My play could really use a new back cover. The only one's I could find are like $10 while extended batteries & backs can be found for $15 (both amazon)
anyone know where I can get a new cover cheaper?
(Veizon jacked up their prices too )
Note: Please forgive my rule-breaking because this fits here so much better than Xperia Play Q&A

Comparatively, no. If you're paying $10 for a stock battery cover, and $15 for an an extended cover and battery, then you're much better off just throwing down the extra $5 for a new battery.

That's what I was saying. I'd rather just buy a new back cover for like $5 if possible and that's why I asked. The real thing is it's in bad shape and should be replaced but it's not super urgent so I ask first before jumping to my conclusion of no and just buy the extended battery and extended battery cover for $15.
I see the Standard Battery Cover in Verizon Wireless' online store, priced at less than $4.

SN: i just got mine in this morning.... gotta love amazon prime!

I also received mine today but sadly am returning it. I have 4 of the cheap HK batteries off ebay that I switch out during the day and was thinking I would just get one of these instead. After getting it, putting it on and seeing the bulk it added and how incredibly hard it was to get the Siedio backplate off again, I am thinking that I am going to just stick with the cheapo HK batteries. I use my phone heavily during the day and one of these batteries usually lasts me until I get home around 5pm. I switch out a fresh one at 5pm and I use it off and on until I go to bed, usually between 9pm-11pm which I leave it in overnight off the charger. In the morning, I switch out a fresh one and off to work and the cycle repeats itself. If I end up getting on a long tech support call with Cisco or another vendor, I always have a freshly charged battery in my pocket as well. Well, since I am done with this wall of text about my battery situation that pretty much has nothing to do with this topic, I will end it now.
Thanks for listening.
Even $50 is a complete ripoff. I have 6 spare batteries, all from ebay that cost less than $50 combined. I don't care that they might not have the advertised capacity, but neither does the seidio (according to battery boss) and guaranteed my two cheap 1800mah batteries will easily outlast the 3500mah seidio one for a fraction of the price. So what if I might have to swap one out at some point during the day? On top of it, they don't need to use that HIDEOUS cover that is required for the Seidio.
I once placed an order for an 1800mAh battery one ebay and it ended up being worse than stock. Luckily i was able to get a refund.
Can anyone recommend a seller on ebay for an extended battery?
how much time did you give it to stabilize and what charging method did you use. they are all good sellers for the most part, you to filtering down by type of product. you might want to try looking for the seidio brand or sprint extended batts the off brands are hit and miss because a lot of them are out dated(because they buy in bulk and cell til there gone no matter how old the product) lithium ion batteries with high discharge rates, they might advertise as polymer but ship something totally different so be aware. hope this helps.
How many times has it been revealed that a lot of those Chinese/HK sellers put crap batteries and solder the connections to the housing of a 3500 mAh ones?
Agreed that their housing looks better than Seidio's (what were they thinking?) but that's all they're good for.
Get the real thing if you want real results.

I have to agree with you on Chinese batts they don't nearly last as long as they say but they are better then stock.
I have used both seidio and Chinese 3500 batts and actually I prefer the seidio back
Even though i thought i wouldn't
And they made it that way so they could use holster still with out makeIng a giant case to go witha giant back.
Oh and back on topic I got two seperate orders from seller speedy-China they each came in 10 days and they were fine for what they are

I got some for 50 cents on ebay and they rock great battteries
I would be interested in knowing anyone was able to get a good cheap extended battery on ebay and from who.
I just ordered a 3500mAh battery from a guy named motel268 on ebay.
It shipped out a day after buying it (I got it for $0.01 cents plus $10 shipping). Hopefully it'll rock.
If not... it was ten bucks.
motel268? i gotta pass based on the name alone

Got mine of Ebay for Quicksellers.. Here is the link. Suppossed to be here in a few days.. So I'll report back after I check it out. How are you guys breaking these in? I have heard to charge them and let them drain completely and I've also heard Li-Ion batteries don't need that. Also heard to let it charge for a while after green light comes on... How is this possible if it stops charging after that?
ok.. won't let me post a link, but look for the Quicksellers vendor... I paid $11 shipped... Its more expensive from the same seller now, the price seems to fluctuate.
not too sure about battery's but i sell parts laptops on ebay

sorry for the shameless self promotion
Most my inventory is on Amazon it's hard to make a dime on Ebay but I do have a few listings up.
I'm definately not the cheapest but I have 100% feedback for a reason... I invest in Cadex equipment to verify what I purchase and RFQ directly with the manufacturers per those specs
My amazon store is www.gizmax.com
Not trying to sell you anything I'm sure there are other sellers out there just as good and maybe better

FYI , I wrote Mugen Power about making a high capacity extended battery for our Tmobile SGSii T989 and they wrote back and said it would release before Christmas. Im planing on getting one and will update the OP with a review when they release.
thats the same person i talk to and he/she says it be release in november...well its december..
That would be sweet. Battery life is already great on this phone given how it is on so many other android phones. I bet I could easily go 2 days without charging with a better battery!
A little FYI about Mugen Batteries. Check this out.
i had mugen on my G2 and it was good! and i am a power user, i can drain it in 12 hours, i use wifi hot spot alot but nonetheless it is worth it.

