ok I did the following.
went back to stock ics (original)
installed the new update
rerooted
re unlocked boot loader
re cwm ed
re installed the sd card swap
it all appears to be working.
but ti bu stopped
so I uninstalled it and tried to reinstalled it but I get "
"insufficeint storage AVAILABLE"
I was able to install some huge game after that so its not a space issue
see it swapped
internal storage shows 29gb free
sd card shows 4gb free
tried an older version. same issue

am I in trouble ?

Hi,
I've got problem to launch Modaco ROM 2.8. Previously i had 2.7 and I wanted to check out Motion Blur ROM. I have done nandroid backup and flashed new rom. Because i couldn't login to Motoblur account (It's needed to use this ROM) I decided to restore previous ROM. I think by mistake i pressed nandroid buckup again and i lost my Backup. I managed to copy 2.8 ROM to my SD but when i removed safety USB storage I noticed SD card icon with information that my Card is possible damaged. Since then i had problems to us SD. Windows wanted to format my card every time I tried access. I checked what it like in Partition manager. It showed me only one partition Fat 32 1.8GB (should be 1.5GB Fat32 and Ext3 + swap partitions) So I format it again and created new linux partitions. Windows could read SD but Mobile still showed Damaged Card. So I restarted Mobile and now i can't do anything. It's going to Hero Logo (waves robots) and then going to HTC Logo and then goes back to Hero Logo. Is it just because my SD is broken and buying new SD will solve the problem ? or did I break my mobile permanently ?
Thanks
Sorry for my poor English
///edit I just removed SD and it's working . Need to buy new SD
i've experienced a very similar problem where it reported my sdcard to be damaged and worse my phone won't even boot.
what i did was to remove the sdcard and it booted fine ( i had mcr 2.5 working), then noticed sdcard reported no issue. then simply rebooted to recovery, wiped, and applied mcr2.8 zip file.

Had a similar problem didnt have booting problems though, solved the problem in exactly the same way as kroosh. The problem stems from the swapper app which did come as part of the rom but is now only optional.
I had swapper too & guess you are right.
Unfortunately the 2.8 is getting sluggish and not sure if it was the swapper as well. I will try to restore 2.5 and see how it behaves
My card wasn't recognized because it was formatted in wrong format. I managed to install new recovery image v1.2.3 and i have created partition from there and its working fine now.
Hi
I had the same problem with my hero, if you disconnect the usb wrong ect. And the "damaged SD" error appears. I first didn't know what I was doing wrong, (was new to Android) and I re-formatted my SD card twice.
Anyway, after a while, I relize just turn off the phone, remove card, wait a few seconds, and put all back together.
Hope this works for you
Regards

[Q] Help! Desire, rooted, Ginger Villain, boot loops and market won't work!

Hi,
As per title, parttaioned sd card today using Gparted on Mac. 16gb card became 14gb fat 32 primary and 1gb Ext 4 primary and 32mb linux swap.
SD card worked fine in phone but needed to restore data after wipe so used Mybackup Pro Rooted to restore app's from file after I restored 11GB onto SD card.
It said please reboot to see app's, so I did. Then Boot loop MAJOR! Ginger Villain screen causing me proper nightmares.
I've tried going to recovery and clear memory and that made it boot again but lost everything (backed up on mac though) but gone meanwhile. So bought titanium Pro to batch restore. Wouldn't download, on install just got GV boot screen and after 10 sec's the lock screen.
Went trawling through phone settings and into CyanogenMod settings/application. Ticked 'allow application moving' and selected 'install location' as external. Went to market and got TP to install, which unlocked free version.
Tried running batch command restore as thought i'd backed up TP files from last backup pre messing to Mac, which i'd since restored to SD card. However all app's are crossed out so I'm guessing I missed a file with app's in and there all corrupted.
Can't get market to work again now though. Just goes to boot screen on install again. I don't get it!
I'm going to try a different ROM I think like Oxygen to see if that changes anything but I'm worried its the partitioning, even though it all looks good in TP and mounts fine on Mac with labels I gave. Also worried i've lost market links.
10mins later...
Just installed Oxygen Gingerbread ROM. Going to see if I have any joy with this.

