Use the fastboot radio XXLA2 zip from xda an not cwm radio zip an do it that way.

i'm going to use the radio image that i've downloaded from official google roms
1. Download the your choice of radio for the Galaxy Nexus (GSM). 2. Place the radio image file in the same location as the SDK's platform-tools directory. 3. Power off the Galaxy Nexus. 4. Boot the Galaxy Nexus into bootloader mode by holding Volume Up, Volume Down, and the Power buttons until booted. 5. On the computer, open the terminal and navigate to the directory with the radio image and run:
fastboot flash radio radio.img
6. Reboot the device.
If that radio version doesn't work out I would suggest using cwm nextime might save you a lot of time as I know I change radios often.

Thanks !
i'll update that radio today and report back
You could probably just use terminal emulator or better terminal app on your gnex to do that command.

I just need some that can show me the thread or even website to where I can flash clockwork recovery to my gnex but with a MAC. if anyone can help that would be awesome!!
Its the exact same, but you just need the SDK installed, and all of the commands have "./" in front of them instead.
So
Code:
fastboot flash <> <>
is now:
Code:
./fastboot flash <> <>
I will try thanks

Doesn't the ROM Manager app for CWM have an option to flash Clockwork Recovery automatically? Is that not true? I haven't done it in a while, but I could've sworn that's how I did it.
I made this video on how to root the nexus s 4g on a Mac. Its the same process only thing is make sure u type in the recovery version for your galaxy nexus and nit the ns4g.

Hey XDA members.
Can anyone explain how I flash the Recovery using fastboot???
That is what is instructed to get it in.
Here is the link:
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
It has all the recoveries made by koush.
Touch & Button version.
Code:
Fastboot flash recovery name-of-recovery.img
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Install fastboot/fastboot drivers, then.
Download the recovery file you want and put it in the fastboot folder.
1. turn phone off
2. press and hold both volume up and down button then press and hold power, this will take the phone to bootloader
3. type: fastboot flash recovery recoveryfilenamehere.img
4. press the volume up or down button to select RECOVERY MODE, press power to select, and there you go, you're in cwm.

Obviously you don't know what you're doing, I suggest not screwing with your phone, we don't want another thread asking how to fix another person's phone cuz they "bricked" it.

Maaaaan I'm gonna have to do this tomorrow now. cuz no one is gonna unlock the computer.
Could I use Wug's Toolkit "Flash(permanent) Recovery" option to get it on my phone???
Just asking. Sorry if this somehow offends anyone.

You probably shouldn't be flashing recoveries if you don't know what you're doing. Learn by reading. The method for flashing recoveries hasn't changed since the Nexus One came out 2.5 years ago.

I did not make this, just passing it along. Link is to a flashable zip for 6.000alpha; it worked for me coming from previous version. Much easier then fastboot... Just move to root of your SD card and flash, no wipe necessary.

It was sooo freaking easy with that thing.
All I did was follow instructions. Yes I had to used fastboot for some things but I just followed instructions.

I'd suggest searching your Android development section. That's where I found that .zip

if you cant type fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.2-toro.img there is no hope for you.
I wiped the sd card like a retard... and now don't have a rom to flash.
What do?
I can't find how to mount the sd card.
You have to adb push the Rom to your phone. Hopefully you have the android sdk installed, a quick Google search will provide you with instructions on how to push the file

Are you getting payed or something man?
Why are you suggesting a toolkit, which will then use fastboot, to reflash a whole rom, a stock rom at that, when he has access to a custom recovery, thus he can get himself out of this mess and learn a thing or two about adb (adb can do more than just a simple copy operation).

My galaxy nexus is unlocked and rooted but I'm running stock kernel. I'm getting an abort installation prompt while trying to install it Ota and the same manually through clockwork mod. Any suggestions.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
What's it say the error is? Just download the factory image and fastboot flash all except userdata.img. I think the ota fails bc of cwm, but not sure why it would fail through cwm.
It's saying installation aborted. Do u mean fast boot it from a CPU in command prompt?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I mean fastboot mode, like volume up+down+power, usb connected, command prompt on pc. If you dont know about fastboot, you should probably read these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812959 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895. By unlocked, i assume you mean bootloader unlocked, like an open padlock displayed at the google splash screen bottom..
Thanks bro!

Flash custom recovery via fasrboot and then flash latest supersu via recovery.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
A little more direction than that please? Maybe a link to a walkthrough? Last time I had to flash a custom recovery it wouldn't root properly. I would rather have a walkthrough than brickb my phone.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
The galaxy nexus is very hard to brick..
1. Download a custom recovery from the clockworkmod site.
2. Boot into fastboot and type: fastboot flash recovery the-name-of-the-recovery-you-just-downloaded.img (for this to work you need to paste the downloaded recovery.img into the fastboot folder)
3. Boot into recovery and select "install zip from sd card" (assuming you already downloaded the lastest supersu.zip)
4. Flash the latest supersu and wipe both cache and dalvik cache.
5. Reboot and enjoy.

download recovery http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/toro
open command prompt
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flash recovery {name-of-recovery.img}
then download SU from here
http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip
and flash that in your new recovery.
