Hi, my GSM Galaxy Nexus froze overnight, did a battery pull, got an "Encryption Unsuccessful" message, did the Factory Reset, and has been getting stuck during the boot. More info: Was running stock 4.04.
Can anyone please help with this? I'm new at flashing this sort of stuff.
Much thanks.

Hey people,
A friend of mine is getting a white screen on his Galaxy Y, can't do anything with it. Even a hard reset (as found on the internet) doesn't work. (Hard reset being holding volume up, center button and power button).
Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Thats NOT a hard reset! Pull the battery, and insert it again. Now do your "hard reset". As in, holding volume up+home+power key together until you see the Samsung logo. Do a data wipe and restart. If that doesnt work, search for flashable firmware packages in the Development section. If that doesn't work either, replace your phone.
Hey guys,
Thank you both for your replies.

Stating what happened: He just suddenly had a white screen, unable to do anything with the phone. Rebooting, pulling the battery etc. didn't do anything.
Your second option didn't work either unfortunatly.

Sorry about that, I just read in about this phone, since it's not mine, and I already forgot about the second part.
Unfortunately, neither of this works. Every boot method gets him a white screen. Since he rooted his phone about a week ago, looks like he's going to need a new one.

try flashing the ROM using Odin from the PC
Might Odin be the same as Samsung Kies in dutch? Or is this an external program?
Assuming it's this program: http://odin-win.sourceforge.net/
Now how does this work? I've been flashing my phone for quite a while now, but I'm not familiar with this program. Can I just download a ROM (stock) from the developers part here?

its a tool for windows which lets you flash firmwares. You need to connect your phone to your pc is download mode.
Search Google and you will get lots of tutorials explaining the process.

Okay thanks for all your help guys.
My friend tried everything you people suggested, but nothing worked. He just had an expert look at it and it's just totally bricked. Gotta buy a new one. Thanks for trying anyway!
Sorry for bringing this up again, but I kinda feel sorry when people brick their devices. Yours doesnt have to be a brick. Read this. The instructions are on the first page. There's a link to Odin too. Hope for the best!

xda community is a place where expert people can surely help "noobies" ( not expert ) but you must PROVIDE more information, it's stupid and nosense write topic with only, i'm stuck here, help help me , it's like say "hey man, can you help me? ", other one:"what's your problem?" you: i don't know
You must be more specifical and objective
what's sense of "stuck" in fast boot mode, if your nexus "stuck" in fastboot can be badly driver ( personal experience ) , or remove battery and re-insert will fix it

Thank you for saying it. It can not be stressed enough how often questions like this show up in forums.
Tip to OP: provide details. What have you tried so far? Stuck as in it's non-responsive, or you don't know how to navigate your way back to a normal boot up?
I was so tensed when volume rocker and power key was not working! I was not knowing what to do! If I pull the battery,I thought will something happen to my phone! That's why I put a thread like this!

Hi,
As a fairly new Android user, I think I managed to brick my Nexus 7. I'm not entirely sure what it is that broke it (probably my stupidity). After I interrupted the process (I was supposed to flash the radio, but had accidentally pasted the wrong filename...possibly flash-all.she or flash-base.sh), I tried to execute "fastboot reboot-bootloader", which failed before fastboot crashed. From then onward, the device didn't react when I tapped the power button. I had to do a hard reset in order for the phone to do something...but now I realise it might not have been the best idea. It is currently stuck in APX mode.
I have tried holding the power button for over 15 seconds, and holding power+down for over 15 seconds, but to no avail. Is there anything that I can do to fix this issue?
Thank you in advance for any help. I apologize if this is already covered in a different thread.

Thanks! I didn't realise which forum I was in.
I was running CM 10.1 with CWM. I switched CWM to TWRP successfully, then tried to flash the NX-Kernel, since AK simply wouldn't overwrite the CM kernel, no matter how many times I tried. Now the phone does nothing, no lights, no power, no sound. Is there a way to reverse this or am I totally done for?

First of all, I don't think this post should belong in Android Dev. You should try searching other threads for a solution or post somewhere else.
That being said, are you able to boot up the phone to download mode at all? or recovery? (holding volume down-home-lock for download, and volume up-home-lock for recovery?)

Sorry about that, I'm rather new to xda. The phone won't boot normally, into download, or recovery. Plugging it in to the wall/computer does nothing either, and the computer doesn't register it being connected either.

Sounds good, thank you!
Your only option may be to JTAG, it doesn't sound salvageable to me.
