Restore gtalk through titanium backup - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

Hi, I uninstalled the official, built in gtalk app through titanium backup some time ago as I used palringo for all services. Since the past one month palringo have stopped support for other services and I can't find a similar alternative for palringo though.
When I tried restoring the backup via TB , it just keeps showing the restoring message forever.
Is there any other way to install gtalk to my ROM?
* please avoid suggestions that includes re flashing the ROM because I don't have a internet connection in my place as of now.

[Q] Titanium Backup after new ROM install

So I've successfully updated my phone to Baked Snack v1.4.
My question is, I made a full Titanium Backup of user apps + data before hand. Can I just re-download titanium backup and run a batch restore to get all of my apps back? or will that overwrite data that has been put in by the new ROM?
Thanks!
I have done so coming from 1.25 so you will probably be alright. I know I was having all sorts of problems coming from Android 2.1 roms but since they are both 2.2 go for it

If you run a batch to get all your apps back, it should be fine. There shouldn't be a problem with overwriting data I believe because it focuses only on the apps.
Saying this, I've jumped around ROMS and restoring my apps has never been a problem using Titanium. I think you'e safe.
On some 2.2 ROMs, using Titanium Backup with result in Force Closes on some of the apps. No idea why but it definitely happens.
This is the entire purpose of titanium backup's existence.
thanks for the info. I started playing around with TitaniumBackup, and found out that I could restore individual apps, so I did that instead, cleaning house while I went and not installing apps I never used.
Follow up question though, does Titanium Backup store saved WiFi information / Text Messages? and if so, does anyone know which app I would restore to get back said information?
I've seen on this forum somewhere a mod that allows you to send you SMS to your google account so the nextime you setup your google account on the the phone it will bring back your SMS messages, I don't know if it does wifi or no. Post found here forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697147

Installing Apps

hi, ive just installed a new Rom, Woop Woop.
however i now want to have all the apps i had before.
i got the .apk files.
i tried using titanium backup, but it wouldnt back upp all my apps? only some of them
so im just wondering is their an app that would install them in one go?
i know windows mobile has one, but cant find one for dhd...
any help much appreciated
thanks
Sometimes my google account does that for me, by restoring apps. I usually just redownload them. If you want to backup, I've always used MyBackupPro, just because it's simple.
The apk Files you can install Manual....i use titanium Backup the normal Version abs it works to.before flashing have to Do a Backup of all data and after flashing you restore them...thats all
If you just reinstall from APK I dont think they will be linked to marked and you will not be able to recieve updates.

Load Rom THEN phone settings?? HELP!?

Gentlemen,
I've rooted my GS3 - works flawlessly. Id like to start experimenting with various ROMS. My questions is
once I've done an android backup with CWM, and the new ROM is loaded, how do I reinstall all of my apps,
and settings (mail, etc)?? I have Titanium backup installed and have backed up each of the important apps one
by one.......
Easier way? That could take hours to recreate.
THanks

Generally restoring phone settings between different ROMs isn't a great idea and can lead to various problems.
You can have you apps reinstalled automatically when you login to Google on first boot.
It reinstals apps on installing google mail??????? HOW?
Now I'm really peaked about loading a new rom..........

Usually when you boot Android for the first time, you're asked to put in your Google credentials - these are used for Gmail, but also to log you in to the Play Store. Then there is usually an option to restore the phone, and it will proceed to download all of your apps.
If you buy the pro key for titanium backup it automates the backup and restore process. And it is fine to restore apps and data (not system data) from one ROM to another. I even restored apps and data from my Atrix to my S3.

How Do You Restore Apps After Fresh Wipe? (AppBrain Isn't Working)

Hey guys,
So I just freshly wiped to update to Sourcery's latest beta 2.3.6. I'm liking it a lot so far, but AppBrain isn't working for me. The app works, but Fast Web Installer says it cannot connect to the network. check your internet connection. Even though I am connected via wifi. I tried both wifi and 3g, same message. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling (FWI & AB). Tried restoring app data from tibu. Tried restoring app + data (nothing to lose). No luck.
I'm wondering if Google ever fixed the app restore feature in the market. I remember it used to install every damn app that I have ever installed and there was no way to stop it! I don't want all the apps I have installed in the past, just the most recent ones I had installed.
Can someone shed some light on either helping me fix AB + FWI, market restore, or another way?

I believe if during the original setup you wait until the network is completely connected and you've selected "restore from my Google account" it should restore on it's on right after setup. Just my experience.

I always do for user apps or google apps that are from the same version of googleapps zip. Usually I flash, boot, nandroid, then restore apps and data. I've never had major system instability problems, but occassionally an app freezes quite a bit (e.g. beyond pod). If that happens I just go into the settings and clear out the data for the app.

Ah, okay. I used to do this. I screwed up when I upgraded from ICS to JB and restored. Apparently, a big no no. I think I restored system data as well. Is there an option to just restore App & Data only? Excluding system*

I believe it's the option to "restore all apps with data"
instead of doing "restore missing apps + all system data"

advice-in restoring email accounts after rom flash

Can you guys share your expertise on how you restore all your email settings after flashing a new rom?
I have become a flashaholic and its a pain re-entering details of my 6 or 7 email accounts every time i flash a new rom.
I use TB (free) to restore my apps.
thanks in advance.
I searched for this by myself just today!
According the changelog of TB ( http://www.titaniumtrack.com/changelog/titanium-backup/5-5-2-1 ) it can backup accounts now on JellyBean. I saw this option in TB (paid version) but haven't tried to restore it for now. Maybe you will also have to backup the data of your mail App.
Anyone can share their idea of how they are restoring accounts??
I don't want to use TB as I hear it causes problems when restoring settings.
