I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem.
I am not sure why this happens but sometimes I plug in to charge and nothing happens. Now maybe I noticed that I play gta3 and my phone gets really hot ca. 43 Celsius. And when I am done with playing it won't charge. Could it be that the phone won't charge when it's too hot???

Not sure what the problem is but 43C isn't hot, mine has hit 97C.
Its running at 57C right now.
Then again I am running it at 729/1536mhz
Have you tried looking into your USB port to see if there is dirt/a connector damaged?

My own experiences
I recently started having the same problem. I can see no foreign material in the USB port, but sometimes when it plug it in it does not register as charging. Unplugging it and plugging it back in (at the phone end) 1 or 2 times seems to resolve it.
While I doubt it is relevant this started happening shortly after I was pushed to 4.0.4.
I've begun wondering if perhaps the jack is loose.
Just wanted to post in case this becomes a known repeatable issue with a fix.
my phone is the Verizon Gnex with extended battery running Android 4.0.4. It is neither rommed nor rooted.
Do a search on this forum, this EXACT issue has been covered plenty of times (about 30 threads I would guess).

So, does it charge when it's off?
Are you rooted?
Have you tried wiping it? (do you have a backup?)

It boot anymore? If your device turn off after Sony logo and charge cable removed it's a known hardware defect. It will only boot if charger is plugged in. If this happen, you have to send it to repair. I also had this issue

I had the exact same issue with my ZL. Got an exchange for it and this one works perfectly.

I got a more Fk sad story. on the seventh day of my brand-new c6503, its speaker is broken. Got repaired after one month, speaker is OK, but since then, GPS never work for me. Today, I open the cell-phone, I got amazed by the worn inside of my phone. Apparent, I got a bad phone from a private shop in brisbane city then I got a bad service to repair it. Just donot think about it. It is annoying so much.
By the way, does anyone know what the GPS antenna for C6503 looks like, so that I can try to add some copper wire on it?
Anyone else get this horrible issue? Last night the battery was around 90% after charging. Slept overnight as I usually do most nights and in the morning I couldn't turn on the Pixel C.
Fully expecting to have died I plugged it in and turned it back by holding the power button down for 20 seconds. I discovered the battery had lost over 50%! I needed it for work today! This is the second time it has done this but last time I can't recall the battery losing so much.
I suspect it isn't hardware related as otherwise the battery is pretty fantastic and that I guess we are in fact just privileged owners of a premium device that is going through public beta test! Anyone else see this before?
See the screenshot for yourself!
have you perhaps enabled auto brightness? as my pixel was and is crashfree for over 2 weeks now. After just enabling auto brightness for 1 day it suddenly crashed.

Interesting, I'll try it. Thanks for the tip
I encountered something similar, twice, I suspect it was the USB A to C cable I was using to charge. The cable supposedly met spec, and checks out via Checkr, but use that cable twice, and it crashed twice, both times left to charge, went to bed to discover the same results. Other cables have not yielded any issues yet.
Yes, switching off auto brightness helps quite a lot on stock kernel.
Still had crashes, but less frequently.
Two days ago I did install the xceed kernel (01.18.2016-1) - no crashes anymore.

He also published a nice TWRP.
Cheers
I bought a second hand Z1 compact, fully functioning (with root, cm12.1)
Unfortunately, the magnetic charger which came with the phone, could be connected in the wrong polarity. connector was hot after 1 minute, so I disconnected right away. But the phone charging capability was damaged already. It cannot charge with magnetic anymore (flashing led). Charging with usb is working, but after reaching 70% the charger OR phone is disconnecting each second (short circuit issue maybe?) so screen is flashing.
I can use the phone on the 70% charge but I don't trust it anymore. The phone also killed the charger of my old LG phone, after some hours charging on the LG (normal USB) charger, the charger malfunctioned, gives no output anymore)
The Sony charger is still alive.
Should I consider the phone bricked, or can it be repaired?
I had a lot of problem using magnetic charger. It burned my battery (after full charge/ recalibrate battery, the phone, at 70%, shut down as 0%) and I had to change it. In my opinion, don't use it except in the case you use sony official accessories
Try to recalibrate battery, or flash a stock rom. In final istance, if nothing works, probably you've to change battery
Have the same issue on mag charger. But was connected less than a second in wrong polarity. I will see how far charhing can be done on USB. When repair needed, is it battery to replace or is there any charging electronics that needs to / can be replaced?

