(Query)Need help - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am about to buy a epic 4G which is going to be my first cdma phone and I have no idea about it. Its a unlocked phone. I wanted to ask whether if I flash a custom rom on it, will I loose the evdo settings?
Thanks in advance

1. Every cdma phone is "unlocked"
2. You don't loose any radio settings ever unless you use Odin and check the box to do so.

How to flash to another Carrier (Cricket,Metropcs,Etc)

i wanted people To see it work but there is still more to the puzzle like data I'm sure this was not the only way to write a prl to the phone and can't wait to get my hands on another one as the one I had was a customers dat had took it to 3 cricket store already and was giving the run around about how its impossible to flash it took all of a hour to get it talk and text flash with a little more time I'm sure I could have got data
Could one potentially use part of this to safely change their PRL only? i.e. putting a corporate PRL on the phone?
EDIT: It seems to have worked.
Yes You can use this To put any prl You want even tho u rename it test it still Will show the verison in about

Whoa, what happened to your original post?
So even though this is a 4g lte phone, it is able to be flashed to metropcs? Currently i have the evo 3d flashed to metro and I wanted to get the galaxy nexus. But I wasn't sure if the sprint version could be flashed or not.

If i was to buy a sprint galaxy nexus and go to any metropcs, they would be able to flash it and get talk and text with their program of houdini? or you have to use a different program in order to flash it?
As of right now no houdini Will not work You can check there website tho

Metro PC's is a joke
You are better off looking on Craigslist find someone who has a store (preferably)
Why?
Because even in the event they do do it you will probably only get talk and text.Usually no mms or web
An independent retailer will most likely get the job done better.

How would you get the ESN into MetroPCS's inventory if there's NO MORE Houdini and being that it's a ESN beginning with 99XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX?
PM if needed! Thanks!
Sph-L700 sprint galaxy nexus
No one can flash this at all. Is there/Will there be software? So that it can be flashed to cricket. This is what I wanted. Now I guess I will put the phone on craigslist. Any insight.
What about another phone similar like nexus s
I have been kicking myself for a week now trying to get a Nexus on cricket and I have been getting nowhere. Its their international phone and it works when I put a sim card in it from AT&T and T-Mobile but no such luck with Cricket.
Sorry about the hi jack. But the site video said if I can't find the exact answer that I'm looking for I should find one close to it and post it in there.
The phone is mod GT: i9020T Google Nexus S
Thanks in advance.
You can only flash a CDMA phone to Cricket or MetroPCS the i9050T is a GSM phone.. if it uses a sim card it wont work...

Carrier Crossover...

I'm wondering if I can like flash the factory ROM/radio/bootloader for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus onto the Verizon one and basically turn it into a Sprint phone?
I know they're really the same device so I think it could be done with the Nexus Toolkit easily, but before I try I want to know if it really can be done, I know any carriers Sim Card works so why not this too?
Thanks to any that provide info

Not a chance.
verizon cdma radio will work fine on sprint, no need to try to flash a sprint one.
lte obviously will not work at all no matter what you try.
of course getting sprint to recognize the phone is another matter and more trouble then its worth considering the same phone is available on sprint with working lte.

They are not the same device. They are sufficiently different hardware that you wouldn't be able to activate even if you found a Sprint CSR that would be willing to lose their job by adding the MEID to their database

[Q] Flashing Sgs3 to Cricket

I want to flash my S3 over to Cricket but there are a few things I don't know and cannot find on the forums.
1. If I am Sprints network, do I need to buy a phone for the service?
2. Am I able to be a flash-o-holic still, or do I have to stay on stock?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Also, flashing the tutorial I read doesn't change any apps that o previously purchased?

At&t phones operate on gsm. Make sure gosmart is a gsm carrier. Also, depending on the carrier, you may not see LTE speeds
Well i assume you would have to unlock it which is now illegal without carrier permission so you would have to call at&t and have them unlock if it doesn't already come unlocked
Gosmart uses a sim card( tmobile) but im not worried about lte speeds. What im worried is at&t claiming back their phone. Now this guya in craiglist says he bought the gs3 and then his job gave him the iphone, so he has no use for it. Will at&t will automatically unlock it when he got the iphone?

Also how can I tell the phone its unlock or not? Anyway to check that?

[Q] T-Mobile SGH-T999 on Straight Talk?

I searched but nothing could answer my questions. I have to send the phone to my brother that is on Straight Talk. It is a T-Mobile branded phone. I tried using that unlock code but it does not work. Currently the phone is running on AOKP aokp_d2tmo_kitkat_nightly_2014-03-27. Do I need to flash this to a AT&T ROM? And if so will the unlock code work then? And is there anything I should know about flashing a AT&T ROM over, like special drivers, etc?
You have to be on touchwiz for the unlock to work, so flash a T-Mobile touchwiz ROM and enter the unlock code.. You can flash whatever afterwards and still retain the unlock
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
Thanks. Its never as easy as it seems. But this will be easy enough. After though do I need to flash an AT&T ROM?
Nope
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
If you want data and signal you'll need APN setups and the phone must be added to the straight talk network...
Just so you know.

Only ever flash stuff that is intended for your device, regardless of the carrier you use it on.

Thank you for that info. You saved me a possible over the phone headache. Glad there are folks like you around that know this stuff inside and out.
I noticed that you can not add an APN unless you have a SIM in the phone. Not a big deal.
