Hi!
I flashed CM7 (Stable) last night and it was working great. I was using it today when phone froze on me...I don't remember what I was doing...I think I was listening to Pandora. Even though the system was frozen, I was able to hold down the Power button to select Reboot. Phone rebooted but it was stuck on the splash screen for at least 10 minutes. I pulled the battery but it won't get past the splash screen. I tried to get into hboot but the phone vibrated several times and then displayed a blank screen. Now all my phone is doing is flashing the green LED.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Marc
This could be bad, but don't panic yet.
It has happened to me before and a simple waiting 5-10 min and a battery pull has done the trick.
Do you have a nandroid backup? If so and the battery pull works reboot into hboot and then recovery and restore it. If not boot into hboot and do a full factory reset.
If after waiting a while and you a battery pull still doesn't do the trick try holding down the power button and volume UP. This could possibly reboot it.
If you finally give up I suggest trying this thread.

Thanks! I stopped panicking enough to be able to get into HBoot I still couldnt get past the splash screen so I ended up reflashing CM7. Everything is fine and dandy now. I'm keeping an eye out on it today because it froze when it was running low on battery...I want to see if it does the same thing today. Thanks again for the help!
Good luck...
I've had great luck with the CM7 ROM. Last night I ran my battery down to 1% before charging and didn't experience any issues. Hopefully your issue is resolved for good!!!
Glad I could help! I really like CM7 the battery is great on it. If it freezes again try to reflash it. If it works, Great! haha

Hi everyone,
I've got a problem. My rooted desire running ReflexTSenseHD v1.8. Last night the battery went dead or so I thought then. Anyway when I got home and I tried to charge it nothing happened. Tried a few things (battery out, battery in) and finally got it charging.
The next morning I tried to boot it and but it hangs on the white HTC screen. Took the battery out, tried it again still the same screen. Took the battery out again and tried it one last time. I booted it in the bootloader and cleared storage. This time it booted, but when it finaly got to the lock screen it said: connect charger but couldn't get it off the lockscreen. Took the battery again and this time it booted normally and worked like nothing happend.
After a few hours I got curious if it would boot normally right away. But unfortunately, the whole thing started over again.
I searched the web, but couldn't find anything like this. The white htc screen freeze is known, but that is usually due to a broken/ faulty bootchip which in my case is not likely because I can boot (sometimes).
I haven't got a clue what to do next but hope any of you do.
Thanks for reading this, and hope that somebody has a solution.

ps sometimes I can boot in recovery but most of the times it will hang on the white htc screen.
Try boot into recovery and wipe the boot, cache, system, data, dalvik cache and do a factory reset too. What on a fresh rom. If you can't be bothered with that, use an ruu which will do a fresh everything, even the bootloader. If things still are messing up, talk to HTC it your carrier.
Sent from CM7
Thanks somehow I got into recovery and wiped it all, and so far so good
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
unfortunately the issue has returned. So far I figured out that if I wait long enough, it will boot but then hangs onto the lockscreen, show the empty battery and says connect charger. I can't unlock it so the only way of rebooting is to take out the battery and start it again.
I just don't get it. It can't be a faulty bootchip, I suppose it wouldn't boot at all then.
I already tried the steps above from meaple but this time I hadn't so much luck. In booting it again.
I'm getting a little desperate by now so any help would again be appreciated.

ps: I'm on a new rom the RCMixHD v3.6 which at first worked like a charm.
Had a friend bring over an Evo 4g with the infamous bootloop of death.
Specs:
Revolutionary

HW: 003

HBoot 6.16

First attempt at booting the phone, it would hit the lockscreen and reset. Then it stopped on the boot animation, and then it hit the splash screen after that reboot and it gave up. Trying to get to recovery at that stage resulted in freezing on the splash screen as well. Flashed the Amon-Ra recovery successfully and it would SOMETIMES go to it and then sometimes it would just freeze on the splash screen. Hmm... Tried CWM recovery with similar results. When I was in recovery, I did factory data and cache wipes as well, just to be on the safe side. No luck. Alright, so I figured let's reset everything and start over, maybe there was a bad flash of a rom or kernel. Flashed the hex-edited HBoot 6.17 and then the stock P36IMG.zip for the 4.54 version. Everything went smooth, no error messages, all OK. Now the phone is listed as S-On with the appropriate HBoot and Radio versions. Good deal...and bootloop issue continues. Argh! Figured, I should try running the RUU from the PC just for heck of it. I tried both the 4.54 and 4.67 versions and both provided Error 120 saying the battery was not 30% or more. Odd, since the battery was charged fully according to the charging light, and from the brief times it did hit the lockscreen the battery looked fine. So I took a break from it. I came back to it the next day and thought I would try and, it booted to the lockscreen, and bootloop. Hmm. Seems it only likes to boot when cool or not having messed with it for awhile. Interesting. Let it set for a bit then put it on a fan and tried to boot to recovery...and it was the first time it had went to recovery in awhile. Hmmm. Took the phone and put it in a tupperware and put it in the freezer for like 10-15 minutes and tried to boot again. Booted all the way just like normal! Weird. Running like a champ. Played around with it for a few minutes, then just let it sit for awhile. No reboots at all. Rebooted the phone manually, but there comes the bootloop. So, threw it back in the freezer and tried it again after a bit and now the phone has been on for over 5 hours. Haven't played with it much, but before it just wouldn't even load, but now, obviously the temp has risen to normal levels and no restarts. I'm completely baffled. Would this be an issue with the battery since it is an aftermarket one (don't have a stock one to test unfortunately) since I know it can cause random issues and RUU didn't like it or...some strange hardware malfunction? Previously thought it might be an issue with the NV partition from the MetroPCS flash but since it is up and running OK now, I would think that would not be the case. Any thoughts?
So here's the deal..
So I'm no newb when it comes to flashing roms. my Dinc is my 3rd phone with a custo.m ROM. Well what happened is. I flashed to cm9 kangs from cm7 v13. Well after about a week I was sick of the instability and having to install apps twice just got annoying.. soo... I decided to go back to cm7 but I didn't have it on my sd anymore so I pulled it from my comp and flashed through ROMmanager. Well upon booting it got stuck in a bootloop (which is the first time I've encountered this.) So I took out the battery, and I held down both volume and the power button and the phone vibrated 5 times and the LED went from flashing red to green and the screen stayed black. Now I can't boot into recovery.. nothing. Almost thinking its bricked... is there any way to save this phone?
Thanks for any help u can gived.

