ibeats - HTC One X

Hi guys, so I just received my Ibeats headphones from P4U as I complained that their website had said it came with beats and mine didnt. In any case, after it arrived yesterday, I was reading the packaging and it says that the remote and mic are made for Ipod and Iphone and only work with these?
Is this the case? Would I not actually be able to use it as handsfree then? And if so, I'm thinking of selling it brand new and getting the beats solo mini HD if all it'll be is headphones. Any thoughts on the solo mini HD as headphones? Should I stick with ibeats vs those if all it'll be is headphones?
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post? Wasnt sure as its a question, but about one x accessories

All the Beats headphones on sale at present are aimed at iPods/iPhones - headphones aimed at HTC devices will start coming out soon (apparently)

The urBeats are for HTC and came with the Sensation series. The iBeats are for iPhone/iPod. The urBeats work great with the HTC One X. All functions of the remote and microphone work:

I didnt know the remote of those urbeats headset work with the one x and by the way the sony smart headsets also work and provide a good audio experience for a far lesser price!

Hang on...so I beats working fine with the one x? Like the hands free and everything work? Or do we need to get urbeats?

No only urBeats work not those iBeats. And by the way iBeats are meant for ipod/iphone

With ibeats the hands-free does work. But volume control doesn't. I thought ubeats volume control didn't work.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA

Apparently the urBeats headset do work with all the controls buttons doing their exact functions!

Just to clear up this mess of information..... The ibeats have a play/pause button which also answers calls and volume up and down control buttons. The volume up and down buttons WILL NOT work however the play/pause and answer button works fine.
The urbeats have the same play/pause and answer button but have a skip track forward and backward instead of volume control. All buttons work with the onex and this headset. You can purchase a genuine pair of urbeats headphones here: http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.ph...y-dr--dre-in-ear-3-5mm-headphones---white-red

thanks for the replies guys.
Seems the gist of this is, the play/pause works and doubles up as answer call function, but the volume control does not on the Ibeats.
As I said, I got Ibeats for free from P4U. So in this case, is it worth keeping the Ibeats, or would you guys recommend selling it and getting beats solo mini HD headphones, seeing as my Ibeats would be essentially just a headset? What are the advantages/disadvantages between Ibeats and solo mini HD?
Cheers

Right up until I seen this thread I thought I owned iBeats but as matter of fact its urbeats I own as the control function doesn't work on my iPod but works on my onex thanks for the info vin87

I own a pair of urBeats headphones. The HTC One X detects the headphones and selects the urBeats profile.
Only minor complaint is that the bass is somewhat lacking. However the mid range and treble and stereo separation are excellent.

[Q] Earphones that work with the HTC Desire (including mic, controls and volume)

I'm a new convert to Android from the iPhone, and for the most part I'm happy with the HTC Desire. There's just one thing I'm having trouble adjusting to, and that's moving away from the iPhone's default earphones for listening to music. My main hangup is the lack of in-line volume controls.
To get to the point - I'm looking for some good earphones that include:
- A mic
- Prev/next track controls
- Volume controls
What are my options? (If any)
Next and previous track not always supported but you get everything else on sennheiser ip50 ear buds. Sound great, loads on ebay for around a tenner, I paid about 50 quid for mine...

Earphones which work with Desire
I have been trying to solve the same problem, as yet with no real success. I tried the Sienhessers but they din't do everything you and I want.
Two suggestions; do your old Apple phones not work with the Desire? Most of the iPhone compatible phones I have tried do (I don't have an Apple set to try). The best solution I have found so far is adding these - http://www.complyfoam.com/Product/Whoomp!-Earbud-Enhancers - to the HTC stock phones. The sound quality is not that great but they are comfortable and the inline control has ALL the functions.
If you're really bothered, cut the buds off some decent ear buds and solder to the original htc set....

