Replacement battery advice - Galaxy S II Accessories

I would like to buy a new battery for my SGS2 in the UK and I wonder if anyone had any experience with it. There are a lot of batteries around and I guess some of them are better than others and some are rubbish even if the sellers claim they are original Samsung ones. Any advice is welcome.

I got the genuine? Samsung extended 2000mh replacement from amazon. Was about 20 quid and totally worth the money. When I get to a pc I will pm you the link. Battery now lasts 36hours with 4hours screen time which us not bad trust me. Comes with replacment back cover which makes the back completly flat. Still fits in rubber case tho. Slightly bulged at sides but buttons and protection still there. In summary worth buying.

Yesterday I bought 2 X1900Mah batteries + wall charger for 19$!
It was from the official dealer of Anker in the U.S.
right now it costs 50$ but every few days they make sale and sale them for very cheap price.

Hi.
I've been using a chinese one, from dx.com. It's been 6 months since i've bought it. No complains, especially because it costed me $4.

I'd recommend the anker batteries.
Galaxy SII • Stock XWLSN • Dorimanx Kernel

me too I'd recommend the anker batteries.

[Q] Cheapo Ebay Extended Batteries

I'm considering the cheap 3500mah batteries on eBay. The Seidio battery is over $60, and I can get 2 of the eBay 3500 batteries for $20. At that price they wouldn't be a bad deal even if they lasted slightly less than the Seidio.
Does anyone have any experience with these? I've done several web searches, but haven't seen anything interesting.

I wouldnt do it. Seen to many no name ebay laptop batteries burn laptops up. Google also says beware, do a little research. Some people are claiming they are great. I just cant take that chance though. Good batteries are expensive for a reason, they cost to manufacture. After shipping it seems these cheap batteries cost the seller under $1 for everything. How can that be quality? a ton of horror stories online about ebay generic phone batteries... You make the call.
Tell me where you STOCK battery is made and make as decision. A stock htc battery blew up as well. I have a 300mah from hong kong and it is better than stock but not better seido.
i was in the same delimna

They are all made in china, HTC, Siedo all of them. The difference is OEM and Name brand batteries have quality control, they use good cells and materials. The cheapos have no standards. Thats why there is no name or no identifying marks on them, so they cant be held accountable for what they sell. The OEM and Name brand use quality Japanese cells, the no name batteries dont. And yes the OEM can explode as well, they all can. Chemical reactions give you energy. Thats the nature of a battery. Even more of a reason to make sure you get the best quality. It's just the 25 cent battery has a lot higher failure rate, some reviews even say using the cheap ebay battery is like playing russian roulette with your phone. I'm not making this stuff up by the way lol. Use what you want to use. But educate yourself, do some searching before you decide to take that chance. Batteries are expensive, no matter what kind. They always have been. Why all of a sudden can you get batteries from china for pennies after shipping? And you better believe they are making a good profit, they arent going through the trouble to make a few pennies, and they still have ebay fees. Yes they work new out of the box, but these types of items degrade fast, and thats when you start having problems. Especially with the constant abuse we put our evo batteries through, they are subject to way more abuse than the average cell phone battery. For those of you that have a working 25 cent battery now, cool. I can almost guarantee you you wont buy another battery like that in a year from now, you'll know the deal by then. And if this is the miracle battery and it is quality and lasts as long as name brand, then the company that makes them will be the richest company in the world in a few years, they've found out how to do something better and cheaper than anybody else in the world. way way cheaper, like 800% cheaper lol. Soon we wont have duracell, we'll just have eBay batteries.
just a reminder to the OP
those ebay batteries are no where close to 3500 mah.... they are only advertised as 3000mah in the first place.
Seidio seems to have hit the perfect mark with this battery
check the stats

Must refine your search skills. There's a 15 page thread right on the front page of this forum that talks about these batteries and a similar sized thread about just the Seidio battery.
i have two 1500 mAh batteries that are shaped exactly the same as the stock htc... they're black with a different label. I would bet they are the EXACT same battery

