Hi all,
I have bought one x today and discovering it now.. it came with a tiny dust under the screen from the box but I did not care.. the rest is working just fine..
But I wonder if the 34 degree for battery and 54-55 degree for the CPU are normal while just texting, surfing the web, taking photos and the auto-sync is on ?
P.S. I started a thread a few days ago and asked if the sound quality was as good as the sensation XE.. my opinion is the regular headsets are just useless compared to the beats audio ones with the sensation XE..
These temps are fine. I'm at 33 batt and 51 CPU only running on 2 cores listening to music and replying to you

thanks for the quick reply.. i have one more Q; how can we install custom ROMs if we can neither S-off nor change the CID to SuperCID? with sensation we have to do them first to install a custom ROM..
Max battery temp is 48 at which point the phone stops charging but the battery should be rated for 60c
The CPU is good up to 90c which is is thermal cutout.

Because HTC offers us something like "half s-off", or unlocking the bootloader via HTCdev.com ... we can do almost everything with this unlock, but is more complicate then on the sensation ...

Never heard about that xD PLease more info
EDIT: Found it!
Right now the stock rom and kernel will give you best battery results so stop flashing. The difference won't be large though..

Totally agree stay stock ics
I made a post trust us stock ics rooted
I'm getting 16 hours or so all damn day on heavy use
Like I mentioned htc did something right being sealed unit they knew they better or loose sales fasttt!!!
Dim screen screen time out to 15 sec.
Adjust setcpu
Toggle data off when not used
This phone truly has iphone batt quality least I think so.. and I've owned every device under the sun.
Charge all night but charge with data toggled off
you can use painless power control app or widgetsoid

So i got one x a few days ago and i like it besides the battery but i have one question when im using the phone (wifi, music and fb) it goes to like 41C and with gaming 44c so should i be woried or is this normal for the one x? Im on stock rom with locked bootloader and latest software
Mines been up to 49 and its done no harm, some people have reported higher without getting any problems so don't worry

Use core control and drop it down to two cores when using the pone generally I am getting better battery life in general use on two cores when I play demanding stuff I hit on all fours.
Is it better with 2 cores i mean the battery cause i didnt unlock my device yet but if unlocking may improve battery then i will (i mean unlocking bootloader, rooting and then disabeling the 2 cores) i was a flashoholic but i realy like sense 4 so no need for me to loose my waranty
Mine too gets really hot and drains battery like crazy
My SGS2 also gets hot similary to one x but not as fast as the one x gets hot that's what worried me
Hi, i'm planning to get DHD by exchanging it with my HTC One V.
Is it better than One V?
How is the battery life on ICS, i smwhr read it last for max.6hrs.
And r games like Temple RUN, GTA 3 and other HD games works smooth?
Please guide me.
I'm not sure how accurate these lists are but they show the specs for each phone.
HTC Once V
HTC Desire HD
I've not used the One V before. I still thoroughly enjoy my Desire HD.
I'm not really a gamer (on the phone), so I don't know about gaming performance.
With a bit of tinkering you can get a full day of heavy use and GTA3 runs great.

DHD 4life, imho it's better coz the 2 harware are similar but dhd has a much better cover and design!

In all ways i believe Dhd is superior than one V . . Only the draw back is it doesnt run official ics . .
If u need custom ics roms . . Its here. .
Welcome to DHD world...

It depends on which rom you are using and also depends on ur phone. . .
If u want a ics rom with more battery life try Ice cold sandwitch . .
Its a no sense rom with more battery life(2-3 days avg usage) and less bugs for me. . .
What should be for a year old DHD.
With ICS + sense 4.
On slight gaming and always on WiFi on.
I heard Battery Life of the phone is awful thts y

Isn't the One V just a repackaged DHD for the most part?

I've used both phones and If battery life is what you compare between the two you will be really disappointed with the DHD!

