[Q] Samsung Fade Animations? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If theres one thing I like about Samsung's phones is the Fading off/on animations of their phones, like on galaxy tabs, etc. The Evo has this fading animation, but only when you turn on the screen and not when you turn it off.... Is there a way I could get/make/port etc... the fading off lock animations from a galaxy rom?

[Q] Winmo 6.5 Lockscreen Question

Is there a way to make winmo6.5 default lock screen close the screen if it hasn't been touch for X seconds?
Like s2u2, if you touch anywhere but the slider, the screen will turn off.

[Q] Any ROM's that remove screen dimming in browser?

Good evening (or rather, early early morning),
I have recently purchased a Galaxy Nexus and love it, except for one thing. When using the browser, or other apps with mostly white UI's, the screen dims by about 10-15%. I have auto brightness turned off, and the backlight set to about 80% (I like a pretty bright screen). When the browser launches, it is immediately dimmed. You can see the difference when using something like the search box on google.com. When the keyboard comes up, the screen returns to the proper brightness.
From reading threads on here and other forums, I know on phones like the Galaxy S3 have brightness controls in specific apps, like the browsers. For whatever reason, this isnt included in stock Android. I've seen other threads indicating this might be a feature that could be included in a custom ROM. Sooooo.... here's the TL;DR question:
Are there any custom ROMs currently out for the Nexus that have the option to disable this screen dimming?
Thanks!
UB
PS - this is with Chrome, stock browser, Facebook, etc. Its not an issue with just one app.
It's a "feature" of Galaxy Nexus, and it happens on all roms . When you view a page mostly white brightness drops slightly, maybe to save battery
Trinity kernel has a setting called "Content Adaptive Brightness" that can be disabled.
good day.

Capacitive button Lights Issue they come on anytime I touch the screen bugged?

Okay, this is really starting to annoy me to hell, On the GT-n7100 only when you'd touch the button area they would light up but the t-mobile version is lighting up no matter what, if I scroll a webpage, move the phone screen to different set of icons it's driving me insane is it bugged? Or the phone like defective?
It should only light up when I tap the capacitive buttons yet any action I take it keeps lighting it up like scrolling a webpage or through the phones apps even. And both phones are set to 1.5 second duration however the T- Mobile version no matter what I touch on the screen lights keep coming on, while N7100 only when I press the capacitive button area. +
Any thoughts?
Completely disagree.
They should come on before you need them - so you can see wth you are trying to press...

galaxy s3 is this way as well. i think its a samsung thing
I would actually like them to stay on the whole time the screen is on. I feel like they time out much to fast.
You can change settings in display settings.

Hm. Good call.
Im well aware of the light key duration thats not the issue. There are no other display settings to control the light keys that I see.
On the n7100 the capacitive buttons would not come on everysingle time I would scroll down on a webpage pull down the notification menu or touch the screen, there is no setting for to get rid of this. The behavior of the buttons is not the same.
The capacitive lights come on everytime you do anything.
Is there away to make it behave like the n7100?

[Q] My t989 screen has darkened a bit - what can I do?

I have a Galaxy S2 T989 that I have rooted and have been trying different roms. Yesterday I reflashed it back to T-mobile 4.1.2 and after I changed my battery and rebooted it got hung up. I did a hard restart and the screen display darkened a few shades. Now my display is not as bright as it used to be. Brightness is up as high as possible, auto brightness is off, and auto tone is off. What happened? What can I do?

[Q] Problem when turning display off

After I install almost any rom, the screen no longer turns off normally. Theres always a little flash before the display shuts off. At first I thought it was linked to the crt animation, however even when I disable crt and disable the animations from the developers settings, the flash always stays. I believe there was a rom that i installed that didnt have this problem, and im pretty sure that one didnt have a crt animation setting. But I can't really find that rom or any rom without crt animation anymore to test with.
Theres a link to a video where I try to show this. Its hard to actually capture since its all very fast, and Im not too good with cameras. But you could still see it.
The first time is turning it on and off with the default rom that came with the phone -- Display turns off normally, no flash before turning off.
The second is with CM10.2 right after installation -- There is a flash before the screen shuts off, but its hard to see with the crt animation.
The third is also with CM10.2 with crt and animations off -- There is still a flash before the screen turns off (seen best in the 2nd to last instance)
The flash mostly comes from the upper right corner area if that helps.
Its hard to see on video because of the changing in lighting from turning the phone on and off, but its very noticable in person.
How can i fix this, or is this a condition on all phones?
Edit: You can see it a lot better in this video after i turned it off and on with a black background
