my computer crashed while i was flashing the generic world update to my xperia arc, now when i turn it on it vibrates as it would normally do and the led(green) flashes as it would normally do but the screen doesnt come on and it doesnt start up,are there any solutions to help restore my phone?im not worried about loosing any data or applications iv ried hard resetting it but that doesnt work and it isnt recognized by update service or sesu
Try using the Flashtool, if you can get the phone in flash mode then you shouldn't have any issues.
thats what i used in the first place which got me in this position, i used flashtool x10 to use a ftf file for generic world lt15i but it stoped half way through, and said error on the log on flashtool
the computer i was using was old because i had to use a windows instead of my usual mac so i used the old windows family computer, it has a problem however with the usb which i did not know about however i plugged in the phone after it prepared to flash(flashtool x10) then it said error in the log of flashtool, then the computer shut down :S now when i try to turn it on it vibrates then the led flashes but thats it, any suggestions?

Hi everyone,
Sorry for the second post but the first one has lost in the conversations, so I think that would be better to open a new thread.
I was using JJ's Hybrid ROM v2.4. And when i heard about sony's original ics upgrade, i decided to install the original one. I found this thread and followed the instructions. As so many have said, i have faced with flashing aborted problem. So I have unplugged the phone try to restart but nothing happened. Led flashes green (very quickly turns off) vibrates (as usually it does when starting) but nothing happens.
I have unplugged phone try to connect it via fastboot mode, but connecting usb cable while pressing menu button has no effect. Also when i connect the phone it always connects with flashing mode (like i have been pressing the back button).
I have tried to flash the other ftf files (on the first post) but nothing happens. Flashing aborts (just before that message it says flasing loaders/null.sin. I guess java application has a null string). I have tricked that changed the LTE15.sin file name to null.sin file, it passes that phase but still it is not bootable.
So is there any way to recover my phone?
Thanks a lot

Hi cptlogos:
Sorry for your problem, the only thing that i can say you is that every times i'd flash and block the cell, everytimes flashing an original tft wiht flash tools resolved the reboot issue after bad flashing, remenber for flash with flashtools, keep pressed the back button, the left one, and plug the usb cable.
Hope you can solve it.
Thanks for your reply jcgechevarria.
Actually I have achieved to some point, now i can boot my phone.
I have tried to run the FlashTool in linux (Ubuntu 12.04) and finally flashed it successfully. But now it can not read sim card. It asks me my pin number, waits for 1 minute then asks me my language, and after all it warns for no sim card.
I have tried with different ones, but no success at all.
Is this because of some kind of wrong region installation (I am living in Turkey and i flashed LT15i 4.0.2.A.0.42 Generic Global World)
So what can i do for my next step
Now you have the phone booting you can always try using pc companion To repair the phone.

I actually upgraded to ICS with pc companion
But it still gives error about sim card. It can not read it.
For now I have tried different ways to get the phone running back:
1) * I have successfully flashed LT15i 4.0.2.A.0.42 Generic Global World rom
* Rebooted, but it could not read the sim card. (all other features, such as wifi, works great)
* Then I connected phone to PC Companion, and upgraded to ICS.
* Rebooted, but again it could not read sim again.
2) * Then I have flashed LT15i 4.1.B.0.431 Generic Global World, rebooted, again it could not read sim card.
* After that I connected phone to Software Updater, re-installed system from there, rebooted, again it did not read sim card.
While trying all these methods, I could not connect phone with fastboot option (connecting phone while pressing menu button). If I could boot phone with fastboot, at least I could try to install custom kernel & rom.
Anybody has any ideas what can I do to get my phone back :/
so my phone r800i xperia play i tried to get cm9 aqnd when it told me to fastboot
reboot the device to cwm it didnt turn on and when i press on button it just makes a buzz and it connects to my comp it like 1 min and the red light flickers while its pluged in to my computer using usb then it pops up unkown device plugged in your pc.then fails to install it help fastboot and flash mode wont turn on.
i asked my cousin who worked with these problems he says you have to do some complex thing on your computer. Any other way i might send it to sony.
it keeps poping up that it cannot recognize my usb plugged in .
Try downloading and running the update service:
http://sony-ericsson-update-service.en.uptodown.com
This should flash your phone back to default (stock) ROM I believe. It worked for me when I deleted /system
Flashtool is much better that SEUS in my opinion. Much more flexible.
When my Play would be rebooting constantly I:
1. Connected it to pc, Let it recognize my device
2. Before it would reboot again, I took the battery out.
3. Entered fastboot mode
4. Flashed new firmware
a while ago i tried installing the Enhanced Stock ROM with flashtool
it stuck at 12% installing system.sin for about 8 hours, so i decided to cancel it
i have read that cancelling the flash can cause softbrick, and must be repaired by sony pc companion
but now, my phone wont charge, and if i turn it on, after sony ericsson text (not logo)
it will only show (!) mark with a phone beside it, and turn off after a while
even PC Companion Phone Repair mode do not detect my phone (i pressed the back button while connecting)
is this what we call hard brick?? if i want to bring this to Sony, have i broke the warranty by flashing with flashtool?
thank you.

I hope you saved your TA with Omnius... That's probably the only way to save it without paying.

Hello.
I have HTC ONE X for a long time.
today i suddenly got a notification for update (as far as i remember it was the"heartbleed fix" update).
ive downloaded the update and start the installation.
at the moment i press start the phone turned off and became like a "zombie".
hes not turning on, doesnt show the red led while charging (and also doesnt heat up while charging like it used to).
i tried to connect the phone to my pc but pc doesn't recognize the device, and the phone doen't respond to the connection.
some details on the phone (if you need it): CID_044, the rom was official, official recovery and boot, it was relocked because i did it withot changing anything except the unluck and relock.
i tried to download drivers and re installing them, as well as java.
tried to press power +volume up\down\both.
tried to search for device using adb.
tried to rebbot via fastboot and adb (throught the pc).
all this without any luck.
anyone got anothe suggestions? the phone i completly dead?
So i was using my phone and decided to restart it after updating my adaway files but my phone never turned back on. The two press the power button screens did not show up either. I tried to uses the MSMdownload tool since i thought my phone was somehow bricked but that didnt work either, it just kept restarting the download process after everything was completed. my computer makes a sound when its connected and it connects correctly as a quallcomm 9008 device but even after all this nothing is working. has anyone experienced something like this or does anyone have any advice?
did you try to long press both power button and vol up ...you should feel a vibration...
maybe it's not turned of maybe it's error causing the screen to be off... also is there any heat?
Which method of the unbrick tool did you use? First or second? If the first, then maybe you should give the second also a try.

I've tried everything and I used th me second method yet nothing happened. I can see my phone get recognized by the computer and get listed on the MSN device list yet nothing happens after it finishes the process. After the green line shows up telling me that it's completed everything the process restarts writhing a few minutes unless I unplug it. No vibration no nothing the phone just died on me after I restarted it .
Try doing MSM on a different PC with all drivers installed , hope it helps
Try to repeat flashing again, there is no other way. Use method 2only. Extract tool again and try flash.
When I was used Xperia Z1, I bricked my phone with a soft brick. So I installed driver in my PC and flash Kernel though FASTBOOT(ADB) either it's not show Device in my PC (I show just "Unknown Device").
After that my phone can connect to my PC again (Now It shown C9303 or something that meant it know it's a phone).
So I can flash by Flashtools again. Soft brick is not scary as Hard brick, you'll find some way to bring it back easily.
Hope this help!
PS. Bricked Phone is WEAK in Battery, always connect it with charger.
