hi
I was wondering if there is a page where we can see a change log of what was modified in each cm7 nightly.
The dev thread is so big and has thousands of post.
Would be much easier to see the new changes of every release in a list
cheers
What is a nightly?
something like a changelog does exist on the GitHub Site to the pjojekt...
A nightly is automatically build every night... so it has all new code which was commited by the developers that day.
Scenario:
Dev A adds feature 1 and changes something in feature 2.
Dev B adds feature 3 and changes something what Dev A does wrong in feature 2 change.
over night the nightly 0815 has been build...
next day the comunity awakes and wants to help the developpers by testing the code... this tests can take some days... but our Devs. are realy motivated and have no time to wait... so they do some more fixes the other days...
now we have nightly 0830... and the community has found new issues on feature 2 from nightly 0815 and it has been shown, that the old code was better ... so back to the original feature 2 - code from before nightly 0815.
-------------------------
Ok,... I think now it should be clear why it makes no sence to write a bugfix-list for nightly builds... they are nothing but test-code most code is replaced after some time ... after much testing of the nightly someone can take that feature and add it to the next stable. Now it is something we could write down on a bugfix-list or something alike.
Ok i understand now.
thank you for your time.
I'm new to cm i just flashed RC1 and the last 2 nightlies but followed the project from the begining.
Hope that CM7 soon will be rock solid
Guys, I want to update to a new ROM and I need some suggestions..
I want a stable ROM with a lot of themes and customization as well as good battery life.
I have FoxHound which is based on LiquidSmooth..
What do you recommended guys?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
cm9, theme manager/themes support is merged, i believe cm9 themes will start to show up everywhere
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201
I think Liquid Smooth and Foxhound have A LOT more features than CM9...and there's a decent amount of themes for them...although not as much as CM9. I used Liquid Smooth as my main ROM and had very good battery life, completely satisfied.
It won't be long romanbb tweeted there may be build 35 with theme manager..
The best of both..aokp with theme manager
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I'm also excited for theme manager integration in AOKP.
OP, AOKP is built on CM9, with more features/options.
AOKP 35 is out guys.
I've been running it since last night =]
You just have to find the link on Goo.
I think roman fell asleep with the build bot running or something, lol.
Edit:
And Roman has stated that AOKP is NOT CM9 based.
He actually gets offended when people say that =/.
They do some cherry picks. But the base is their own.

Thanks for the heads up, I try to stick to milestones though. Are you insinuating that B35 includes theme chooser?
I always see it stated that AOKP is based on CM9.. I wonder how that misconception got started? I did know that they cherry pick features from a bunch of diff ROM/mods. Thanks for clearing that up.
EDIT:
Heres the changelog for anybody else wondering whats new in B35..
removed Facebook sync (this had to happen. it was a hack and breaking Picasa sync. FB needs to fix this, not ROMs)
Added ability to hide sender and/or message body in notification'
Added dock battery display for tablets
Added Browser tab settings (max tab limit/whether to restore tabs on browser restart)
Added CM9 T-Mobile theme manager
Added Sense 4 style Task switcher (you have the option of choosing from stock/web os/sense 4 now)
Added ability to play boot sound (disabled by default)
increased default nav bar glow speeds for better user experience out of the box
tons of device specific updates and fixes. check here to see all of the latest code we've merged
updated p5/p5wifi device trees from GalaxianSoup.
added toroplus (data will not work after flashing, just flash ANY other kernel after flashing b35. we're working on it
Goo Manager won't be able to detect an upgrade this build

Not too happy about removing fb sync, yeah it is a hack but I could give a **** less about Picasa. Just my opinion.

"remicks and I have surely been busy over the past few months, as we had put a LOT of work into AOKPCB and then our personal lives ended up needing some attention (damn real life). Just thought I should say that yes, we stopped AOKPCB for ICS since JB was on the way, and when Goo.IM went down, it took all of the AOKPCB ROMs we built with it That was the only spot we had been hosting them unfortunately…
If all goes well though, we are planning on releasing AOKPCB for JB, however as AOKP JB is quite young (we base our source from theirs), we’re going to wait a little bit until more devices are added, and things get stable. Our team is a fraction of the size of Team Kang, so it’d be much tougher for us to manage an early ROM at this point.
It’s in the cards though, so as soon as it can be done, IT WILL BE!!!!
So glad that it seemed to be a success, Team Broccoli wants to thank everyone, especially the users, for your support and bigups.
Don’t forget to keep checking back, or subscribe to our RSS feed above!
Thanks or being patient everyone!"