Bluetooth headphones might be an option

No they don't. Bit silly really!
Would be good to have a lead that plugs into the phone with the controls on and then normal headphones plug into that.
Something like this (the RC E100):

Hi I am using sennheiser MM400 for my desire, the best headphones i have ever owned, once you go wireless you'll never go back, bit expensive however but worth it. also has a mike so you can take call in between songs. Just so you are aware back and forward skip sound and play pause works for the first media player you open and that one only. If you want to use it on another media player you'll need to shut all media players down and then open the music app you'd like to use.
It's rechargeable and has a wire if you run out of battery.
Anyone recommend any good in ear ones? Tried my old sony ericcson set... but it fails to work

Indeed. Must be the nicest headset €50 can buy.
Etymotic HF2s here. They've got one button which plays / pauses music and answers the phone. Not quite perfect functionality, but good enough for me. Also has the microphone on it, and the quality is pretty good.
Of course, the headphones themselves are wonderful. I love my etys, but they are an acquired taste. If you don't like in-ear 'phones that go in so deep that they meet in the middle, these might not be for you

I am using my good old Jabra bt620 stereo BT headset and its working perfectly.
best headset i ever had
I use iPhone 3GS headphones. Volume control isn't really an issue for me seeing as i listen to music on full anyway and the pause button still works so its all fine.
I am now using Sony wm 600 for a week or so and am very satisfied.

Earbuds and Headphones IEM

Just a quick question err reassure me before i buy that i need to buy a set with 3 pin layout right?
Are all the 3 pin layouts the same ie.. if i find one with the 3 it will work?
Like say this...
hxxp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71Dr9lqKKJL._AA1500_.jpg
I want to buy these but i really don't know if they work or not...
hxxp://www.amazon.com/Atomic-Earphones-Microphone-iPhone-Compatible/dp/B002RWJDB6/ref=acc_glance_e_ai_purchase_similarities_t_4
Please any and all help and criticism welcome too...
I won't comment on the pins but if you're replacing the stock earphones for better sound quality, these will not give it. I have not listened to these but I have to a higher-end model of JBuds and they sound worse than stock.
The JVC Air Cushions on Amazon for 16-20$ are amazing, especially with PowerAmp app and listening to Techno/Electronic/House music, as well as everything else. I bought a 75$ pair of NuForce 700X IEMs and they sounded the same as my 20$ JVC Air Cushions.

Compatibility question
I have been searching far and wide for compatible in-ear headphones with a mic.
Looking at the pinout differences between the iphone and most android phones, I was very disappointed in what is available. The GND and MIC signals are reversed for many popular android phones compared to the iphone headset pinout. However, the other day, I plugged my friend's iphone headset into my captivate... AND IT WORKED!! I was shocked! I tried my headset in her iphone and that also worked.
Does this mean that iphone headsets work with the captivate? I would just love it if the headset and mic worked. Buttons would be nice, but you can't have everything.
Does anyone have experience with the Klipsch S4i or the Ultimate Ears 500vi with their captivates?
I have experience with the Ultimate Ears TripleFi 5vi on the Captivate and it works, so I'd imagine that extends to all iPhone compatible headsets. I checked out the 500vi and those use diaphragm rather than balanced armature drivers, even though they are not that different in price. I really suggest going for the pair with the better drivers, as there will be a drastic difference in sound quality.
If anyone cares...
Ok this is what i found in the I9000 forum hope it works for what i want...
Ebay link paid $13 shipped from UK...
This is what i want from it Vol up down button and mic...

By the way, has anybody tried the HF3? They don't work with some Android phones with I haven't found anything about the Captivate.
Play/pause music with in-line mic control button
Lots of headphone/mic threads, so wanted to bump one with recent activity to ask a question.
I recently upgraded to GB, was listening to music with a seat of headphones with an in-line mic. I paused the song using the control button on the mic, had a conversation, and when I clicked the mic button again...nothing. The button would only begin playing the paused song if the screen was on. I tried several different lock screens, music players, widgets etc. No matter what, I experienced this functionality:
1. Music is playing
2. Screen times out after X minutes, or I turn if off with a click of the power button
3. 1 click from the in-line mic button will pause the music
4. If I click again within ~5 seconds, the music will begin to play again
5. If I wait 5-10+ seconds before clicking, the music will not start again with a single click until after I turn the screen back on again.
I’m almost 99% sure that this wasn’t the case on my old Froyo-based ROM, so I wanted to check in to see if this is just standard for everyone.
Thanks!