I also received mine today but sadly am returning it. I have 4 of the cheap HK batteries off ebay that I switch out during the day and was thinking I would just get one of these instead. After getting it, putting it on and seeing the bulk it added and how incredibly hard it was to get the Siedio backplate off again, I am thinking that I am going to just stick with the cheapo HK batteries. I use my phone heavily during the day and one of these batteries usually lasts me until I get home around 5pm. I switch out a fresh one at 5pm and I use it off and on until I go to bed, usually between 9pm-11pm which I leave it in overnight off the charger. In the morning, I switch out a fresh one and off to work and the cycle repeats itself. If I end up getting on a long tech support call with Cisco or another vendor, I always have a freshly charged battery in my pocket as well. Well, since I am done with this wall of text about my battery situation that pretty much has nothing to do with this topic, I will end it now.
Thanks for listening.
Even $50 is a complete ripoff. I have 6 spare batteries, all from ebay that cost less than $50 combined. I don't care that they might not have the advertised capacity, but neither does the seidio (according to battery boss) and guaranteed my two cheap 1800mah batteries will easily outlast the 3500mah seidio one for a fraction of the price. So what if I might have to swap one out at some point during the day? On top of it, they don't need to use that HIDEOUS cover that is required for the Seidio.

Recommended Ebay seller for extended battery?

I once placed an order for an 1800mAh battery one ebay and it ended up being worse than stock. Luckily i was able to get a refund.
Can anyone recommend a seller on ebay for an extended battery?
how much time did you give it to stabilize and what charging method did you use. they are all good sellers for the most part, you to filtering down by type of product. you might want to try looking for the seidio brand or sprint extended batts the off brands are hit and miss because a lot of them are out dated(because they buy in bulk and cell til there gone no matter how old the product) lithium ion batteries with high discharge rates, they might advertise as polymer but ship something totally different so be aware. hope this helps.
How many times has it been revealed that a lot of those Chinese/HK sellers put crap batteries and solder the connections to the housing of a 3500 mAh ones?
Agreed that their housing looks better than Seidio's (what were they thinking?) but that's all they're good for.
Get the real thing if you want real results.

I have to agree with you on Chinese batts they don't nearly last as long as they say but they are better then stock.
I have used both seidio and Chinese 3500 batts and actually I prefer the seidio back
Even though i thought i wouldn't
And they made it that way so they could use holster still with out makeIng a giant case to go witha giant back.
Oh and back on topic I got two seperate orders from seller speedy-China they each came in 10 days and they were fine for what they are

I would be interested in knowing anyone was able to get a good cheap extended battery on ebay and from who.
I just ordered a 3500mAh battery from a guy named motel268 on ebay.
It shipped out a day after buying it (I got it for $0.01 cents plus $10 shipping). Hopefully it'll rock.
If not... it was ten bucks.

Got mine of Ebay for Quicksellers.. Here is the link. Suppossed to be here in a few days.. So I'll report back after I check it out. How are you guys breaking these in? I have heard to charge them and let them drain completely and I've also heard Li-Ion batteries don't need that. Also heard to let it charge for a while after green light comes on... How is this possible if it stops charging after that?
ok.. won't let me post a link, but look for the Quicksellers vendor... I paid $11 shipped... Its more expensive from the same seller now, the price seems to fluctuate.
not too sure about battery's but i sell parts laptops on ebay

and parts phones

sorry for the shameless self promotion
Most my inventory is on Amazon it's hard to make a dime on Ebay but I do have a few listings up.
I'm definately not the cheapest but I have 100% feedback for a reason... I invest in Cadex equipment to verify what I purchase and RFQ directly with the manufacturers per those specs
My amazon store is www.gizmax.com
Not trying to sell you anything I'm sure there are other sellers out there just as good and maybe better

