ok here's the deal,
a friend of mine has a htc desire with a weird rom on it, he asked me to change it to something more "normal".
So i flashed Pays-rom v2.2 a2sd+. it all went fine untill i tried to install apps, i always wend back to the splash screen and then back. so i desided to flash a new radio on it. i flashed radion 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 on it and after it went totally fine, rebooted and it was all ok, but when i rebooted it again it refused to start.. i tryed everyting and it simply would not start. i plugged it in the charger and the led didnt turn on.. but after several times of pulling the battery in started anyways, and worked just fine.
I showed it to him, and he wanted to have an overclockable kernel so i downloaded one, through Rom Manager i set it to flash it, and upon reboot it never woke up again.
I tryed to pull the battery several times and still no turning on and still no led on charge . i dont understand, because on my phone (htc hero) i never had sutch problems.
any help would be apreciated.
Do u have access to your recovery menu
If so then load it by
Pulling the battery an putting it again
Thn hold volume down and power
Thn navigate by the arrow keys to recovery and press the power button
Now your in recovery
Mount as usb storage
And put a new rom on the memory card and flash it
That's it
Remember that next time you should do a nandroid backup from the recovery menu everynow and then especially before flashing themes and radios

Really hope this helped you because when it happened to me i was actually freaked out

Nope, could not power up at all. But I figured out that if I pull the battery for 2 hours, I could get it to boot. So I reverted everything back to how it was and as long as it does not power off it work thanks anyway

So I have had my phone rooted for over a year now and actually this phone is a 004 hardware phone I got as a replacement a few months ago I had to root too.
I went back to a later CM7 nightly from MIUI two days ago or so and things had been good. I flashed SavagedZen 1.2 and everything was still good. Before i went to bed, I decided to calibrate my battery and wipe my stats. After calibrating my battery i went to go into ClockworkMod 3.0.0.5 and it just went to a blank screen. If i hit Menu while in Clockwork, it will pop up 3/4's the way down "ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.5". It will not let me do anything else, it will just toggle on and off with the Menu key. I have tried hitting Back button or Power, but no go.
I tried pulling the battery many many times, using a different battery and pulling it multiple times, using the power cable with them many times and nothing.
It is also stuck in a White screen bootloop if i try and let it just start up normally. (I let it bootloop all night as i slept)
Anybody have a clue as to what is up?
Thanks
Scratch that, I was able to restore it to a clean CM7 via choosing CLEA STORAGE in the bootloader.
GAH!
Hi!
I flashed CM7 (Stable) last night and it was working great. I was using it today when phone froze on me...I don't remember what I was doing...I think I was listening to Pandora. Even though the system was frozen, I was able to hold down the Power button to select Reboot. Phone rebooted but it was stuck on the splash screen for at least 10 minutes. I pulled the battery but it won't get past the splash screen. I tried to get into hboot but the phone vibrated several times and then displayed a blank screen. Now all my phone is doing is flashing the green LED.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Marc
This could be bad, but don't panic yet.
It has happened to me before and a simple waiting 5-10 min and a battery pull has done the trick.
Do you have a nandroid backup? If so and the battery pull works reboot into hboot and then recovery and restore it. If not boot into hboot and do a full factory reset.
If after waiting a while and you a battery pull still doesn't do the trick try holding down the power button and volume UP. This could possibly reboot it.
If you finally give up I suggest trying this thread.

Thanks! I stopped panicking enough to be able to get into HBoot I still couldnt get past the splash screen so I ended up reflashing CM7. Everything is fine and dandy now. I'm keeping an eye out on it today because it froze when it was running low on battery...I want to see if it does the same thing today. Thanks again for the help!
Good luck...
I've had great luck with the CM7 ROM. Last night I ran my battery down to 1% before charging and didn't experience any issues. Hopefully your issue is resolved for good!!!
Glad I could help! I really like CM7 the battery is great on it. If it freezes again try to reflash it. If it works, Great! haha
i was using the Incredibly Debloated ROM and decided to give CM7 a try. it kept saying that phone, market, etc weren't installed so I then tried to go back to IB and now my phone is just stuck at the HTC screen and doesn't do anything. I can't seem to get into recovery and have already tried a hard reset.
does anyone have an idea of what i should try next?
thanks
[EDIT] i spoke too soon. i tied pulling the battery out and then holding down volume down and power while i put the battery in and it went right in to recovery. apparently i didn't have that debloated rom on my sd card so thought 'oh well i'll just put back CM7 then'.. and oddly now things seem to be working in CM7. hmm
Hi, I have been running JellyTime 4.2 R11 for few weeks now on my S-OFF Desire HD.
Today, I noticed that the light was blinking and battery was low 6%, so I decided to put it into charger, and somehow when I connected it soon I accidently disconnected the charger, and when I put it back, the phone probably crashed or something, since it went black and the white screen with HTC logo appeared and it started to boot again. Now, JellyTime tries to boot, the bootanimation goes fine for sometime but then it gets stuck after "playing" the bootanimation for a while, nothing happens, even if I wait 5 minutes, it's stuck, bootanimation is frozen, no matter do I have the charger connected or not.
So, is there anything I could do, or is reflashing the only solution? I did full wipe when I flashed the ROM.
If you need more information, sure, just ask.
You could try dirty flashing, but if that doesn't work you'll have to reflash.

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't help, gets stuck still on bootanimation.
Time to full wipe and flash it again then. Wipe&FlashTime
Happened to me a few times. I suggest a battery pull before anything else. Seems stupid. But it can work in some cases

I did battery pull several times considering that the phone refused to shutdown even when holding the power button for 10 secs, so battery pull was needed every time.
Anyway, it's now running fine when I reflashed.

I have the same problem since a crash on opening the outlook-email App (JellyTime 4.2 R9).
I found, that the "data" partition causes the trouble when booting. Formating the "data" partition with "4ext recovery" fixes boot-freezing. But this is not an option for me as my last (working) backup is a couple of months ago (yes, I know - should backup more frequently...).
I was able to backup the up-to-date "data" partition (with 4ext recovery) but when restoring it (even on an fully wiped and updated system) boot sequence freezes again.
Any ideas???
Many thanks!
Solved the problem with the data-backup. Instead of restoring complete partition the APP "AppExtractor" works fine for restoring data of the partition backuped.
For now, system runs perfectly.
Conclusion:
If system hangs in Boot-Animation use Recovery for backup of up-to-date system. Full wipe system and install ROM of your choise. After that restore SMS, contacts, etc. with "AppExtractor". Apps should be installed from PlayStore as far as possible. "AppExtractor" allows restoring of app, data+app, data.
