[Q] galaxy gio All go help.

hi all,
becuse i cant post in the devlopers section i must post it hire:
first of all i am a totaly noob but i want to learn this, i think i learn fast...
now i have reading 1hour of posts of roms,flashing,rooting...
I know this:
Rooting Using SuperOneClick=That Worked.
Dont use Rom mananger if it isnt supported to your phone(i tryd and it was a hardbricked phone..)
I want to know this:
How to overlclock using setcpu.. becuse the max is 800Mhz and that is the normal..
How to install a rom?
If somting go4s wrong, how to backup and restore?
How to install a kernel
I want to install android 2.3 or 3 or 4
i looked over the forum and i found some things but... I need it in one post..
i know i ask a lot and i know that there is a chance that you just going to delete this poste becuse there are posts like my s but i dont understand so please help me?

Well I have some time to answer to one of your questions. You can overclock only when using a custom kernel. A custom kernel is mostly included with custom roms so I suggest u try CM 7.2. I will answer to others in a few hours.

How to install a rom?
install CWM on your smartphone , than install Cyanogenmod 7.2
If somting go4s wrong, how to backup and restore? --> in cwm you can choose to make an nandroid backup
How to install a kernel --> not necessary anymore if you use CM 7.2

BTW, if you overclock your CPU your battery will die very very fast. For me stock is better than everything.

Not completely true, my CM7.2 Gio is overcloked to 940Mhz and has been on for 3 days now and still has 20% battery... The battery lasts exactly the same as any other mobile phone I've had.

And wtf are you doing with that phone ? Just make calls ?

No, i was asking Stilm.
You must install CM7 by CWM Recovery and if you install patch 4 you will have unlock screen flicker bug.

If i my choise is GioPro 1.4 can i install it in 1 package becuse from the 1.2 to the 1.3 you need the 1.2 to update to the 1.3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16979810&postcount=548 so can i install the 1.4 in one package?

thats not true.
i my GIO is rooted and i installed SetCpu and the maximum speed he can set is the standaard 800Mhz...

You need a custom kernel.

if you want to overclock, you have to install a custom rom in your device, dont the stock/official rom
you can install it via odin, you have to download the rom first
you can backup and restrore via cwm

Maybe you should read. Its a kernel, wich can be installed for stock and custom roms, but not cyanogen

@huhuhaha01: i read doky's thread. i read other posts too. i am xxki6 2.3.5 and planning to change it to dxla1 2.3.6. some 1 tell me that if upgrading you're phone to 2.3.6, you need to tick repartition. but doky tell that it is no need. i am so confuuuuuuused

You don't need repartition as it required bootloader, and doky doesn't include it in his, it worked without it though

[Q] No flash player working

Hi, so from like a month ago i try to get flash player working on my gio, I tryed every flash player from this forum and I searched on google too, but nothing. I just can't make it work. I every time do it how the instructions say and when I'm done i double check to see if I did something wrong, but no ! I make everything correct every time but flash player isn't working! What do I need to do to make it work?
My Gio:
Stock rom
Android 2.2.1
Rooted

You need Flash Player on smartphone? I honestly see no purpose. Even on PC.

Search "adobe flash player armv6" on google and download, it's working also, upgrade to 2.3 if you can

I will not upgrade cause if my phone broke or something my dad will be very angry cause he bought me the phone and I don't risk, I want to upgrade but my dad won't let me! And iok1 I tryed it's not working!

Just follow the instructions Kies gives you.. You'll be fine..

Ok installed kies and plugged in my phone and it says new firmware update aviable and I just follow the instructions and when it's done the android is updated?
And will this remove the root? And should I take off the SD card?

So you managed to updated your phone to 2.3.3 ? If you did that now you have to root your phone again and go to "big thread for new users" in Galaxy Gio General forums. There you have a link on how to instal flash to your device.

1. Download clockworkmod from here and follow the instructions on how to install it.
2. Download cm7 from here and follow the instructions
3. enjoy cm7

HELP!!!

Hi...i got the HTC Beats sense v6 and i wanted to put the stock rom back....i tapped the downloading option and surprise the downloading text didn't appeared....i got the battery off and puted on but nothing my phone don't want's to power up....HELP:crying::crying:

i really don't know what happened....i got the rom from like 2 weeks and know i wanted to install the stock rom and when i wanted to do downloading nothing....the battery is charged but nothing he's dead....

Well, it didnt happened if things didnt messed up.
You must have done something wrong...
Can you still boot anything? Recovery , android?!

The rom cant possible kill your phone its proven
Only after many many flashes your recovery will have problems with backing up
But isnt really needed
Only thing that could kill it was some apps that arent for this phone
Like rom manager etc
Things that require root etc

Nice rom... undoubtedly FASTEST I hv evr used.
I jst want u to add Titanium backup app + Rom control options (as we have in JJ Hybrid).
Also, does this rom support USB-OTG ??

Normally the usb hotsting function is determined by the kernel you use. The rom can simply have an integrated sys app that allows usb mounting and browsing, though even if not there are many free apps on the market that can do this easily. Doomkernel has the usb otg fucntions and so do some others though still with minor lacks of support like ntfs file systems ect.
by the way jader, what kernel do you reccomend fot usb hosting with ntf support for both usb and sd, also with swap or zram and other common tweaks?

i stuck on Sony Logo i follow the instruction....

same happened to me on my xperia arc. But later I found a SOLUTION in original thread, which worked for me.
1. Open the zip file in your pc
2. Go to System --apps
3. Delete some apps to free memory (I deleted 3D-Camera)
4. Now transfer this edited rom zip file to your sd card and flash in recovery
I hope it ll work ( dnt delete any file about which you are not sure)

Well, just delete some files in /system of the ROM.zip, like 3d cam....

After smooth install, I got stuck at the sony logo like others reported before. I cannot access cwm anymore, is there anyway to get it back (since BL is locked)?

Did you install the latest firmware and given advanced stock kernel by jader? btw how did u manage to install cmw recovery with a locked BL?
I'm running .587 firmware with jaders advanced stock kernel and everything works fine though i have an unlocked bootloader so everything is easier.
I guess u just have to flash another working rom.....just my opinion

My SIM toolkit seems lost, how can re-install it?
