Or can somebody just link me the stock radio?
Thanks!
Unless manually done or upgrading to the next rom. The radio is never touched.

Dont worry about radio . I used same radio for gb ics and aokp .

I think that you have to flash the original radio back, not sure though

Half False. If you use the Odin method then everything goes back to stock. Including the radio.

Hello, I'm currently on custom firmware Juggernaut v5.0. I was wondering how I am able to update to ICS and then to DARKSIDE.EVOLUTION.3 [v8]. Do I use super wipe first and use the over the air update from t-mobile? Or how would I do this?
Just super wipe and then flash Darkside. You need an ICS radio too.

May I ask what an ICS radio is? and what it does?
The short answer is that GB radios won't work on ICS ROMs.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
The ics radios have modified libs. If you use a gb radio u won't have service.
Edit: rils

Thank you very much guys!
One more question!
Just to to make sure, I can just use the super wipe and install the darkside custom rom right? I don't have to update to official ICS first?
Correct.

Just peaked into my about settings and noticed it said that my baseband was unknown, is this an issue and if so how do I fix it?

Does your data work? If it bothers you that much, trying reflashing your radio.

If it said unknown it might be becuz the radio might be baked into the ROM... .. Go to ROM thread and ask there.... If you flash a radio it should read it after flash... its no biggie...

You need to use Dark side Super wipe. It's in the development section.
Go into recovery flash the zip then flash your room again. Should solve your problem.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda premium
Yup even used the dark side wipe...or do you mean Jamison's super wipe?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda premium
You can try Jamisons. It may help

This is the first time I've seen something like this on the t989. No idea what to to tell you except that it must be touchwiz related, since PAC ROM didn't display the same issue.

This has been reported on quite a bit. Odin flashing back to ICS will fix the issue but any Jelly Bean flash thereafter with a rom based on stock 4.1.2 will bring back the black type. My work around was to flash back to stock ICS and then load CyanogenMod 10.0. What is odd is that some phones will take odin upgrade from ICS and even from GB to the new stock JB with no problem. Haven't figured out why though. I'm thinking there is something in the new kernal included in the UVMC6 rom.

I have to dig around for the app but I know I saved it just in case...
Actrully found it I used a app called framaroot.

Interesting. It's worth a shot OP. Worst case, it fails and you uninstall. If it is successful, you can install mobile odin, then get the latest gb27 tar, and money. While you're at it, you will have to flash a cwm custom jb kernel, since you're on ics, and, MO won't flash modems, you'll need a jb modem to use data on gb27. Download the zip though of the modem . Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Hopefully it works for you. I don't see why it wouldn't. Might be more complicated but it worked for me. but of course YMMV. Just follow what jdsingle76 said you you'll be good to go.
