hi everyone, I think I found out how to see what manufacturing date you have. I found it in the HTC One S thread. You have to take a look at the Serial Number on your box, starting with S/N. The first four digits are the relevant ones. I have a HT23TTV00312. Like I said, the first four digits. In my case: HT23.
The number 3 means that it's the third month of the year, meaning March. I got this phone replaced for my old One V, that one had:HT24, meaning April. I regret that I sent my April One V back because the March version is even worse, gonna send this one back as well.
People over at the One S thread say this method of seeing the manufacturing date is 90% correct. So can you guys verify this? Do any of you have: HT25, meaning the month may?, I wonder if the may phones have problems like yellow spots.
Thanks!
I'm not sure bout my actual manufacture date but mine is HT23, not much problem except the rubber area gets extremely dark in colour after some use....
I've got HT23 and there is dust under my display and the headphone sound is terrible.
This would mean I already have the march version so it can't get much worse when I'll send it back
absolutely correct it is
my sn is SH25
which means may
and its correct my production is of may as it's already written on. our indian boxes thanks for sharing +

I have HT24 which is April and I have problems with the following:
-Speaker (I hear a *poc* sound now and then when in a call).
- Too spots of yellow color in the lower part of the screen
- Light leak from the buttons
- Incorrect placement of the back cover of the camera.
Tomorrow I will get my replacement hopefully it will be one made in may.

Well, I thought that it was march, but it was April. And I've replaced my phone with one from May and I have no problems (it is also imported from Asia). The only problem remaining now is that I cannot use one specific carrier because it is locked. I can use only Vodafone and Cosmote and I need Orange carrier!

The two first letters indicate what factory the phone has been made in. It's either HT or SH for production units, or MB for repair centre swap units.
First: HT24 - yellow spots
Second: HT23 - yellow spots
Third: (guy in service center give me to choice from 4 pieces of them) SH25 - no problems.
HT mean manufacture in Taiwan, SH manufacture in China.
My is HT25, except some really small light leak from the buttons I don't have any problems with it.

Howdy guys, just bought my One V to replace my desire.
Mine was bought in Calgary, Canada serial SH26 (June manufacture).
Had it since Monday morning, playing with it loooots, no problems so far. I even dropped it on the ice showing one of my speedskaters a burst shot of her corners, no damage!

Hi guys. As HOX is facing bugs and issues, I searched a lot about it and I recently came to know that Taiwan manufactured model is performing better as compared to those manufactured in china. Still Confused with it

same as that.
Same here Taiwan.. zero build defects, non to mild software issues (not related to the manufacturing)
mine is from Taiwan as well, it is functioning just fine. I have had no problems yet, and I dont expect to have anything hardware related. Just software if anything.
I ordered 2 white One X's. Both are made in Taiwan. One got resizing screen issue and was sending back for replacement. Another one isn't has any issues(yet).

So it's clear that build quality of taiwan product is better. Guys please keep this in mind before buying. I am a bit dissapointed by HTC regarding the issues that are faced in such high end devices
i agree with you guys.
my experienced with my previous devices, htc hd2 (2 devices, taiwan and china), desire s (china), sensation (taiwan):
on hd2 the taiwan one works great but has dull screen colors, altough the china one has great screen colors, but distorted speaker on max volume, and already broke in less than a year (restarted in loop).
desire s, has a build quality defect, like backlight bleeding and there is a space between screen glass and the body. but works fine.
sensation, no problem at all.
i just wonder if there are chinise phones out there?
anyone got a chinese one?
mine is also taiwan and without, or jut with very little faults

Got mine today. Taiwan manufactured, speaker quality is terrible at high volume. I'm not particularly fussy about sound quality but this is ridiculous.

Mine is Chinese and its working flawlessly. Only software issues are a problem.
Taiwan model here, sent back due to a host of build issues.
Chinese model and no problems.

