Hi,
I can't find the cellcom israel stock rom. Can anyone help me?
And another question, in the root process do I need to wipe the phone? Because I want to do it for my wife, her gio is very slow.
Is there any other way to make it work faster?
Thanks,
Lior.

No need to wipe when u root the phone. And you can install custom rom and then overclock it. Then it will be muuuuch faster with great functions
But if I stay with this ROM how can I speed it up?
Is there any app for this after rooting?
Thanks,
Lior.

No, phone won't speed up after rooting. There's one way to speed it up on stock rom: install custom kernel and overclock Gio. But you'll lost warranty, so it's better to install custom ROM

Well I have some time to answer to one of your questions. You can overclock only when using a custom kernel. A custom kernel is mostly included with custom roms so I suggest u try CM 7.2. I will answer to others in a few hours.

How to install a rom?
install CWM on your smartphone , than install Cyanogenmod 7.2
If somting go4s wrong, how to backup and restore? --> in cwm you can choose to make an nandroid backup
How to install a kernel --> not necessary anymore if you use CM 7.2
Ok thank u all guy's
i will try it in the next few days : )
BTW, if you overclock your CPU your battery will die very very fast. For me stock is better than everything.

Not completely true, my CM7.2 Gio is overcloked to 940Mhz and has been on for 3 days now and still has 20% battery... The battery lasts exactly the same as any other mobile phone I've had.
And wtf are you doing with that phone ? Just make calls ?

No, i was asking Stilm.
You must install CM7 by CWM Recovery and if you install patch 4 you will have unlock screen flicker bug.
ok i understand how to install recovery,
now Cyenogen7 is a ROM right ?
becuse they explane hire how to install recovery:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1288223
than they say to install a ROM.
WTF ? What are you doing at Ideos X5 U8800 category ? That is not a tutorial for GIO.
This is a tutorial for GIO:

ow... sorry .....
OK guys, thanks for the help now...
i readed the link you gave me now.. wath do you think that is a better ROM
GIOPRO V1.4 or CM7 ?
and can i overclok using setcpu in both ROM's ?
Edit:
If i my choise is GioPro 1.4 can i install it in 1 package becuse from the 1.2 to the 1.3 you need the 1.2 to update to the 1.3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16979810&postcount=548 so can i install the 1.4 in one package?
You can overclock even without any rom. You only need a root.

You need a custom kernel.

if you want to overclock, you have to install a custom rom in your device, dont the stock/official rom
you can install it via odin, you have to download the rom first
you can backup and restrore via cwm

Hi
Iam a beginner at this but a got an answer on you threat when you posted the samsung galaxy gio mod with cyanogenmod 9.
I followed the link and you explaned how to flash and how to install that.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...05&postcount=4
Thanks very much.
But here are my questions, plz answer them all.
1. Whats the difference between flashing and rooting your phone? Do i need to root it before i flash it?
2. How can i erase the mod later if i dont want it anymore. maybe change back to samsung touchwiz?
3. What backup do i have to backup?
Is there any guide for that?
4. Is there any risk of damaging your phone if you root it or flash it? What could happen? And can you restore it to factory settings?
Thanks for the help man, i really appreciate it

2. Flash to stock rom and unroot ur phone.
3. On stock rom u can backup using KIES. Or native backup from phone. On custom rom u can used CWM to made nandroid backup. ( look into forums )
4. Yes, a risk always.. but as long u follow the step from, it won't hurt ur phone.

If you are a beginner, I suggest not to flash cm9.

I recommend to use stock first, root it and tweak it.

Read and search man, all the info is there. There is uncountable guides about how to root an un-root and why and what it does. Just make some search you will find all you need. No need to start a thread for this.

Dear Experts,
I have T-Mobile Note II T889 rooted with Clear ROM 5.0 and android version 4.1.2. I have my phone SIM free so I can use any other SIM than T-Mobile. I need your help in updating my ROM to 4.3.x without losing unlock feature in addition to rooted ROM and minimal customization i.e. the same experience as stock ROM that has high stability and high maturity. what is the best ROM for that? . Does N7105 stock ROM work for me?
Thanks for Help

a) If you are 4.3 bootloader you can flash this MrRobinson's ROM
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23252070760975435
b) If you are 4.1.2 bootloader you can flash this ROM, download link on post#1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2636552
If you want to stay stock then you may not flash any other ROM's but if you wnt any custom ROM's then just read few posts in development forums and see which ROM suits your need.