There's not much of a comparison between One V and Desire HD - http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3468&idPhone2=4575
Screen - Both same resolution, DHD has a bigger screen and a bigger backlight, so more battery usage there. One V screen is smaller, but is SLCD 2 which compared to DHD's LCD is better.
CPU & GPU and Chipset - Exactly same. That's why in my previous post I said the One V is just a repackaged DHD.
RAM - DHD has 768 MB, One V has 512 MB.
Camera - DHD has 8MP, One V has 5MP, but we all know that doesn't matter. See the link above for sample shots. Don't know which is better. DHD has a dual LED flash (extremely bright) while One V has a single LED flash, so the DHD has even more battery drain when using the camera with flash.
Battery - DHD has a measly 1230 mAh, whereas One V has 1500 mAh.
Now considering that for the most part they have the same hardware, especially the stuff that constantly uses battery (CPU & GPU), the One V has a smaller screen and a bigger battery than the DHD. Of course it has better battery life, there's nothing to discuss regarding that. That said, I prefer my DHD because I love it's build quality and the overall look and feel of it. Battery life is not an issue for me because I have 3 batteries that I keep with me when I'm outside, so that's 3*1230 mAh = 3690 mAh effectively. When doing a direct comparison of battery life, the One V will be much better, but something to consider here is that it doesn't have a removable battery. Once it's drained fully, you'll have to charge it. I just swap the battery in my DHD - makes life easier than having to run around looking for a charger.
So what you should buy comes down to these 3 things -
1. Bigger or smaller screen?
2. Heavy user or medium to light user that can make do with non-removable battery?
3. Software upgrades - The DHD will not receive any more upgrades from HTC, so your only source of the latest software is this forum and all the custom ROMs here. The One V will receive at least an upgrade to JellyBean, so you'll have a fully working version of the latest software without doing anything (if that's what you want).
I haven't spoken about the camera because I don't know how the One V camera is. You'll want to check that out too if you're a major camera user. The DHD camera is good.
And not to forget dhd has so many android choices from 2.2 to 4.1 while one v only have ics roms

That will explain why battery life is better!!
Do it.!:good:
Hi ive been reading this forum for a while though I have just signed up and am currently making my first post.
I am currently on SFR Htc One X International Edition Tegra 3 v3.14 (the jellybean one version).
I currently experience heat problems as many on this forum even while web browsing with chrome and listening to music.
I have already rooted my device. My question is : what rom should I use ?
I am looking for a rom which doesn't have all that extra stuff like ViperX like extra options when pressing power button. I am looking for a rom (with sense or without ) that without many alterations except performance tweaks and which will reduce my device temperature.
Thanks for your suggestions
You could try the blade rom, its very stripped down and fast !

I finally installed Blade rom and was very satisfied with it Though it was really fast it still had some heat issues. What I did to fix it was since it was already so fast, I disabled 2 of my cores and the UI was still silk smooth with almost no difference to the naked eye.
Then my battery temperature stayed under 30 degrees when doing normal operation. While web browsing and listening to music a slight heat sensation is present but its okay with a battery temperature not going over 35 degrees.
I tested playing temple run for 25 min and end result was battery temperature of 40-45 degrees and with only a little stuttering. The latter happened only once when i think some auto sync program requested some cpu time but overall i am now very satisfied and my battery life also got really extended.
hey,
i've been flashing a few roms on my htc one x and i liked viperx as it offers lots of customization. but i found out that the battery and performance of android revolution hd is better. now, i've tried several custom kernels & also played around with governors and schedulers, yet i'd really like if there is a way to get the battery/speed of ARHD into viperx. i tried "repacking" ARHD boot.img at nibble.cc
and flashed it, but stuck on bootloop.
any help would be appreciated.
thankyou.
Nope, you can't have everything. viper has all those extra amazing features which would probably result in degraded performance or battery life.

Battery usage is all very specific to how you use your phone, what apps you have etc.
Im on viper x / xm305 and getting a good 24 to 27 hours with several hours screen time.
I use greenify on some apps and cap cpu at 1300 - happy days.

i am also on xm305. but the battery is not predictable, sometimes, it is consumed like anything, at other times, even after heavy usage for a time, not a single % down. i tried to cap cpu at 1300, but can sense minute lags here and there.
for eg. i pulled the plug yesterday @ 10 am, when battery was 81%, this morning at 10 it still was 81%. used wifi for 3-4 minutes, baam! down to 73%.
btw, i've disabled most of the apps that i dont use frequently.
anyways, not that i have any complaint about it. but i'd have liked to see if cream features of each rom could be taken and combined to make one powerful rom. just a dream
That does sound screwy. What does gsam tell you about it ?

i dont use the gsam app, though when checked in settings-power-usage, it showed media server at the highest, then facebook, whatsapp and so on. but battery life is not a major issue for me, it is good enough.