If you can access hboot its not bricked. You need to do the five vibes fix herehttp://pvillecomp.com/?page_id=33, if you can get to hboot to use fastboot. If you cant access hboot you are out of luck.
well an update. what i did was pulled the battery and held down the power button for 10 seconds, then put in the battery and plugged the charger in. and it forced it back into the bootloop. i was then able to access hboot and try and reinstall. well both cm7 and cm9 both started the bootloop. so i went through and factory reset the phone and formatted the sd. and also wiped the dalvik and cache. also formatted system/data/cache, and reinstalled cm7 and it started force closing EVERYTHING. so i completely wiped the phone and reinstalled cm9 and everythijg worked fine, so i went back to cm7 and now everything is working as before. didnt have to enter code in the terminal emulator blahblah.. just an easy fix for me dont think itll work for most but did here so its worth a try i guess.
I need a bit of help with a stock HTC One X. As of this morning it won't boot up. I have made no changes to the ROM, everything is stock.
Tried entering the recovery panel and turning fastboot on then restarting but every time the system stops at the "HTC One" page after making a startup sound. Sometimes the screen will go black and hitting the volume keys will bring up the volume changer but that is it.
There was no warning of an OTA update or anything like that.
When charging the screen stays on and dims, but stays on the "HTC One" screen.
Factory reset HOX and it booted, but next day same issues. This is 3 times I've had to factory reset now.
Every time I restart or cold boot it freezes on the "One X" screen.
This exact same thing has just happened to me! Just 10 minutes ago
I have no idea what to do.
I have not attempted root or anything like that everything is stock (Optus from allphones).
All I did was restart and now I cannot get into the phone.
I can get to those options (fastboot) by holding down the volume down button and the power button but restarting it or powering it off there does not help.
I havn't tried a factory reset yet as I'm scared about loosing all my data.
Can someone please help!
Please please
I'm suprised someone else is having the exact same issue what the hell is happening
Have you tried using the Recovery option from the Bootloader?
Yeah I tried that.
It didn't do anything. I've since done a factory reset. That worked but I've now lost everything
Now that's it's allw whiped I figure I might as well root it and install android revolution. I hope it's just a software thing and this will fix it.

Fair enough, if you're thinking of Rooting and installing ARHD etc then feel free to use my Guide : The Stock to Custom ROM Awesomeness guide
It'll take you from Stock to having ARHD on your phone ok

Took it into HTC last night and had the firmware flashed. No problems now... 12 hours with numerous restarts just to make sure.
It looks like it was a corruption in the software. I noticed HTC turned off the fast boot option before giving the phone back to me. Took 30 minutes in total.
If it happens again, try to hold the power button and the "Homepage" button at the same time. You should see a grey box saying "Continue holding to restart".
Thats a full restart rather than a shell restart.
That may help.
Phone's been slowly giving me more and more issues. Today I was using it fine, turned off the screen, a bit later, tried turning it on and nothing. This has been a common occurrence, about once a day I have to do a battery pull or plug it in to make the screen turn on, then all is normal. Battery pull got it to boot to the splash screen, but then nothing. Plugged it in, and nothing. Left it plugged it in for about an hour, tried again, still nothing. Unplugged and tried powering on, nothing. Pulled the battery again, and could only get to the splash screen. I'm running JB Sourcery, and have the one selected where the apple rots and then it spells out droid. I get through that and then it does nothing else.
Info: just tried again, had to pull the battery, then I could get the google logo to pop up, but that was it.
Info the 2nd: plugged it in for 2 hours, the graphic showed it fully charged. So I tried booting it and again, same response..gets through the boot splash screen, but goes black after. Pressing power button does nothing, doesn't even get the charge graphic to show up.
Info the 3rd: I left it be this time thinking maybe it was just really laggy or something, but after 15 minutes, still nothing. But I can feel a bit of heat as if it is on.
Info the 4th: I can get into bootloader and recovery fine. I was even able to make a backup (only thing I could think to do in there that would take some time and not risk screwing it up more) So it's not a battery issue, seems to be something with the rom.
Please help
Even though the phone is rooted and custom rom, can I take it back to Verizon? I've only had the phone since December. If I could do that, is there any way to get all the pics off of it first?
try to flash stock image from google

Silly question, but how would I go about getting that? And can I get it to the phone without the phone being able to boot

deja vu.....million times.
with a little search i found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
Was able to wipe data/cache and re-flash the rom. Seems to be working for now. I think I'll go back to stock (thanks for the link samersh) and see if I'm still having issues.