It depends. If magnetic charger broked the battery, should be enough change it. If charger causes also display flash/ display issues could be also other problems. I suggest you to send it to sony, or other affidable technician
Thanks, phone operates quite ok, i currently stuck at 87% with charging, and charging seems slow.... I charged party switched off, partly switched on. Currently, as soon as disply is on (in phone off state, so the charging animation) the chargong led flashes at 87%, if screen iy off, charging led lites orange. With mag charger connected. With USB charger, it turns off....
So I still have hope. Any way to reset any bat stats, not sure if there are any...

You're "lucky": my phone shut down with 70% of charge, and sure 100% was a battery problem
Greetings, I have a bit of an issue with my tablet and it's most likely a hardware one.
About two days ago I had my tablet completely discharged and I put it on the charger. I saw the battery and lightning screen and left it for about a day.
Then yesterday I wanted to watch a movie on it and so I reached for it and all it had was a black screen. I thought that it must have charged up completely, so I pulled it out of the charger and started it up.
It then went as far as the Samsung logo and 20-30 seconds afterwards it shut down. I thought that maybe my ROM became faulty or smth and tried to boot into TWRP. Same thing.
Booting into the Bootloader worked but at one point the screen started rapidly changing its brightness. And it again turned off after a couple of seconds.
I tried this several times, connecting it to the wall charger or my laptop but every time it turned on for only a couple of seconds and now it has completely died off. No matter with which cable, charger or power source I try to charge it, it doesn't light up at all. Power button and combinations with volume buttons don't do anything.
A bit of info about the device: It's about 2 years old running the latest LineageOS. Roughly 1 year ago it suffered a drop and the screen got cracked. I ended up buying a spare screen from China and gave it to a hardware specialist to install it. (Samsung doesn't really have representatives near me, so that was the easiest option) Ever since then the speakers have always been a lot quieter and worse-quality but everything else worked fine.
I believe that somehow the charging circuit fried itself and now the battery has died off. Is that even possible? I haven't charged it with any unknown wall chargers or anything that could fry it. Can someone please help me fix this problem since I have no idea where to start?
Thanks in advance...
You might want take a look to this topic of mine. Not exactly the same problem but the resolution might apply to yours as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, but your tablet can at least boot. Mine can't, which is the issue and it doesn't charge at all when off.
That's why I pointed you to open it and resettle all the cables, as I did. The problem is different but the solution might be the same...

Every time i charge the tablet ,with 4 different chargers (2 is from s7 edge,1 from tab S2 and another one from stock tab pro),at lock screen sais "slow charge".
Even with stock rom my tablet charges slow.i
Is it battery or motherbiard?
I tried format data, restart and take off the battery and put it back to reset.
Any help?I have the tablet over 2.5 years so i think it's battery but i have to make sure,i don't want to buy new battery with no reason (if it's motherboard).

Do you also use different cables for your tests? The best charger in the world doesn't help you if the cable is poor. Another problem can be poor contact in the micro USB port.

Thank you for the reply.Yes the cable is different alsriginal samsung cables.
Usb port maybe cause the issue but i'm not sure...
You think that the problem isn't the battery?

Even with old, weak batteries I have not seen that they force slow charging. Typically they charge normally but then lose charge quickly. So I'd try different cables with the best charger you have, run the Ampere app and watch it while wiggling at the port to see if it is a contact problem.

Have u found a solution to this? My tablet is doing the same thing. It says "slow charging" on the lock screen and in fact is charging very slow even with a fast charger. It wasn't doing it before when it was not rooted and on stock ROM
No.I think it's a bug of this rom.
Yesterday i had a full charge normally.Maybe i'll change battery next month just in case.

Try using the app AMPERE to read the actual milliamperage. I have the same "Charging Slowly" message on my lockscreen but AMPERE might register 1400mA when charging, and sometimes even bellow 500mA. I've had this same issue using different ROMS and different chargers and cables.

How long does it to full charge ? 3 hours are normal, this means it charge with round 2 amps.
Is it much more, than it is a bug of the Kernel from your RR ROM.
I know the thread is a bit old but I replaced the battery in my Tab Pro 8.4 myself for like $10 and it's like a brand new tablet all over again. It charges extremely fast using the same chargers and cables I thought I was having issues with and it holds a charge for an extremely long time.
