Custom kernel on locked bootloader

Hello world,
I want to install this custom rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836993)
The problem is that i'm running the official 2.4.3 android version from sony. They still haven't released the update to ICS for my country
My bootloader is locked and i'm unable to unlock it without paying (Bootloader unlock allowed: No)
Is it possible that i install any custom kernels? Or can i maunally update to ICS, and get the stock ICS kernel? I would install the custom rom with the stock ICS kernel.
I would be thankful if you send me a link for downloading the official ICS and its kernel.
My phone is the Xperia Arc S (LT18i)
Thanks!
No unlocked bootloader, no custom kernel.

Yes, if it is fully stock and officially signed kernel.
That is - you can only flash that kernel via Flashtool .FTF file.
No other way.

Would you please send me a link where I can download the stock kernel?
And, do you recommend updating my xperia to ICS?

No - ICS on the 2011 Xperia line-up is worthless and not worth it.

Thanks for clearing that up.

If you do want to give ICS a try, flash tool is the first link. The second link is ftf file for LT18i. (The kernel is embedded in to the ftf file). Flash tool is very simple and walks you through the steps.

I do agree with the previous posts by the way that it is slower, but I like the features

Every fully stock and signed kernel can be installed with locked bootloader. GB and ICS.

Arc s

u have stock Arc s
android version 2.3.4
build number 4.0.2.A.0.62
i want to upgrade to Ice Cream Pureness
what i have to do ??
can i just unlock the bootloder and roted
???
and then i can flash the rom
or i need to have official ics first ?
U can do in both ways. . Either unlock the bootloader.. & flash custom kernel.. Or Stock ics kernel..
OR
Update ur s/w to ics.. , Root it.. , Install cwm recovery. . Then flash the Rom...!:-/

Make sure to have working flashtool and working update service.
Also download at least one applicable ftf file for flashtool.
Make sure that drivers for both tools are in place then you can play with your phone.

If u dont want to unlock the bootloader, then flash any ics stock firmware , install cwm and then flash Ice cream pureness.
If u have already unlockd the BL, flash kernel with cwm first and then flash Pureness rom

[Q] some questions about roms

Hi there, I have some questions about roms of sony xperia s.
where can I get the newest offical firmware like this: LT26i(4.0.4)_6.1.A.2.55_Generic_SG(1257-6921).rar (.elf file)
can I use Flashtool to flash these offical firmware ?
what dose ICS17.elf mean? I have flashed this file by using fastboot, and got my phone rooted and got a CMW recovery.
many thanks

1. Get it from Here
2. Yes, sure.
3. ICS17 is the modified stock kernel added more features than stock one
Hold on.......
If you've flashed the ics17 kernel then you've unlocked the bootloader yes?
Then scrap off any ics rom and flash Jellybean

Definitely gin2jellybean its great! Try it!
I would have to say is NXT LE v3.1 By Krisdee... Although, you'll have to flash the .58 enhanced v2 FTF before installing the rom using CWM... Follow the instructions in the forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649368
None, dont bother installing custom roms. Your really asking for your problems for your device.

I no it been said NXT LE v3.1 By Krisdee this the best or you can try his new ICS rom Hybrid Rom By Krisdee
"i have an xperia play r800at unable to unlock bootloader i have rooted and installed cwm now what rom is the best for unlocked bootloaders"??
I guess u mean "...is the best for LOCKED bootloader"?....
Anyway, if u have locked bootloader:
1-Forget ICS/JB
2-Just install NXT Rom 1.3, best GB rom available now for Xperia Play.
