizon offered about 400 more Mah, that wasn't enough. The Seido is more than twice the stock battery. I love the matching case, I'm about 6'2" with big hands, the extended battery helps it fit in my hand.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I'm 6'3", I like the feel with the 2100mAh, the smaller 1850mAh feels a bit light...
It's all preference really though. Plus the rear case on the 3800mAh kills the aesthetics and the color doesn't even match.
I'm hoping when 4.04 gets released my battery woes are solved. So far, it looks promising.

That's pretty damn impressive, though the first half of the time used on your phone seems quite static, as if you were sleeping or just leaving your phone in hibernated mode.
Curious to know your ROM and kernel combo?
Cheers
My extended 2000 mAH battery serve me just fine (GSM model).
I got 3 hours screen on time with 3d 8h stand by time (80 hours), and still 13% left.
If I used for about 5 hours screen on time, I could get more than 2 days stand by.
Granted, the device was on WiFi most of the time.
But, when I use 100% mobile internet (0% wiFi), my record was screen on time 4h 29m, with 1d 13h stand by (37 hours).
So, it really serve me fine with my usage pattern (mostly web browsing, facebook, g+, youtube, navigation and games, little bit emails).
And still look nice!

In my honest opinion, I think the 2000 aMH is the sweet spot in terms of weight, looks and length of charge. I hold my phone in my front pants pocket so anything heavy would start to sag my pants.

Yeah the last time I had charged it was the day before, and I didn't end up charging it till the following day after the screen shots were taken so 3 days or so.
I was running Gummy with I believe either stock Kernel or if Gummy comes with a Kernel that, because I didn't flash a kernel. I went from Stock, to foxhound, to Gummy.
I have since flashed AOKP M3 but I am not getting the same battery life as I was with Gummy, so I am reflashing it today.

Same here... not to mention the problems I had with my Seidio Incredible extended batt that they went to great lengths to ignore.
I have used their batts on the Dinc and the xv6800 but this time around... screw them, their high prices and crappy service. I bought the spare battery with charger and carry the spare batt with me but hardly ever need it. With the standard bat I get by almost everyday (and this is before the 4.04 update) AND I get to use the standard case and holder with my nice slim phone.

Im in the camp of getting the Seidio 3800 battery . I already ordered it and it will be here this week . In the past its their slim extended batteries that never really amount to anything but an expensive stock battery . I had the 3500 for the HTC EVO 4G and loved it . Currently I work in a building where I get bad 3G service and only 4G . So my battery takes a beating on a daily basis . Yeah I can squeeze through a day on a full charge but thats just barely making it by . The 3800 should provide more than enough boost for me . Also got a holster and case combo with it (love discounts) . I use a holster mainly due to the fact I hate putting a phone in my pocket, also I use the phone as an mp3 player at the gym . Its right there at my side when I want to use it . I know some arent to keen to holsters but to be honest I really dont care LOL . It serves its purpose as I need it to , also the case will break up the black extended battery cover and grey metallic body of the Gnex
Totally stock, no tweaks yet. Yesterday was my day off from work, then sleep all night. Work all day today.

just wondering if there is enough battery life addition to warrent buying one, or jsut buying another standard battery?
your findings and thoughts would be appreciated.
thank you
The Verizon (cdma) extended battery is 2100mah, the 2000mah extended battery is for the GSM phones
I get an additional 3-4 hours. It may not sound like much but there's a big difference between 14 and 18 hours.
Either way, it doesn't add much size/weight so it's worth it. Also, I think there's a 14 day return period for accessories and the battery qualifies so you can give it a try and return it if you don't think it's worth it.

Don't expect that much difference with the lte version add the gsm version. With the LTE extended it is still pretty bad. In a full day with 4G on I can get 2.5 hours of on screen time with the extended. Can't imagine how much worse stock battery can be. Maybe 30 minutes less?
I should throw it is my phone and even see if there is a difference. On wifi you can always expect better on screen time as it consumes less battery but I want more battery on 4G!

