[Q]HTC Sync Manager errors out. - HTC One X

I did a search for this but unfortunately came up with nothing. I just picked up my HTC One X yesterday and today found out about HTC Sync Manager. I wanted to give it a try so I downloaded it. After everything had finished installing and I launch the program, an error comes up that says:
"HTCSyncManager.exe has stopped working"
I've tried uninstalling and re-downloading the software, but that didn't work. I tried uninstalling, rebooting, then re-downloading and re-installing, but that didn't work either.
Has anybody else experienced this problem? I searched the HTC site as well and there wasn't much help there either.

same here
Just downloaded the Sync manager myself and had the exact same problem running in win7. I might try installing it in XP compatible mode see it that makes a difference (it probably won't but might be worth a try). HTC are having one disappointment after the other with their One series.

I've had no issues with my phone at all - same with the majority of users. You only ever read of issues but never of successes...

Let me know your results of running it in compatibility mode please. I suppose I'll send an e-mail to HTC and see if they have any answers.

Experiencing same problem
Hi, me too have the very same problem.
Win 7, same error message. Compatibility mode/ Reinstall DOES NOT help!
I've sent visual studio debug trace with detailed info to HTC.
Technical Support Agent replied that they will investigate the issue.
I haven't spotted new HTCSyncManager(1.0.34.4169) version since then (2012-06-05).

Hi,
You may have heard this problem many times, I tried to upgrade my ROM and it failed a few seconds in because for some insane reason the phone rebooted during the upgrade, It now says USB on the top and v1.00, Tried hard reset but does not work, I have also tried to reflash the rom but I am using MS vista that uses an alternative to Activesync, so the upgrade says 202 connection error, Please can anyone help me!!!!

you need to downgrade your drivers... there's a way of doing it, but I've never done it myself, so you'll need to find someone else who has.

Activesync wont install on Vista, which to be honest would probably work fine it is stupid M$ prohibiting it to install,
The computer will detect the phone, it says Microsoft USB Sync, does it need to be a ceartain driver for this to work?
Really need help on this! Computer recognises PDA says Microsoft USB Sync, What is the correct driver, the updater is not recognising the phone
Please anyone if you have even a small idea please post it!!! PLEASE!

Yeah, sorry it took a while, for some reason this thread only popped up as new today???? strange...
For your problems... uninstall ActiveSync... reduntant in Vista, there the new WMDC (I take it you realise this?). After uninstall, connect your device and it will install WMDC with the appropriate updates, then you have to check this thread here....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291723.
That thread may be dated and there may be a newer one, but there were many people using it successfully and I was one of them until I downgraded again to XP. Hope it helps.
BTW, Vista sucks A$$, it's just not ready for driver and program release, and if you get an independant memory and CPU monitor, it'll show you that the built in one lies through it's teath!!! But hey, each to it's own. Regards.
plz tell me dear how we connect in a dead stage
Other option would be to flash the ROM using a machine with XP, wich I find more easy than in vista
Hope it helps,
When I tried it in Vista I had a similar problem, I tried it on an XP machine no problems, am using Win7 now but dont know if upgrading the ROM will work yet, a bit risky.

[Q] Can't connect Desire via USB

Hey guys,
I've got a problem connecting my phone to the PC.
I am using Windows 7 64bit and HTC Sync is installed and should work properly.
The problem is that every time I try to connect the phone a tray notification pops up telling me :"Device driver software was not successfully installed.". The device does NOT show up as a removable hdd and is not listed in the device manager.
I really need to backup my data so I can send my phone back because it seems to have a software problem. It randomly tells me that my SIM Card isn't inserted and to solve the problem I have to open the phone, remove SIM and put it back in, sometimes even twice. Need ya help guys. Thanks
Noone who could help me with that?
I need to send it away tomorrow, so there isn't much time left. HELP
Thx

Have you tried un-installing HTC Sync 2.0.33 and re-installing? That is the first thing to do. When you've un-installed re-start your computer before re-installing.
If that doesn't work perhaps try HTC Sync 3? It's floating around on the forums and it's only a matter of days until the official release for the Desire is out.
I've just tried reinstalling HTC Sync 2.0.33 but didn't uninstall it first, so that's what I'm going to try now. If that doesn't work I'll try HTC Sync 3.0.

LATEST Windows 7 x64 drivers... Anyone?