That's interesting, but what if the battery on the left was a 1800mAh battery, that would make it a 3000 mAh battery. I don't know what to think about the picture but I have used Mugen batteries before with good results.

that's the reason why i've never purchased their batteries,
it's great an all, they even include the battery door cover, but.....
there are no cases that fit!!!!!! when you use them, so that's a big no no for me

Probably not the most convenient but I stick with OEM batteries, they're cheap enuf on ebay and having 2 batteries works just fine. Also the cases fit fine along with the OEM car dock. OEM might be more expensive, but it's the real deal
I think AllGamer has stated this in a different thread already much better than me
The inability to fit a case with these extended batteries prompted me to import a T-Moble PowerSkin, at 70.99 USD after a 20% discount this thing should have came with a bj or something.
It doubles the thickness, i am not sure how i feel about the quality of it yet, it feels good to the touch but it doesn't feel like it fits the device tightly, and to transfer files via usb you have to remove the case because they did not enable usb pass-through from the case charging port to the port that connects the case to your phone. The thickness i can deal with i knew it was coming, i like the idea it was a case too, but it kind of feels like it fits like ****. like its been stretched out by taking it on and off multiple times.
Not that i can bother returning it, i'll just have to eat it. Shipping it back would cost half the price of the case, put in the value of my time to complain to them and im sure at least 2 emails/calls. What can yah do.
Can you post a link for where you ordered the powerskin from and post some pics?

They're customer service is actually very good. I emailed them about a blackfriday code 2 days after I made my order and they refunded me 15%.. today I emailed about not receiving the case and they sent me a replacement for free and said that if both cases come, I'm welcome to keep both
EDIT - Idk how I managed to post in the wrong thread lol.. I was looking at many case threads at the same time and I thought I was in the diztronic one when I posted this. my bad
I would like to buy a new battery for my SGS2 in the UK and I wonder if anyone had any experience with it. There are a lot of batteries around and I guess some of them are better than others and some are rubbish even if the sellers claim they are original Samsung ones. Any advice is welcome.
I got the genuine? Samsung extended 2000mh replacement from amazon. Was about 20 quid and totally worth the money. When I get to a pc I will pm you the link. Battery now lasts 36hours with 4hours screen time which us not bad trust me. Comes with replacment back cover which makes the back completly flat. Still fits in rubber case tho. Slightly bulged at sides but buttons and protection still there. In summary worth buying.

It was from the official dealer of Anker in the U.S.
right now it costs 50$ but every few days they make sale and sale them for very cheap price.

Hi.
I've been using a chinese one, from dx.com. It's been 6 months since i've bought it. No complains, especially because it costed me $4.
I'd recommend the anker batteries.
Galaxy SII • Stock XWLSN • Dorimanx Kernel
me too I'd recommend the anker batteries.
Looking for a shop that sells internationally and has good prices and isn't scamazon. There are tons of ebay sellers with lookalike covers. They all say genuine, oem etc. I can't tell which ones are real and which are fakes. The only one I'm fairly sure is legit is from Korea and costs a fair bundle of money. Any ideas guys? Thanks.

I am sure it is but it fits and works perfectly and cost 10 dollars

ok well my question was where to buy the original case. i know some of the fakes are probably as good or better but it sucks taking a chance since it takes so long to get here
It's a case not the tablet itself as long as it protects the tablet what difference does it make? But hey it's your money just giving you another option and if you want an original cover just get from your Internet provider, that way you can the maximum possible price for something that a fake does the same for 10 bucks

I got a legit one from Conrad, for €40 (which is €20 cheaper than Samsung direct).
I bought a Moko cover, it only cost $15 but has a cover. It also covers the corners so if it's dropped it's pretty well protected. In the U.S. Amazon sells it.
I have an el-cheapo Chinese cover coming probably today or tomorrow. Will post comments/pics.
Have not found an affordable source for the official book cover. I'll try to pick it up when I'm travelling for work to a place where there is a Samsung store (none in my country).
Anybody tried the Samsung bluetooth keyboard? Any good?
I have just bought a new Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 Value Edition (that's what it's called here in Switzerland, it's the upgraded version with the octa core processor) and I am looking for a case that has a strap on the back that makes the tablet easier to hold with one hand, preferably a rotatable one but a static one would do as well, does anybody already have something like that for the 8 inch S2 version that he could suggest to me or has anybody heard of a good case with such a feature? Otterbox, Griffin etc. dont seem to sell any cases with a strap on the back for the Tab S2.
Ebay or Amazon my friend....used probably....