Hey ALL,
I apologize for not keeping everyone informed. As it stands now, the plan is to get a final R3 (ICS) release out, however our repo is currently borked (I know, just before the last ICS release!). We're trying to get it fixed up (remicks is really, he's great with our builds), but hopefully that will happen soon. Afterwards, it's kind of up in the air for what we're going to do with JB. remicks and I have started working on Project FNV, which is a different type of ROM, being built by the community, however there is still a chance that we will make AOKPCB(ean) the way we like it, and keep Project FNV true to it's goal of being a community ROM.
It's obviously a LOT of work to maintain two ROMs, including websites, social media efforts, etc., but we're doing our best. We really love giving back to the community in this way, and it is more than amazing to hear good feedback. At the very least, when Theme Chooser arrives on Jelly Bean ROMs, you'll be able to use my PCB Themes as I will port them over ASAP. Again, I would love to keep AOKPCB going, however the team still has to discuss this past our plans for an R3 ICS release.
Hope that kind of clears the air a bit, and please don't consider this to be a "we're quitting" message. Life is crazy for many people, and lately things are no different for most of our team. We hope you'll understand, and keep watching this thread, the PCB Mini-site, and its RSS feed for future updates!

OK all, teeny tiny post to let you know that we just dropped R2 on the scene. I am out of steam completely as it has been a lot of work for us over the past few days. We'll be in touch, but new nightlies may not appear for the next few days (not much will change, as R2 has a slew of goodies for your enjoyment!)
Cheers, and please spread the word + let us know your experience with R2!

OFFICIAL R2:
"Today we bring you our second Official Release! This has been about a month in the making and includes all of the changes from our Nightlies. You’ll also notice that there are MANY more devices that we now build AOKPCB for. Please continue to give us feedback as we are building these ‘blind’ (we don’t have the actual devices), so tester feedback really helps.
Note that you should perform a full-wipe, as there have been some core changes. You could try a dirty-flash, but we wouldn’t recommend it for R2.
The changelog below contains everything that has been added to R2 of AOKPCB, and as it stands, R2 is based from AOKP Build 37 (+ newer commits).
Thanks to testers and everyone who gave feedback!"

WOW.I have seen while ago this ROM for Google Nexus and this is are great news about that its it ported to Galaxy S. I'm also excited because I am an electronic engineer . I will tested it few days and give a feedback.
What kernel is included? Official AOKP comes with Glitch ics kernel? I don't see any mentions about Glitch/Sixstring on the credits.
The theme is nice.

think that makes it clear.
i think the kernel is the one which gets built if you build AOKP, cause AOKPCB is built from source.
another thing i want to make clear: i am NOT the maker of this rom! questions are best asked in the original thread to the original makers, but i will try to answer as many of them as possible, hope you understand...

Greatly themed rom. Btw, I think roman have asked all unofficial rom devs to not add new features in their rom that are going to be added in next builds and are already in source. Hope u can do something about it just in respect to roman.

i'm not such an expert, but how should a rom-maker do this if he builds from source? sync the source, check a list what is new in it and delete it? not build from latest source? or are all rom-makers doomed to do their roms with 7zip from the latest released official build by exchanging files?
don't get me wrong, i'm just interested, how what roman probably said, could be followed in real life.
anyway, thx for your suggestion and i will report it to the makers if i have time, because (AGAIN) i am not the maker, i made this thread to spread their work and have it it present in our sgs-forum, too, and to quote myself:

Wow thanks for porting this, love the theme! I'm too lazy to wipe data right now though, so restored from nandroid, coming from Infinitum LBR 1.0 broke a few things
Will probably flash latest nightly this weekend or whenever I have the time.