Premium headset with flat cable

Hi!
I'm looking for a headset for my One X that has a flat cable BUT is better than the one included or RC E190.
Do you have any suggestions?
I've been looking at the a-JAYS Four, but I'm not sure they'll work on the One X
An alternative is to buy HS U350 and then normal earphones, but then I won't get flat cables.

Tour Beats - from personal experience
I have Tour Beats. They are great and come with flat cables.
I have to admit though, when I first got the handset and tested my Tour beats with them, all songs other than the ones provided by HTC sounded crap. I'm talking stuff like Megadeth. I'm sure you can imagine my disappointment.
Then I downloaded DoubleTwist pro and adjusted it's inbuilt equalizer. You won't believe how good the same music sounds with and how crappy without the equalizer. Same songs sound truly amazing now.
I'm transferring all my good music to my HOX as I type.
I wish the default HOX music player came with an equalizer.

Ok I bought the HTC stereoclip last week from HTC Lebanon (Microage)
The price was really fair specially for my country where everything is 2-3x more expensive!
Paid 60$ :good:
I tested this car accessory with 2 devices: One without aptx(a sort of BT codec) the Cowon J3 and the other my lovely One X which has aptx.
With Cowon J3:
-Pairing was fast and good
-Sound quality is ...crappy
-Maximum volume output in my car stereo speakers (Citroen DS3) is weak
With HTC One X:
-Pairing was fast and good
-Car app open automatically BT and stream without asking, very convenient!
-Sound quality is...very good!
-Maximum volume output in my car stereo speakers is high, let say at the same level as an audio CD!
HTC car app uses a ''modded'' version of HTC Music app,the navigation is easier in case of a car holder but you get only the Beats sound enhancer, which is too bassy!
The trick I found is to go to Viperx tweaks (only in viperx rom) and replace the music app in car app by the HTC ''classic'' music app,I then gain multiple sound enhancers like SRS WOW and others
So in conclusion, yes it will work with many BT devices like the Cowon J3(which has only earphones BT mode only) but the sound quality and volume will be weak, if you want to buy it for the aptx ready HTC One line then it's a winner.
I am going to buy the HTC car holder for One X,it will be a very nice car audio system then...
This is just a suggestion, but could you also use a USB On The Go cable?
Can you link your phone, at the same time, to your car's Bluetooth for phone calls?
If someone calls the music is automatically cut but the voice call doesn't work with stereoclip.I don't have BT on my car radio that's why I bought this nice piece.
Yes you can recharge it with a micro usb cable while it's playing but anyway the battery last 3 days if you don't turn it off
I bought this too this past weekend.

If someone calls the music is automatically cut but the voice call doesn't work with stereoclip.I don't have BT on my car radio that's why I bought this nice piece.
Yes you can recharge it with a micro usb cable while it's playing but anyway the battery last 3 days if you don't turn it off

Thats good to know, I was wondering about that.
Technically while this is an HTC product, everyone with an Android phone/device should know about this. Honestly though I'd like to see the price drop down 40%-50%. I have a BT stereo headset that allows for 3.5mm plug-in and does the same thing and it cost $30. That battery doesn't last as long (15-20hrs while streaming) but you get the point.
I bought mine at Best Buy in the Cell Phone department. I had to find it on my own because the employees are inept and looked at me funny when I explained it to them.
The big bads of JB + Sense roms?
-No more Tunin radio integration in Car App
-Only Beats mode available now for Music app whereas it's in the car app or the classic HTC Music app.
Don't know why HTC took out all the others (SRS,Equalisers,presets...)