[Q] WFS freezing at boot after SD partition crash

Hi everyone, this is my first post but I have been lurking for a little while. Thanks to this forum I was able to unlock and root my phone (WFS European A510e running 2.3.5). I partitioned my 8Gb into 7Gb FAT32 and 1Gb ext2, and used Link2SD to free up some internal memory. All was well until about a month later when I began getting 'insufficient space' errors when trying to link new apps, even though it showed over 800Mb free.
And that is when I made the seemingly harmless move that set into motion the near demise of my phone! I tried to move a linked app to SD card. Immediately most apps force closed and displayed the 'missing app' android icon. Link2SD was gone so I couldn't try to undo it so I rebooted my phone but nothing changed. At start apps force closed again and a 'Damaged SD card' notification popped up. Being the cautious noob that I am, I had made a backup when I rooted the phone. I went into Hboot and through ClockWorkMod flashed the backup. When the phone rebooted it got stuck at the splash screen. When I put the SD card into a reader and plug it into the PC then the SD is visible for about 30 seconds before it crashes. I tried using MiniTool Partition Wizard to reformat the SD card. It says that it is completed successfully but when I remove and reinsert the SD card I see that it has not reformatted. The 7Gb partition seems fine. The 1Gb ext2 is 'unavailable'. When I try to format the SD card through CWM recovery then it says that no SD is found. I have cleared data, dalvik cache, and cache partition many times to no avail. I have also tried copying the backup copy from my PC to another SD card and trying to flash backup from that but I get a 'no files found' error.
I downloaded RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.3_Radio_47.23c.35.3037_7.54.39.28M_release_236989_signed and RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.26.401.3_Radio_47.23e.35.3038H_7.57.39.10M_release_261695_signed in an attempt to flash my stock ROM but when I try to open either RUU wizard I get a '5001' error.
And this is where I am now :crying: I'm so confused. I hope I haven't messed my phone up beyond repair. If anyone can help me figure this out I will be forever grateful!

SD card not working after failed kernel install

So this is a very weird problem. Im on Tema 18.5 ROM, and I tried installing the Xluco kernel, but I got a blank screen on boot. I flashed the Temaseks ROM again and everything is normal, but when I insert an SDCARD it says checking for errors and it hangs on this for ever. I even tried another SD card and its the same thing. The weird thing is that I'm able to access the SD card from recovery!! Ive tried factory wipe (system, data...everything), and reinstalling the ROM, but the problem is still there. I tried the SD cards in my phone and they are recognized immediately.
Can anyone decipher what could be going wrong?
Best,
Sam

So this just happend to me..

Using my wileyfox swift for a few days now and having a blast. This is the cheapest phone I ever got and i'm enjoying it
even more than my Nexus 4.
Today on the other hand, something strange happened to me.
Phone was working fine with a Samsung Evo 32 GB UHS-I formatted as internal storage.
Today I decided to move some apps from internal storage to the SD. I should have never done this..
After 3 apps the phone would stop moving them and stuck at 0%.
I thought this was just (another) android bug an rebooted the phone.
I moved 3 more apps and the same problem occurred.
This time the phone got stuck in bootloop at the wileyfox logo and a soft reset solved this.
When the phone booted I noticed 6 apps had disappeared, strange thing is. These weren't the apps I moved to my SD.
After opening the app drawer my phone froze completely, another soft reset was needed. This went on 5 more times, until I
removed the SD card. After this the phone started fine.
I checked the SD in my laptop and it was only showing the folder "Lost.dir".
When trying to format the SD card it was only showing a option to format it to 16MB.
After this i used Windows build in "disk manager" and noticed that there was a second (and main) partition of 16MB on the
card(?!).
After removing this partition I could format it to the original size.
It took me 5 tries before the phone would format it to use as internal storage. It would force close 4 times before with
an error message.
Can't find anything related about this issue on Google, is this a known bug?
TL;DR: Moving apps from internal storage to SD f'ed up my SD partition/card. Can't find anything about this issue online.
Phone info:
Wileyfox Swift
Cyanogenos 13.1.2, latest updates installed.
Not rooted, locked bootloader, nothing modified.
Even if u can use sd card as internal storage or whatever is not recomended to use it. Or even move apps on it my friend lost his 32gb sd card after using app to sd or something similar i dont remember
Actually this is some solid advice for everyone.
I tried using a build in feature and it did a whole lot of staying things. Since this happened I will stay away from the feature.