AOKP ICS for Maguro had a mod built in which allowed you to move up/down your music playlist using the vol up/down when the screen was off.
The new JB AOKP does not have this feature (yet?).
Anyone know of a JB mod to do this or a JB ROM that currently has this feature?
For GSM GNex.
Thanks!
Edit: There is an OLD app called "Just Shake" which barely and rarely works. I have tried that but it's really no good.
Since it was only merged on sept 3rd https://github.com/AOKP/frameworks_base/commit/695ad83a122518bdfa76b9dc7f3f6f24c7c9a513 it didn't make it to build 1. WORK IN PROGRESS!! FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
Hey guys,
Decided to try my hand at porting tonight using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008
I HIIIGHLY recommend it if your thinking about, or looking to start porting.
For a while I wanted to port something that was unique to our forums. Since we have some amazing AOKP builds thanks to Haze028: http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4153704, and some nice AOSP and stock JB from Houstonn: http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4852479, I decided I wanted to see if I could bring something unique to the forum. I was thinking something like Paranoid, or maybe RootBox, but then I found CarbonRom. So I present to you my first, and I do mean FIRST!!! (and hopefully not last) successful attempt and almost kind of doing some sort of dev work.... maybe, lol.
Anyway its been booted and running smooth so far. Its actually surprisingly smooth, I think maybe even smoother than aokp or aosp. But it could be just me being excited I didn't brick my phone, haha.
Features:
Android 4.2.2
PIE
Xposed Framework (May cause stability or performance issues - use at your own risk!)
Comprehensive speed enhancements, including Linaro -O3 and processor-specific optimizations
Unofficial Voodoo Sound support on Note 2 and i9300 devices.
Option to hide lockscreen hints
Carousel lockscreen
Customizable lockscreen buttons and sliders
Chronus clock widget
Customizable hardware and software keys
Transparent navbar and status bar
Customizable navbar ring
Navbar arrow keys
Navigation bar widgets
Customizable power menu
Notification power widget
Notification brightness adjustment
Customizable quicksettings panel
Statusbar mods including center clock and color
LCD Density
Theme engine
Quiet hours
Volume rocker music controls
Full Rotation
Customizable battery and notification light
More that haven't even been mentioned, and more to come!
Not Working / Issues:
*Doesnt seem to be rooted properly. It comes with SuperSU installed, but I was having trouble updating the binaries. So I installed superuser and root checker, but root checker says im not properly rooted. And I cant get busybox to install.
*CPU shows it wont go lower then 1026 in performance menu, but it does go all the way down to 384. If you try to adjust it, the performance menu will freeze up on you. I think there is something wrong with the permissions. Part of the port instructions were to swap perm files, but the nexus and OG are so similar, I think I can get away with leaving them as is. That will be V2, lol.
*No NFC, not that anyone was expecting it to work (I hope). It kept fc'n on me when I first booted it so I had to take out the nfc apk's.
Anything else, please let me know.*
I haven't tested this with my sim card yet, so im not too sure about calling and texting. But wifi and bluetooth work, so I anticipate that they will work. I used chadouming's CM10 as a base (thank him here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1986924), so most things are pretty solid. Im going to have to look into what the issue with root might be. Again this is a work in progress, so it can only get better from here.
And please bare in mind that this really is my first go at something like this, so be kind, lol. If anyone smarter that me, and I know your out there, wants to take what ive made and run with it to make it better, and maybe start another thread with a more stable build, go crazy.
Its hosted on my dropbox, so depending on how quick you guys click, if at all, the link may go down quick. If anyone who gets a download is able to post or host a mirror Id appreciate it.

"CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. The team is composed of former members of Team Liquid who have forked the code in an attempt to bring greater speed, better coding, and full authorship to code. We are in no way affiliated with Liquid0624. The rom was forked at Liquid beta 3.2.1 and has since undergone major code changes and modifications. Looks great. I noticed in one of the images the onscreen navigation buttons. On your build do the capacitive keys light up and the on screen buttons no longer visible?
Thanks. Look forward to flashing this.

Re: [ROM][PORT] ---------> CarbonRom: A Nexus 4 port!
Yap cap keys work. You can set the nav bar height to "0" and it will turn off.

Are you compiling the rom from source ?
Thanks for the effort, would be nice to see some ROM's showing up! Even if they're ports.

Nope. I followed the guide found in the op. And used your cm10 as a base.
ROM also suffers from sod's if your connected to WiFi and you leave the network while two phone is asleep. If you turn off WiFi first you will be fine. Same bug as in houstonns aokp build he posted in Haze's thread.

ATRIXX I think Im going to give your rom a shot. I'm currently on houstonns 4.1.2 JB rom on my E973 and I was wondering if I need to downgrade via .kdz to E97310F in order to install your rom? Or can I just follow install instructions from the state that I'm at now? Also what Gapps package do your recommend?
Cheers
Re: UPDATE!! [ROM][PORT] ---------> CarbonRom V2: A Nexus 4 port!
Ya your going to have to downgrade and re-root. I'm not 100% what firmware version you need to downgrade too. In my case I have an e971, and I had to downgrade from "E" to "D" firmware in order to flash anything aosp. If the e973's "F" firmware is equivalent to the e971's "D" firmware, than that's what you need to be on when you root.
As far as gapps, I'm just using the latest ones from goo. I believe 20130301.

If your on telus, your gonna want to go to E. If your on bell, f is the one.
flashed it this morning and it has been stable (no reboots) for the past few hours with working phone/sms/camera/gps/mobile hotspot. I used houstonn's gapps package and the messaging app wouldn't open/work so I tried it with chadourning's version and that fixed that issue. I might give houstonn's new aokp build a try sometime today as well but this rom looks promising :good:
[Edit] experienced sod issues when receiving text.
Mirrors for everybody!
I have A LOT of bandwidth to spare, OP I highly recommend you add this to your original post before your Dropbox maxes out.