Mugen 4500mAH Battery+Back

Hi
A 4500mAH Mugen extended battery battery is supposed to be shipping 'soon' for the Note:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...or-samsung-galaxy-note-with-battery-door.html
At that price ($109), i'll be letting someone else sample/report on it first!!
I was expecting the Mugen for the note to be a bit bigger, but it is the same capacity as their extended battery for the S2.
Nigel
5000mAH Chinese extended battery: http://www.aliexpress.com/product-f...ith-Back-cover-4pcs-lot-High-wholesalers.html
Chunky!
I've ordered the Mugen. I'll report back on performance in a few weeks once I've got it and cycled it a couple of times.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA App
And I ordered "el cheapo" from ebay. Will report back once it arrives from HK.
I got the same cheap Chinese battery. Two batteries, wall charger, car USB charger, USB cord - all for around 10 bucks. The batteries are rated at 2500 mA, but get discharged almost twice as fast as the stock one. The wall charger is poor quality, I had to open it to solder the leads back in place.
All that considered, the deal is pretty decent for the price.
With that price, u can buy 3 extra OEM Samsung Note battery 3x2500=7500mah and still keep the thin look on the Note.
I love the Mugen batteries except none of the cases fit. Does anyone know if the bumper cases fit with the bigger batteries??
Buy Sanyo Eneloop 5000mAh, multi purpose mobile charger pack.
I wonder if Mugen is going to make an OEM sized one with 3000 mah Those are usually, price wise, comparable to the original batteries, and have a little more umff to them! But I think 110 dollars for a battery is a little over priced.
On the Mugen Website it now has a product image and it looks like the battery cover has a kickstand. Or is that just a generic image place holder?
**EDIT**
Yes it is a battery cover with built in kickstand. Nice!
And the expanded cover is available in black OR white (or red?), and it looks much better than I would have expected. Still chunky, but might be easier to hold.
EDIT: wonder what the effect is on the external speaker?

I live in Spain, and I have purchased about 4 of these batteries and I have never once paid customs / importation taxes.
Looks good, the only thing that worries me is the real capacity. the 30Euro samsung battery says its 2500mah and its really2450-2500 mah battery. But usually, according to tests from the past. Mugen batteries rarely reach 75 percent of their advertised capacity. And thats a ripoff. Ive been considering buying mugen 3200mah for S2, but then I found out its really a ~2600mah battery for sky high price. I will be surprised if this battery proves to have at least 4000mah in the future when someone does a discharge test on this expensive piece of thing.
P.S. also to the wise guy saying he will buy a cheap ebay 5000mah, those are probably even worse than stock sammy battery with double the thickness.

I've bought some other cheap batteries from eBay. I would suspect it's 3500-4000mah. The one Mugen I've had was close to the advertised capacity. I'd say at least 85%.

Mugen is a dutch company so you wont need to pay custom duties if you are in the EU.
According to their website Mugen are based in China
How much weight does it add to the unit?
Does it make one hand operation more difficult due to extra thickness? I can sort of manage one hand operation with a lanyard currently.
Anyone has bouhgt the Mugen-Battery-Pack and can post some pictures or better still a video?
I'm interested about the dimension/handling of the package and can't find something like that!
Thank's! Best regards!
Andi
I'm interested, but it looks lke it will make it pretty thick, and I like the portabilty I have, meaning, I like the fact it fits in my pants pocket without being to bulky. I viewed the phots with the battery and the case it comes with, it will be pretty thick.

Samsung batteries from eBay...legit?

I came across this on eBay and I was wondering if these are legit or counterfeit or what...
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2-X-1750mah-...US_Batteries&hash=item2319062694#ht_500wt_922
For the price of two, it's a great deal, but only if they are real Samsung batteries.
Has anyone ordered them?
It say OEM. So I'd assume so, google that model number..return it if it isn't.

Kinda shady
$13.88 for two batteries? I wouldn't risk it. Sure you're spending about $15 for two batteries, but then you might damage your $600 phone. There are other reputable eBay sellers such as shimshop who are selling genuine batteries and other accessories for reasonable prices. Hope this helps.

Yeah, that's my concern, but what makes these different from Mugen or Seidio batteries? I've had back luck with one of those brands and paid a lot more for the batteries from them. If they are real Samsung's, it's a good deal, no? I guess I can always get Samsung to confirm the serial number on the batteries to confirm they are legit, and EBay offers buyer protection if they are fakes.
These would be spares anyways, not everyday use... I would literally charge them and put me in the fridge for when I need them on an extended outing or something.

These eBay batteries in question have NFC (as they would being OEM). It says so right on the battery itself. I'm talking more about reliability. Are the expensive "brand name" compatible batteries better then "cheapo" eBay ones. And again, these are allegedly original Samsung's.
Now, I did see similar batteries which had the "A" in Samsung reversed so it looks like a "V"... Obviously, those are fakes, but the sellers never claimed them to be originals anyways.
