How to get access to file manager? - HTC One V

I transferred some game setups in my memory card through USB from my PC. I want to install them but couldnt find file manager or access to memory card.
I just bought my phone yesterday so please explain me in detail if possible.
I apologize if my post is silly or if already you have discussed on this issue.
Thanks in advance

There is no default file manager. Download ES file explorer from play store or any other file manager.

Use HTC Sync's Application Installer.

Browsing SD Card

I'm having a braincramp. Using my EVO, (not my pc) how can I browse my SD Card on my EVO? I transferred some apk files from my pc to my EVO via bluetooth and would now like to install them. Any suggestions?
Download a file manager from there market.
From Team HTC Evo.
Worked perfect using Astro File Manager. Thank you!
i accidentally erased HTC Facebook and Friend Stream, dowloaded Astro, placed apk files on SD card. It has the files and file size for each one. I try installing them, but after the instalation it tells me the installation wasn't done. Any idea what I'm doing wrong and how to correct. Thanks
I'm not sure if Astro supports root read write, try using Android Mate(free) or Root Explorer(paid).

Installing '.apk' apps directly from a computer

Been looking for a thread on this but cannot seem to find it. How does one go about doing this? If I download an app to the computer and want to install directly to the phone, how can I do it if Kies does not allow me to do it? It keeps telling me it is not the right format when '.apk.' states it is.
BTW, is the lastest Kies suite v1.5.1.10074_2?
Switch to mass storage on your phone and transfer the file over.

You don't need Kies. Just connect your phone as a "Mass Storage device" to your computer and copy the apk file either to the internal or external sd card. Then using a folder organizer (either the inbuilt or any other app like astro) locate the apk file on your phone and click on it. It should then prompt you to install it.
Hope this helps.
adb install
Or if u cant use USB cable, just transfer the .apk file to your SGS via bluetooth then find the file in your SGS. default is:/sdcard/bluetooth then ryn it from there.
GL
Estrongs File Explorer can access any share on your computer directly.
Also, you can use adbWireless (just search for it). Assuming the SDK is installed, you can do:
adb connect x.x.x.x (your phone's ip address)
adb install your_app.apk
No usb connection needed.
Thanks guys. I transfered the file directly using the Mass Storage method used Astro to gain access to the file to install it. Great help from all of you. I do appreciate it very much. Again, a big thank you.
Dropbox is also great for transfering apk-files to your phone!

That's what I'm using
Perfectly fine, and even very practical. I sometimes give out links to my dropbox to my friends if they want an app that they saw on my phone.
Whoops, double post.

[Q] Help I deleted task manager 1.1

I need to reinstall task manager 1.1 (com.sec.android.app.controlpanel.apk) I installed 1.5 and it is not working for me. I have another phone with 1.1 but can not find the file with android commander. If someone could please post the file or tell me ware it is located it would be most helpful.
/system/app/jobmanager.apk
Thanks so much
So I downloaded the jobmanager.apk from the system dump file suggested on this forum, which was found over at android central. I place the file in the root of my SD card and use astro file manager to install. I get "this application can not be installed" error messenger. I attempted to install with android commander, this really messed my phone up and I had to do a nand restore. I know I'm a noob but I have no idea whey this is giving me trouble.
OK so I know why I could not do this. I need us use root explorer as described in another post to copy the file to the system/app directory. Then change permissions for the file with root explorer.

[Q] A very Noobish Q: Is there a File Manager pre-installed on DHD

Without downloading one from the market
Thanks
really don't remember, but i don't think so...
That's very unusual! I just want to browse the contents of the SD card (or the phone memory if there is any) in order to install an apk file!
No file manager is included in stock roms, there are plenty free ones on the market though.

File Manager

What is the best file manager, where I can look at all my files on my SD card - and also delete them without connecting up to a PC?
Also trying to delete that stupid Elysium trailer.
What is the best app?
Thanks.

Total Commander, ESFile Explorer and Solid Explorer are amongst best android file explorers.
file manager
root explorer, root access is required, it help u to explore all of file in external/internal memory and ex-sdcard
it can work fine without root access but cant del file in internal memory. it work fast than every file explorer but ui is very simple
ESFile Explorer for me, rooted required.
Tried Astro and ES Explorer.
ES is much better, perfect. It lets me delete stuff, and is very slick. Also, no adverts (that I seen) unlike Astro.
Thanks.
I can not miss the opportunity to plug Total Commander. The Best file manager for Windows and Android.
The crazy bastards even support Windows 3.11 .