Even if the extended battery is minimal, you might as well get it over the stock one if you're going to purchase a second battery.
The GSM extended battery will give you 14% more use than the standard battery. If you get 10 hours normally, expect another 1.4 hours...
I like it more because it adds more weight.

Could have been a perfect phone, may return it.

I still have about 10 days to try this phone out. I'm trying to get a phone that will last me a work day and a little beyond so i'm not so worried about my phone dying on me.
I do quite bit of emailing, GPS and Hotspot. And though I'm impressed with the GS3 Verizon (much better than my GNEX), I'm sad to say that this phone could have been better with perhaps 2500 mAh battery. Instead of trying to make the phone as thin as possible, keeping in line with Razr Maxx thickness, it could have done it. a whole day phone.. I'm not a apple fan but it's about damn time Android phone last longer. not really apples to apples but still.
I hope that within the next 10 days someone announces a slightly larger battery that' doesn't change the thickness too much, otherwise.. this phone goes back to verizon minus $35 restocking fee, and i go buy a large bulky, ugly extended battery for my GNEX.
ummm my battery is really good. I have been often getting > 24 hours per a charge.
The phone actually has very decent battery life, especially considering the size of the display. I think you should read into battery management a bit. Mine goes 2 days without charge, but I don't play with it all the time. First few days when it was always in my hands, it would last about 12-14 hours.
Go into the app manager and disable the bloatware that you don't use.
Why dont more people embrace the fact that these phones have removable batteries and are like 10$ with charger on ebay. Seriously its not an iphone you arent helpless. I have three extra batteries for this phone, still think it has amazing battery life compared to my old phone
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I agree, this phone gets terrific battery life. I'm getting 5-6 hours of LTE screen on time. Try disabling some of the bloat apps and turn down your screen brightness. If you primarily use apps with white backgrounds, use the inverted colors widget. AMOLED screens consume no energy when displaying black, but consume 3x as much as a LCD when displaying white.

i'm not trying to be sarcastic here but that's just ridiculous.
again, i'm hoping due to the fact that this phone is release through all carriers, their will be some company out there that will make a perfect size extended battery. sort of like what samsung did with Gnex 1850 to 2100 with cover. about 10-20% increase would make this phone perfect.
if not, then i'l just return it. wait for the unlocked version of this verizon phone, so at least I have Roms/kernel that could improve batt life. just like what happened with GNEX.

might sound ridiculous to you, but i wanted the fastest phone i could get (i do A LOT on my phone) and this is the fastest phone on Verizon (unlimited LTE Data plan). IF the best battery life out of the box was top on my list i could have easily went with the Razr MAXX.
i bought the phone knowing i would be wanting more battery life. but i can upgrade the battery. you cant really upgrade the Razr MAXX CPU/RAM...
i agree with you, and hope for a "medium sized" extended battery comes out. i would think it would be the best of both worlds.
I kind of see what you are saying, but it's definitely not a big deal to carry around another battery. I used to fly a ton and had the HD2 coupled with 3 extra batteries, and it was no big deal. I love this phone, and I get at least a day and a half out of it without issue.
Try some of the battery management techniques mentioned above. Personally I think Sammy did quite a nice job of balancing size, power, and battery life.
Yeah are you seriously making fun of carrying around tiny batteries when you want to buy a $600 dollar phone and put an ugly huge extended battery on it? I had 9 batteries for my mytouch 4g. Never had to charge it. Left.
Batteries in my backpack and car etc.
Seriously take the plunge and give up caring about battery life and charging

Yes. If you want a nearly full featured computer in your pocket with a screen to match, and a blazing fast network, that is the price you pay. It lasts as long as my Droid X, with specs that are tenfold better. I just bought a pair of nfc enabled batteries and a charger for about $20. Not really cumbersome, or difficult to deal with.
I guess I could have gotten some slow, 3g phone for a few dollars less, and had the batteries last two hours longer...