Chinese model here minor issues with screen flickering and my wifi not connecting properly to my router at 40mhz (works fine on other routers and at 20mhz on my router).
China manufactured, everything's perfect apart from 1 virtually unnoticeable dead pixel.
China's manufactured here, 100% perfect, no build problems or anything. If anything, I think it's just the software.
hello members,
I've been waiting for quite a while to get HOX....at last time has arrived for me....
But for my bad luck, HOX from SH25 batches are only available in my area(INDIA).
So, I just want your opinion on this, as it from MAY batch, i'm doubtful about its hardware issues
the question is; SHOULD I BUY HOX FROM SH25 BATCH??
IS THERE ANY HARDWARE ISSUES WITH THOSE BATCH HOX?
I have one of those and so far so good
Only problem is the wifi, and the fact I got a variant 2, but everything else is perfect

Well, they're not really different versions. Sounds more like binning to me, with the bin written to the chip.
I have the Grey SH25FW since a month now and its been running awesome ! No issues at all :fingers-crossed:
Simply loving it..
If you read bigoliver's thread there's plenty of people owning sh/ht 25 that got the wifi problem.
If possible try to get a unit from a newer batch like July. Maybe go to different stores in different cities.

Hi guys,
I just got a new HTC One X for my brother and found some interesting things. First, the phone only has 16GB on board memory (indicated on the box). Second, the phone has SN starting with SH29BW (new production batch). Third, the phone came with 4.0.4 update preinstalled.
I also notice that the build is 100% perfect, no hardware issue (Wifi works perfectly) inside out. I contacted the seller and he said HTC no longer produces 32GB version of the S720e.
I found this one is interesting and wanna share with every one

The one you have is from the package with a headset. Seller take it out and sell the phone separately.
The other type of box is a white square one. This is the stand-alone version of the phone (without the headset).
My box is black and smaller than the 2nd one. And the box indicates HTC India
PS: I am in US, Minnesota and got the phone from a Yankee seller

It's true, there is a new batch of HOX, I got mine yesterday and asked around turns out they only make 16GB of the new model.
The white... is... beautiful compared to the black!
So, I bought my phone from someone like 5 months ago, and it works fine except for two things. First the camera does not focuses on macro o close up pictures. It just doesn't, no matter what I try.
And secondly, something that started recently, the WiFi drops....even next to the router. I read somewhere here that it was a manufacturer problem. So I called HTC and they told me I am under warranty and that I should send my phone to them. Question is:
Will they give me another phone? Something I want but with the same CID (0_44 here) and, how long will they take to fix this? I know these are kinda weird questions but maybe someone is able to answer them. Thanks.

Girl said she couldn't tell me. It "depends on each case" and that's why I come here. Someone might have sent their phone for similar reasons.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
We don't know what country you are in, we don't know what service centre you're referring to, we don't know what stock they have, we don't know what backlog they might have, some of those things change with time, we don't know what other problems they might find. It depends on each case.
I'm not sure how anybody here could be more qualified than HTC repair centre to answer the question.
HTC service in Hong Kong told me typically three business days for the WiFi problem, I don't know if that includes the pick up and delivery days
The girl in the US checked my serial number which would tell her my cellphone is CID_044 right?
She didn't tell me I was gonna pay or that they couldn't fix it cuz it was not bought from USA. Is it safe for me to send it?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Well HTC__044 is an asian phone, and the international One X is not sold in the US. I've heard that they can't import new motherboards due to some patent infringement, but that may have changed now.

Well, yes, but if it requires importing a component that would go against an import ban, that would mean breaking the law, and I'm sure you can understand why they might be inclined not to do that.

Called HTC again and they can fix my Singapore Phone because I have GW, or Global Warranty and they have a "certified" GWS or Global Warranty Service Center. So, they'll charge $20 bucks and fix it for free. What do you think?

Hi,
I bought HTC One M8 last night and the first thing I noticed is the red color in the display! It is over-saturated. This problem lead to wrong skin tone in photos.
How can I fix this? I bought the phone because the screen is LCD and it should render correct colors for the end user.
Is it an original htc?
Maybe the screen is broken, or try some apps to adjust it.

Was it new from HTC or a carrier store? was it used? was it a refurbished?
Its entirely possible that it could have been repaired with an uncalibrated screen or something like that.
I bought it from a dealer like Best Buy in the USA. It is a new device.
I will pass to the dealer and double check the test model in the store.

iirc This phone, the M7 and a few of the HTC EVO line had some instances of this happening at first - and clears up after the first few days. Maybe do some searching here or Google?
I did my homework two days ago. I found users complained about the red color saturation in HTC Evo but no one mentioned the screen will be OK within couple of days. I will give it a week.