Hi,
I've been having a few BSODs on my Windows 7 x64 machine and I pinpointed the problem to my One X when I have it plugged to the computer. It happens every time I hibernate the computer with the phone plugged in. It doesn't BSOD on me when I unplug it before hibernating.
This is probably a drivers issue... Does anyone have the latest version to see if it fixes the problem? Or maybe installers for different versions so I can test for one that works? That would be great...
I know I can get the latest drivers from HTC Sync Manager but I was wondering if anyone have the installer for the drivers only...

Try this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2089508
I have the same problem with the latest drivers.

Try the one attached, it works great for me on Win 7 and 8
anyway A Blue Screen of Death is usually hardware OR driver related. Most BSODs show a STOP code that can be used to help figure out the root cause of the Blue Screen of Death.
So you need to keep in mind that the problem might be caused by a hardware failure or another driver affecting the HTC driver

HTC USB Drivers

I'm trying to restore my HTC to stock and flash the stock recovery, but my device isn't found via fastboot anymore. It worked fine for a long time until suddenly stopping (might be a Windows 10 thing). I checked my PC's device manager, and it is showing an error next to the HTC 10 under ADB Interface. I tried to use "search the internet for drivers" which comes back with nothing. I also tried installing HTC's Sync Manager, but it won't install the USB/fastboot drivers for the 10. Fastboot works fine for my S7 Edge, and Nexus 6P, so it must be an issue with the lack of drivers (showing none in the device manager) for my HTC 10. If someone has them, or a link to them that would be great!
Update: someone PM'D me to drivers which fixed the issue. Credit is given in post #4 thank you to everyone that helped. I will uplaod the drivers if anyone wants them
Update adb in sdk manager. I had trouble but htc manager installed all the drivers for me

I tried that to no avail :/ thank you for the suggestion
HTC Manager installs an older version of ADB in its app directory structure. Rename the adb.exe there to adb.old and see if that works for you.

@alobear gave me a link to the drivers which fixed it. I tried uninstalling HTC sync manager and reinstalling the Android SDK which didn't work. The drivers I was given however do work!
I can upload then to my Google Drive or AFH if anyone wants them
Haha good to know they worked man. ?

I was able to flash a stock recover (not the T-Mobile one), change my CID and relock the BL with S-ON in preparation for sending it back while I wait on a replacement.

What drivers are these? I'm running Windows 10 as well and if I can avoid HTC Sync then I'm definitely interested.

Just remember to open your device manager (on a PC), find your HTC 10, then update the drivers with these ones that worked for me:

Some things will never change lol. I've used HTC devices since the Hero came out... And those are just the Android ones. Ironically the WM devices never really gave me much trouble.

I've always had drivers issues with non Nexus phones for some reason. HTC, Moto, Samsung, LG etc all gave me issues at some point. Drivers are key to have around jsut in case. Im running the W10 insider builds which are a nightmare to opt out of (I can't even with a clean install and new account, Microsoft might replace my Surface becusse they can't figured out the issue either). Anyway I'm glad everything worked out for you via the drives.

Yeah I'm on the Insider Preview too on the fast ring. So far I haven't had any major issues but if anything would give me issues it would by HTC Sync.

It ran fine for a long time before I started to have issues, then things went south fast. HTC sync reminds me of Kies from Samsung in a lot of ways (none of them are good).

Issue while using RUU

Hey guys,
I've downloaded RUU .exe from htc official website (tried also from someone's linke from here). As from my previous expierience with HTC Wildfire (the oldest one) i've just runed it as administrator and hoped everythink will work fine. Well nope. It loads, asks me to confirm the license agreement and then nothing happens. Any suggestions? Tried it on Windows XP VDI -same issue.
Right now I am running Windows 10 64-bit machine, and have fastboot and adb installed. HTC Sync Manager also installed (tried it both ways -with HTC Sync running in the background and without it but same result).
And tried it both ways with my M8 and without it plugged. In device manager i can see it as HTCDevice (sth like that).
Any thoughts?
Thanks guys, I am new here but really appreciate XDA community from the past. Thank you for all roms and helps you are the best!

Well yeah after installing this pack everything worked smooth! Have not thought about it as installation wizzards always offers to install missing components. Thank you it looks like your searching skills are far more superior then mine

You're quite welcome. I only knew from reading this issue previously (and its cropped up a few times in the past), and knew what the search for. Otherwise, it probably would have been pretty obscure to find.
